  1. Beautiful boat! No motor is mentioned so I'll assume there is no outboard included. Is it set up for a jet or a prop? Thanks

Thank You. I may very well give them a try.
  3. RSB hits it out the park.

Any chance you could point me towards a general area where you saw said Redeara on Norfork. I just need to catch one and any caught will be quickly released back into the lake.

Alledgedly, Norfork has some of these as well.
  6. That's a nice looking smallie! That one certainly looks mature.
  7. It is doable at any level, but it puts too much wear and tear on my and my boats below 9.90 on the Kelley Slab guage.
  8. I was born in Baton Rouge at the old Lady if the Lake across the pond from the State Capital building. I grew up fishing the Spillway. 5 foot was DEEP water and the water was RARELY clear. It's been an adjustment.
  9. Topwater baits are so interesting in how they manipulate fish into biting. I've been areas loaded with smaller bass and lots of baitfish. By throwing a Pop R, I could manipulate the bass into schooling on the shad. The sound of the pop r made them think another fish was feeding and so they would start attacking the shad. Rather than wait for them to start striking and then throw the bait, I could throw the bait and get them to start striking the shad, reeel in and throw to the hottest group. It was pretty funny.
  10. I've also caught two different kinds of turtles and a few types of rocks. I've done the aniimal, mineral, and vegetable hat trick many times.
  11. well then she's way ahead of me on the sculpin thing. Dang it.
  12. My dad could work magic witht he Devils Horse. He could figure out the cadence. Big fish around isolated cover post spawn would crush it.

I'd love to see Notre Dame play a full SEC West Schedule. It would END the foolishness that's gonna happen. The stage is being set for ND to get a Final Four invite. Good Grief. Everybody's schedule in the SEC West is rough. LSU really needs to beat Florida and that IS NOT a given. LSU will lose more games this year. I'm hoping they can make it to 8-4 and who knows if that's even possible. The LSU defense is going to give up points so the offense better figure out a way to hang 30 or so on the board.
  14. Ranger Champ, I'm a full sized Devil's Horse guy so I'm likely as old school as you are.
  15. The only LC prop bait I like is the KJ Prop Bait. I prefer the full size. The KJ Jr's I have are semi bouyant and will slowly sink at times. You might find situations where that is an advantage, but it has only been annoying for me. NIce fish QB. I'm jealous of those big Whites.
  16. LC Splash Tail?
  17. QB did you sling the spybait any? I have a theory that White bass will lose their minds obpver it.
  18. Most articles in magazines are geared more towards lake fishing than stream fishing. Often convention wisdom in these articles starts with a common belief and comes up with semi plausible explanations that have almost no basis in science and an emphasis on anecdotal evidence. The fish do feed heavier in certain areas of the lakes in the fall, but I think that may be because of baitfish locations as much as anything else. The fish may or may not instinctively feed heavier in the fall. Bass feed heavier when there is a ton of baitfish available. I catch fish good in creeks until the water temps drop as fall really sets in. I transition to lake fishing then.
  19. I'd love that.
  20. Nice Goo!
  21. I watched the first part of it. I'll find time to watch all of it soon. What I have seen of it so far was good.
  22. KOKO LRF. I appreciate what you do. This is one of your busiest times of the year. It wasn't really a day. I left the house at about 330 PM and was home right aroud 7 PM. So just a quick trip I grilled some steaks that my wife had marinated and we had baked sweet potatoes on the side. I finished off the last of the Chocolate Bread Pudding I made last Sunday. Good eats. Another good trip with another "stranger" that became a friend thru OA. He did hog all the smallies though so I may have to rethink this.
  23. Grizwilson and his wife are down for a few days. Griz and I have been trying to fish together for about a year. Schedule conflicts, bad weather, illness, and changing plans all worked against us, but finally we got to fish together on the White today. Griz fished with his wife this morning, but he was nice enough to join me for a couple of hours this afternoon. We started a little after four and quit a little after six. We caught them early and often and left them biting. We had 12 doubles. I ended up with 40. I lost both the bigger trout I had hooked. Griz went all Liitle Red Fisherman on me and caught a really nice smallie (about 16 inches). Griz had caught them on a Zig Jig before but really seemed to put it all together when we fished together. We was catching them really good the second half of our trip Good fisherman and a good guy. I hope he's able to make the Jigfest deal. Thanks Griz!
  24. Darbonne has a LOT of wood left in it. You can only run the main creek channel everything has to be a slow idle. It's really spread out. I never fished it a whole lot because I preferred Caney. I did have several really good crappie trips during the cold weather part of the year.
  25. Several guys have expressed interest in a swimbait rod or alabama rig rod. Give it a little while.
