  1. A lot more water on the LRR, I have always been impressed by guides and the info/flies they give away, even when you aren't hiring them. Two that come to mind are Jeremy Hunt on Taney and a guide on the LRR from the Northeast by the name of Joe ?. Good guys.

  3. I thought I could a couple times, donated a bunch of money to the real fishermen on Grand a couple summers ago.....then I went to the creek where I can beat myself regularly for the cost of a 12 pack and some gas.
  4. IMO, being confident in what/how you fish, as well as being happy with yourself at the end of the day on the water makes you a great fisherman. I feel like I'm a great river fisherman, many would likely disagree, I try to be a competent lake angler, but will likely always suck at it.... as a result of being on the river too much where I am a "self" revered GREAT! LOL
  5. I have seen the "no wake" on beaver tw before, but it has been a while.....
  6. Hmmmm, I agree to an extent, but have to say not all should be judged in such a way. In rural areas, (which country lane infers), it is a way of life as well as sometimes necessary for underage kids to drive. I have been driving on my own since I was 12 or 13 in between our farms shuttling equipment, hauling hay, etc. It was always on low traffic dirt roads, maybe the occasional paved road and always where/how my parents told me to do it. There is rarely a day that I dont see someone under 16 driving something around my house. Yes I am talking about an agricultural setting, but as long as they aren't being stupid, whats the harm? I'd rather a kid learn to drive prior to getting a license than get a license and then learn to drive. Just my opinion
  7. Generally flexible on my end just let me know.
  8. Im game, Yes grew up on the hill above and South of Shannon Springs, my parents still do. Im almost to Fairview. There is a bridge between Wanda and Boulder City (not the one on South Indian) that would be my best guess on the Brown Fish. We shall have to explore sometime.
  9. Never had thought about it but I know where the first bluff is on Indian Creek.... Still trying to figure out how high up smallmouth exist on Indian, I know where they don't, its within a 5 or 6 mile stretch between where I have and haven't caught them. (Little stuff like that is fun to find out, doubt more than a couple people could tell you where that line is)
  10. What makes it even more fascinating to me is that I live 5 miles away from where Capps enters Shoal. I have live water on my land that becomes the uppermost flowing water on the north fork of Indian a mere 5 miles down from me, just south of Stark City. so a mere 5 miles or less is the difference in the headwaters of two completely different river systems.
  11. Is the different substrate the difference in numbers of fish between the two?

  13. Chief, which one in your opinion puts out better top end fish? I think Shoal should, but hasnt for me. Am I missing quality by not fishing Center and Spring River?
  14. $275 50 rd drum, folding stock Not my style, have 4 .22s and a different 10/22 in my gun cabinet.
  15. My two local watersheds are the Elk and Shoal Creek (Spring River watershed, I know). It seems to me that hands down the Elk River and its tribs are better in terms of numbers, while Shoal Creek is better for average size fish. That being said, most of my very few 18+" fish have come from the Elk's tribs. I know there are big fish in all of them, but what are y'alls opinions?

    Fine Dining Flop

I believe there is a reason for your bad experience, its called liberalism, the general chain of thought in New England.... Makes everything suck.
  17. Someone needs to make a trip report on Indian Creek again, then the lake folk can watch a real fight!
  18. Nice trip, the wife and I are going as soon as we get a chance on the lower stretch.
  19. Nice trip, I went on a vacation with the in-laws once, hope yours goes better . 2 taney trips that close together sounds sweet!
  20. Grand, 7 Days/week.
  21. Awesome trip, would get a lot more responses if you would have kept some basses Awesome trip.
  22. The more you do it, the better you will become at it. Do it as much as possible and you will become good at it before you know it. A drag chain can be helpful, but is a hindrance just as often. Keep at it and you will get it.

    Water Level

fish a stretch a little higher up if you can, the water should be about right by Friday or Saturday.
  24. I know its a long shot, but I'm looking for a lower unit that will fit an '88 mercury 50hp. Took the boat in for a new prop and throttle cable adjustment and got the bad news yesterday. Thanks if anyone has a lead.
  25. Thats an excellent evening of fishing!
