Kim City - Jan 14 - Damiki rig

Fished this morning and the deep bite was about as good as it gets. Went to my first spot and scouted for 5 minutes and then went to my next spot. When I arrived about 7:20 the fish activity was unreal. About 15 big fish busted the surface over a 10 minute span and my graph was covered with vertical activity. I did not catch a single surface fish and after several cast I decided to stick with the vertical bite. The fish would fight over the Damiki rig and mostly ignore an ice jig and grub. From 7:30 to 8:00 the catching was almost every drop. The shad were 100% scattered (nothing schooled up) and I kept the boat in 35 to 55 FOW. Then about 8:30 the ice jig started to work well. Then about 9:00 there was an empty graph and the party was over.

Caught all three species and the K's accounted for 90%.

I threw a jerkbait, grub,  and underspin at the surface activity and was very surprised I did not catch a single surface fish.

I thought the grub would work so I started with it and they ignored it, then picked up the Damiki and if you missed one another would bite it.

Have you tried Sufix Superior?

After the way I was harassed twice in the Branson BPS by employees I'll never shop with Cabela's or BPS again. John boy will never see another penny of mine. Some woman kept following me around trying to get me to sign up for something and I had to tell her to back the f*** off me after saying no 3 or 4 times. Then she waited outside the bathroom for me to come out and asked me again to sign and then called me an a hole  😃Have had nothing but problems there. They even tried to trick me into accepting the wrong model boat when I went there to pick it up. Actually had to get in my tool box and grab a tape measure to prove they were wrong. Even though I had a bill of sale with proof. Didnt want to buy a boat there but  it was close and they had what I wanted. Yeah Idiots. Yes try the Superior it's great! Just don't buy it from BPS.

Frankly, none of that surprises me. Can't tell you how many times I went to that worthless Branson store looking for VERY BASIC GEAR and they would be completely out. Couldn't buy a single spool of any brand or quantity of 12-pound fluorocarbon line once. Was fishing a Central Pro-Am and had gone off and left my line bag at home. When I politely asked the old geezer working in that department if they might have some in the back, his reply was, "Stuff doesn't sell very well out of the back. If we had it, you'd find it on the shelf." At that point, I replied that empty shelves don't sell well either. I should've called Mr. Bill at that point but it was after 8 p.m. and I figured he was already in bed, so off to Springfield we went ... only after making a call to ensure their flagship store wasn't also out of stock. LOL

Have to admit, their slogan "Your Adventure Starts Here" certainly applies to the Branson store because it certainly never ENDS THERE for me.

Had a bad experience with Sufix back when they were pretty new and haven't tried it again. Certainly haven't tried the Superior, since it probably came out since then. If it outperforms BPS Excel ... or just works equally well ... and doesn't cost a lot more, I'm in.

Well I think I bought mine off eBay from joebass  .. I've been using the 6 and 8 pound Superior for a couple years now. When Bull was flooded I was yanking crappie out of the brush with the 6 . Great abrasion resistance and strong , stronger than I expected actually. The 8 I've been using for finesse  bass fishing and it casts well and also good in the rocks  and strong knots.
