Fished my favorite crappie pond yesterday evening. Still was 1/3 covered with ice. No bites (imagine that) but felt good to get out there. Nothin but the beautiful noise of nature. I'll hit it this weekend with my fly rod throwin my favorite semi-suspending crappie jig. The slow suspending action or lack of action can work great in the spring. Anybody else hit on a crappie pond yet?

Yep, I think I have 2 small bags left in the freezer. Prolly get one out for Sunday Dinner! 60 degrees today,60 Sunday and 70 Monday and everythings froze over. Gonna be a tough weekend!

This question is coming from someone north of the Armadillo range and ignorant about them. Why are they undesireable to have around?

While i do agree with most stated in all posts above a little i don't. Tough for me to say one of the best scoring backcourts in the country isn't amazingly talented. Thats a pretty amazing stat in my book!.........BUT.......very slow feet for all which leads to terrible defense. Desire and hustle may also be part of the slow feet as well as the ability level. Yes we are a very easy team to figure out and shut down. Couple that with a coaching staff that obviously lacks the ability to prepare and motivate a team that individually has NCAA tourney talent and has had recent extremely critical wins needed but collectively is worse than its parts and you get a NIT team which is really just what we are this year. Heard one of the announcers last night say that we play numerous defenses and thats a sign of a poor defensive team. I couldn't agree more. Whether you call this Haiths players or not this team is no better or maybe even worse than they were at the start of the year. In my book that means bad coaching. I've seen enough to cut our losses and get another coach in there. Prolly have to suffer through another underachieving year though!

I haven't found anyone that went. I wouldn't have a problem if they raised the tag prices. Might keep a few home that use the bank as a babysitting playground. If I was close enough I'd stop and ask Charlie!

Pond Fly - Crappie Fly Hook: 8 Thread: white 15 wraps 0.015 lead wire Chartruese Maribou medium tinsel chenille Pearl Flashabou Green/Glow Don't be afraid to pinch off some maribou if they seem to be wanting smaller flies, especially in the early spring. This is my top producing crappie fly. Flies are in the mail!!

Mine will be finished this weekend and go in the mail Monday.

Maybe it's already somewhere in here but after watching the video posted recently by Buzz (which was EXTREMELY COOL) I thought it would be neat if everyone posted a link to some of their favorite videos. Lots of neat stuff out there just not found sometimes. Could ya guess we just got 4+ inches of snow with 5+ more coming Tuesday. Cabin fever has already set in and I got a lot of fishin building up in me!

I just hope the coaches aren't promoting this type of play. If so it's probably gonna be a long season. At least our wrestling team is having a good year ranked No. 7 in the nation. Our grapplers have been doing a great job!
