Is that Copenhagen,Skoal or Grizzly in your grill? Ha. Nice job.

That is a heck of a warranty. I too have heard Phoenix is a good boat. Not sure on resale on those. I believe Mr. Babler has a Phoenix and loves it. As for frequency of fishing. If someone is goin 10-15 times a year it would be hard to justify that price. I'm getting to that point on my 07 20i. Do I start spending money on fixing mine up or just buy a newer one. It's probably a wash when you add up the expense. It would be better to have one with all the latest technology and a warranty. Now getting my wife to agree is a different issue in itself. ?

A dealer friend of mine here in Arkansas had a 2013 Z-8 with 250 Merc and less than 100hrs he sold for $25800 less than six months ago. It was a cream puff.

Narrow down what you want and how much you want to spend. If you are wanting a new one I would encourage you to buy a used one with low hours. Not sure how taxes are in Missouri but in Arkansas there are no sales taxes on used boats. That will save you thousands. If you plan on keeping this boat for a long time I also encourage you to buy a 2 stroke motor. 4 strokes are great when you have a warranty but are costly to fix when they aren't. When you narrow it down let me know. I know several folks who sell boats and could save you time and money.

Bass Blaster features 5 bass limit for 29lbs + at Bella Vista

I knew the lake. Didn't want to be the one to say it. Ha -
If the wind is blowing I'd key in on that first. Any kind of moving bait would work. A-rig would be an excellent choice. Throw it up shallow and reel it quick til it gets a about 10 ft away from bank then start slowing your retrieve and lower your rod. This will allow you to cover all depths back toward the boat. Great search bait. If they are hammering it you have the right bait. If not throw a slower presentation like a jerkbait. Good luck

The only bonus to getting old. Senior citizen discounts!

That COE hang tag is well worth the money. Don't have to stop and pay every time you go. I think it's $35 a year. Might have gone up after the new year

The Kirkland Signature Golf Ball Saga Continues
Sore Thumbs replied to abkeenan's topic in Table Rock Lake
I buy the second hand titleist balls. Much cheaper . I've always heard that most amateur golfers don't need high dollar balls like Pro V 1s. They sure are pretty when they are new though. Ha -
On the bright side you didn't have that motor in your way fishing out of the back?
-
That is so true. I can take line off of a reel and throw it in the trash at my house by the end of the fishing day that line is somehow wrapped around my hot foot. Ha

Unfortunately that was where I found fish. I was the first boat to arrive due to and early number so I was in the front. My boat runs upper sixties to 70 if conditions are right. These guys left me like I was standing still. I wasn't that mad at the fish to risk life and limb playing bumper boats with those guys. I will say it is an adrenaline rush to take part in. Here are a few pictures of that day. Love to have a go pro next time I do it.

Need fishinwrench to comment on this subject. I'm wondering what the motor does in this situation? Does it kick to one side and stay or does it have a mind of its own?

I've been involved with take offs in narrow water ways before. When you are driving you get tunnel vision on what's ahead so you don't get involved in your own accident. Some of those guys are weaving in and out trying to pass slower boats. If anyone has been in a lock on a river knows what I'm talking about. When gates open it's chaos. 40 to 50 boats side by side trying to be first ones out. I backed off and let the crazies have at it.

Interview with commissioner of Major League Fishing. Good insight and upcoming formats for every day anglers to get involved. Check it out.

After reading the story it hit me even harder. I recently told my mechanic that my steering wheel didn't feel right. I have 2 bolts holding my steering wheel on. He found that one was gone and the other was almost all the way out. This could have happened to me. I would say if anything doesn't feel normal when you are driving down the lake to get it checked immediately. Better to be safe than sorry.

My buddy and I watched an eagle swoop down and grab a coot and take off with it when we were on Toledo Bend last month. It was awesome to watch. Here is a pic of some of them. They were there by the thousands.

I heard Berkely might be in money troubles. They backed way off from marketing and sponsorship money this year. Keep an eye on situation.

Felt like I was reading a story not a report. Nicely done. Had similar experience on Beaver yesterday. Not as many bites, but no love on the crank either. Oddly enough I caught one on a jerkbait that was suspended in water that was 27ft. When I looked in it's mouth I saw part of a craw hanging out. Does this mean that they pulled out deep after cold came in? Did get a great picture of an eagle snacking on a deer carcass. That bird could care less if I was there. I had to be less than 30ft away. Must have been really hungry. Thanks for the report.

It works Jerry. There's a time for mono, a time for FC and a time for braid. There are even times you use all three on the same rod and reel.
