Members Andy Sherrill Posted April 15, 2020 Members Posted April 15, 2020 I had a good day fishing last week but wondering what this cool front has done to water temp, spawning fish, etc. I saw they finally stopped dropping the lake and rain projected for tomorrow night. Has anyone been this week?
Heretolearn Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Very slow today, most of the fisherman came back without any crappie. I was like the 25th boat at Bolivar Landing at ~4pm, but everyone was gone well before dark. I was the last one to pull out.
MrGiggles Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I went Wheatland this afternoon. Took a while to find them, but I did get a few for dinner. 21ft, 54 degrees. Water is way down from the last time I went. Surprising for this time of year. tho1mas 1 -Austin
MrGiggles Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 They are moving shallow now. Caught 6 last nice, all less than 5ft. Be warned, the lake is a madhouse right now. Parking lot at Wheatland was full yesterday. Evidently someone's truck was broken into at the ramp, the police were there. Someone apparently forgot to turn at the first curve going into Wheatland park too, so there was a rollback dragging it out of the trees. It was a circus. mke22, Heretolearn and MOPanfisher 2 1 -Austin
Heretolearn Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Nothing worth taking in my truck when I am fishing, but that is a bad deal. Hope everyone is catching a few fish, but have to admit that I am looking forward and hoping we get back to "Normal."
