Sorry you had such a bad day Denjac. Your story reminded me of last year fishing with my buddy. We were prefishing for our first tournament together at LOZ(Central Pro Am). He buried a Lucky craft 3.5 DD into the back of his own head on a cast. He had two hooks in his head! Those things wouldn't budge for nothing. We ended up going to the Hospital and it cost him around $400 to get those removed. On top of that we didn't catch a fish. Needless to say, it was a weekend to forget.

I don't disagree with you that different things work better on different days. I'm just saying there is a reason that the pros think these are the best jerkbaits. These guys are using them even when they are sponsored by someone else. I used to think that it didn't matter what I used either but it seems like you get what you pay for sometimes. I'm not saying they are the only option I just think they are the better option. IMO.

I like the Seagar Invizex 10 lb Flourocarbon for both. This is a great line, but it is pricey. Mst Student has me interested in trying that Stren stuff. Even if it is a little less clear than the Seagar I could at least use it with crankbaits and other reaction baits. Thanks for the heads up.

Guys. Theree has to be a reason that these pros are using Megabass jerkbaits. These things were a secret for several years. For some reason they catch fish better than other jerkbaits. I have talked to several guys who say they have had there butt kicked by someone in the same boat using a Megabass when they werer using a different brand. As far as color I would have to say that Pro Blue is the best for these Highland resevoir lakes. IMO. I have another one that is called Natural Shad. This is a good color too.

Tried the same thing on Beaver saturday. Caught 1 Lm on a wiggle wart that was 2.3 lbs. Then I caught three more LM on a MegaBass jerkbait the biggest was 2.5 lbs. I had several bites on the wiggle wart but only caught one with it. Not sure if I was working it too fast or they didn't like the color. Probably working it too fast. I had better luck on the banks where the wind was blowing parallel with the bank instead of right at them. Would a spinnerbait work when it's this cold?

If you do decide to go with a Si unit I think that your current Lowrance can share waypoints with the new HDS units if you have the proper ethernet cables. That would allow you to put your current unit up front and your new one in the dash. This way you are getting the most electronics for the least amount of money.
