  1. Drop Shot? Ha.
  2. I use 12-15lb Invizx. Falcon Cara jig rod. Flourocarbon or Braid is a must due to the sensitivity. It's amazing the difference between those and mono.
  3. Thank you for the heads up
  4. I could have stayed put but the stories of big smallmouth kept telling me to go toward the dam and try. I tried several applications but the drop shot reigned supreme.
  5. Nice
  6. I'm addicted Champ. Can't help it. That rig has produced more summer time bites than I have ever had. The fish just can't stand it. They have to bite it. I've learned so much about it in the last month. Line size, weight size, different variations of hooks, weedless, exposed hook, worm colors I never thought to use. It's great. Next step is Power shot rig with bigger line and weights. Anxious to try it.
  7. No sir. No Whites. I guarantee that I could have caught a bunch more fish but they were all small. I had a wind blown point that was absolutely loaded. Fish or bite on almost every cast. Just did not want to stay there all day and catch shorts. So I ran toward the dam end. Had a lot tougher time there though. Really windy and tons of traffic. If you didn't fish a point of some sort you wouldn't get a bite. Had fun learning the lake. I could see that lake being ridiculous come jerkbait time.
  8. Ended up with around 20 total bass, couple of perch and a drum. Got a lot tougher after the sun came out.
  9. Had about an hour window between cells. Caught 7 so far on drop shot. All shallow. Less than 5 feet. Try a jig in the same spots and they won't touch it. Must be a looking up day.
  10. Sitting at Cherokee Landing ramp. Bad lightning and rain. Gonna wait a while.
  11. From my recent experience. The James river has been the best for me. Others may disagree. Drop shot fish all over bridge in Cape Fair.
  12. Think your right Daddy. Reports are fish being caught anywhere from 3-20ft. I'm gonna stick to main lake points and see how it goes.
  13. Sorry to interrupt your regular scheduled programming. Anyone been to Tenkiller lake lately? Going tomorrow and I'm unfamiliar with the lake. Been waiting for it to drop back to normal. Any ideas or areas you folks recommend? Taking drop shots and jigs for sure.
  14. Had similar results on Beaver Thursday. Casting out a drop shot and bringing it slowly back to the boat. It seemed like the hot zone was 13ft. Shallower than that was hammered by perch. Deeper than that not a whole lot of bites. Caught a little Wally as well. Very few keepers. If it was a keeper it would be a Kentucky.
  15. Wally was about 12 inches.
  16. I fished last night and had a good time. Caught a bunch of short fish on drop shot. Even caught a Walleye with it. Ha. Tried short leader drop shot after dark with a Zoom Mag 2 worm and caught a few that way too. It got a little chilly out there. Thanks for report.
  17. Take control of the things you can. Hope for the best on the things you can't.
  18. Yep. I had a small window to jump all over that one.
  19. You know I know better. Couldn't help myself. You guys are the only two I know who fit that description. ?
  20. Not sure why they don't just open all the dams at the same time and keep a constant avg flow going over a longer period of time. That way there is no sudden rise or fall.
  21. I hate to say it but they need to follow GRDA at Grand and make all coves no wake starting at the mouth of each cove. This would help tremendously. Only problem is main lake docks would get pummeled.
  22. Sounds like Champ and Donna was there! Ha
  23. People Suck.
  24. Only if it rolls completely over. In that case you have a bad lure. I say the more wobble the better it is. Check out a Deps Buzzjet on YouTube. I have one and it it the loudest, most wobbley top water I have. It will catch em.
