  1. You have 2, 18" fish. ONE is 2.47 lbs, TWO is 3.9 lbs. Which one is bigger?
  2. Prayers and best of luck to you
  3. I have recntly been on a small creek binge, and by small I mean the upper reaches of small trib where most wouldn't call it floatable, even after a good rain. Today I floated/drug a short stretch at the upper reaches of a creek that is one of my favorites. I caught several fish, no giants but super fun and knocked out a new stretch of water. I'm going to have to look REALLY HARD to find some fresh water around the house, I don't believe there is any that I haven't done.
  4. Creeks like this, the highest that I have ever caught a smallmouth on my favorite smallmouth flow. It's a branch of a small tributary of a small river.
  5. I either miss the auction or get outbid on there lol I have bids in on a few on ebay now but they are the bigger ones.
  6. Looking for a few old Bomber Fat A's prefer 1/8 Oz (4f?) But I'd buy other sizes. P.M. me Thanks
  7. Wait for may, that's when the magic happens with smallie on the fly.
  8. Nice fish, pretty sure that I have seen it before if that is the skinny run that I think it is. Awesome job!
  9. That's just twisted, I think that I will go cry now.
  10. What's your bears name?
  11. Rainy Mondays are made for angry fishing breaks
  12. That's a good use for a day!
  13. Didn't plan to fish today, but life gave me an opportunity . Had a bit of a tif with the boss man so I left before i got fired, quit, or hit someone. Ran home grabbed the beater rod and a box of small streamers and went to the closest flowing water. I hadnt fished where I did since I was a kid and it was fun (not to mention stress free and relaxing) I caught 20 or so mostly chub with a few assorted perch in about an hour of dodging snakes Have some sweet river pics but they wont upload
  14. Im Sure it is a great bait, but a craw is just a tool. A tool in obvioUsly Skilled hands. My only annoyance is that SOME are portraying it as the magic bait that catches big and only big fish, and a lot of them. Kind of like the ned has been painted at times ( more numbers than size but same point ). You guys have confidence in it and know how to fish and imo that is the recipe. All that said, you are all catching AMAZING fish, congrats!
  15. That craw is starting to sound a lot like the ned rig.
  16. Where did u score the yeungling? I'm jealous!
  17. Got mine today, wow some very talented tiers!
  18. I peeled away from work mid day today to get my mind right via the river. I threw around a few ideas before heading for Noel to float Mt. Shira to the dam (I had never actually floated this stretch, I believe that I have now floated every stretch on the Elk River watershed.) This was my 3rd float, 4th river trip in the last 2 weeks and it was one of the toughest trips that I have ever had for smalljaws. The wind was in my face all day and I went the first two hours without a fish. I finally figured out what they wanted. Ended up with 10 ish, 5 broke 14" 1 was pushing 16 but nothing huge. This was the first time in my life that I saw 0 other boats on the poor abused Elk. Great day out!
  19. Here's a question that's a little off topic, but I have always wondered. Is the river fishing better in the central/eastern partof the state than the sw part of the state? I feel like my home flows are world class but aan I missing out on thE best rivers by hanging 'round here? BTW I fish the grand river watershed almost exexclusively.
  20. BTW welcome to the forum
  21. And that is how you have a very good chance of 18+ inch smalljaws. They are special in a river but it is attainable on a regular basis and still bloody stinking fun on the lakes.
  22. True story but seriously if you come float an ozark river in the summer you WILL catch plenty of brown fish.
  23. Leave the boat rent a canoe throw soft plastics catch 100 smallmouth...... seriously get on an ozark river and it's that easy. Good luck with your trip but don't over think it when you get on the water.
