  1. I said no ditches. But it could handle most of it just like your canoe.
  2. My old yak was about 9' long and about 31" wide. Very stable but slow, and uncontollable in current or wind. I'm not planning on taking this new yak down no ditches.
  3. Why not be the first to try it and get back to us on the results.
  4. Warmer at the poles colder at the equator. It crossed my mind but it's pretty far out there.
  5. Between Snow and Georges Creek.
  6. Put the beer and the ice in the cooler.
  7. I guess maybe that is because the lawmakers all know they are guilty of it.
  8. But according to some, it's just cyclic.
  9. What really bites is when a fish is hooked deep and in the gills. You know that fish is gonna die but sometimes you just have to release it anyway due to regulations on length and C&R areas.
  10. I purposely bought the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 because it was 3 inches narrower than the Tarpon 120. Since I will be using my yak on Lake Norfork along with the creeks and rivers around here, I felt the narrower width would help with the ease of paddling on the big water and not be too much of a problem being 2 feet longer on the smaller waters. There's PLENTY of room on this yak for a couple cases of beer.
  11. The point I was trying to make here is that the MDC would be very suspicious of anyone killing an eagle. Why are they not treating this in the same manner? A protected species is a protected species no matter if it's an eagle or mountain lion. All they are doing by not pressing any charges is giving every nut with a gun the go ahead to kill a mountain lion and let them claim self defense. They have just set precedence with these two cases.
  12. The picture of the bridge was taken during daylight hours. The reflection of the moon rising over Lake Michigan was taken at night.
  13. Great. Now I can't wait for it to warm up so I can get my new Tarpon 140 set up and get out there fishing.
  14. If someone was out fishing and had some fish on a stringer that looked too appetizing to a bald eagle, that eagle might just swoop in for a free dinner. Should the fisherman kill the bald eagle because he felt it was a threat to him? Of course not. And if he did kill an eagle and the MDC found out about it, you can bet your sweet a$$ that he would not get away with killing a protected species. So why then are these people getting away with killing a protected species on the claim that they felt threatend? There is no excuse for the MDC letting these people off without some kind of consequnces.
  15. That is because the mining was stopped several years ago and the creek is starting to heal itself.
  16. DDT was sprayed on farm fields. Both turkeys and geese would flock to the fields to eat. They were affected by what they ate.
  17. I call BS on this one: From Merriam Webster Online:Weapon: something (as a club, knife or gun) used to injur defeat or destroy.
  18. Just don't forget to shoot those mountain lions you run across while squrrel hunting. Shoot them in the back as they are runnig away and tell the MDC you were afraid of being attcked.
  19. Cottages? Those look more like homes to me. Are they on the river?
  20. Hey Chief. If I catch one smallie on a crankbait and have any problems getting the hook out, I will mash down the barbs on those trebels. I've got several of my favorite smallie baits with the barbs mashed down. As to the answer of the posted question, I say live bait. All too often a fish will swallow a live bait while it will spit a fake. More harm is done to a fish that swallows the live bait.
  21. Now that's sounds more logical. Thanks for the update.
  22. Considering he put the rope in a clear plastic tubing it will not snag a treble hook as bad as a bare rope. And debarb those trebles and they won't be such a pain.
  23. Can you canoe guys do this?
  24. Not talking about ice fishing, yaksledding.
