  1. I uses a double 1/16 oz jig combo,, sometimes when I am messing around I see a big school of shad and I just pitch and let the jig fall through the school, usually something bites before 15 feet, reel back slow and hang on.
  2. I have real good luck this time of year slow trolling jigs in 15 to 25 ft of water off the bluffs, I just motor to a bluff, scan the area find a school or schools of fish and drop two jig rigs over the sides, on at 12 ft and one at 15 ft couple jigs to each line gives you lots of seperation and 4 different jig body colors , I move about 1.5 mph and work an area them move on, bite is usually pretty strong, and quite often, Do this on the big sac arm more than the little sac, also C C area when it gets a little colder. good luck

  11. cant open the document, get a prompt saying I dont have a program or something like that... so can't comment on the article, but like fishbait3 said the limit is 15 or what ever your lake your on and there limit, If I catch 15 in an hour I am done,if it takes 8 hours to get 15 then I'm done. so what were some of the points on trolling.....

I pay the fees, gladly, worth every penny to be able to fish when and almost anywhere I want, as far as the fishing docks go, never did like them, never was good enough to catch verry many if any fish from them, use to fish them in Oklahoma a lot when I was young, did not like them eaven then,,,, hope Mutton Creek never goes back to one.
  19. for you that like to small mouth fish, I found a bunch north of state park marina, I was fishing brush and some rocks and almost every cast smallie, on 6 ft rod 2lb test line, was quite a fight, now to be exact Just west of eagle Island, by the old foundations, water is only a couple feet deep, I was sitting at the drop tossing a florecent jig 1/16 oz letting it fall and trying to drop it off the edge and let the crappie hit,,,, but no crappie to be found, but lots of small mouth some probably 3lb not to good on bass..... have fun
  20. I fish stockton a lot, long line crank baits all summer long, I use bandit, 300, run 4 to 6 rods, and sometime planer boards, I have line counter reels, and 8 to 12 ft rods, run 75 to 100 ft of line out at 1.7 mph, using gps speed over ground setting on depth finder,( Lowrance) set up in the area of birch branch and troll 15 to 30 ft of water, I love brown/orange. black/pink, pink, brown orange has been hot last few trips, do well up arround state park and the deep water up there, sometime I use 1oz weights and let out 50 ft of line and troll that deep water up in that ares. type in trolling crank baits in google and find some good advice. good luck
  21. normally in feb I troll arround looking for what I think are walley on the screen, usually the areas I fish are always a walley producing area, I use road runners, and bounce them off the bottom from the bank back to the boat. I also throw shad raps and bandits, in feb, I do not fish the dam area, boat to small. the walley are hitting real well right now in 3o to 60 ft of water. using jigs fishing below the shad and crappie. good luck oh and high point talked to my buddy and just before the storm they were catching good walley at high point.
  22. I catch walley in stockton in feb. I have friends that fish the deep water close to the dam and they are slaying them now, and will for a couple more months, I usually wait till the middle of feb and hit the feeder streems. some times the walley are pretty close to the swimming beach at roark bluff. often times at the chicken rock area as soon as the ice is gone.
  23. cc area, go accross the bridge to the north, take first lane to the west, drive to water, west side is good for white bass, crappie and catfish. minnows under a bobber, casting jigs or roostertail, or meps spinner, for whites and crappie, liver, little smokeies worms for catfish, roark bluff fishing dock on east side of H highway. minnows under a bobber, brush piles all arround the dock, just east of the swimming beach on the point good for catfish, crappie will be hard to catch after dark if you dont have light to draw bait, but the white bass will bite early just befor dark in most places,
  24. put in at state park marina, go up maze creek, fish 4 to 12 f.o.w. either side of a point, or a small cut, also adams branch and the wall are producing crappie, old state park west side of 215 north bank from the lake point to the back is good, caught limits monday, wed, fri. last week, this rain should help a bunch, bring on the rise
  25. depends on what you have your contrast set on and how far out you are looking, one good rule of thumb 75 percent on contrast, and half the water distance, ie, if your in 60 fow scan out 30 ft. also scan one side at a time to do serious looking, use both sides, then when you find something go to one side, it took me a few trips the more you use it the better you will get at it. like you I am finding stuff I never dreamed was there
