  1. That would be a good RK Crawler color
  2. It may have been Autocorrect issue. Weedless gets changed to seedless IF you get ahead of yourself and hit send without proof reading
  3. It works anywhere there's water
  4. Wow! Those are some crappy looking hooks. Split ring vs snap?
  5. I find it odd that the seedless is less expensive than the open hook design. Both 5 packs (I think).
  6. Here's what ruined me on grubs. Assault lures got out of the bass market. Somehow I got lucky and got in on the hoardfest. 100 count grubs where $10. 120 count Hulas where 10 bucks also. Next best deal was Wave Worms. Tiki Grubs. $1.00 for 10. I don't like em quite as much. Have to pull them faster to get tail kicking. Bigger profile. Still bought 100's. BPS had all their Zoom stuff 50% off one Black Friday morning. I got a lot of Fat Alberts I will look into the Big Bite stuff in a few years.
  7. I kinda "know" when it's grub time. I'm likely catching them on every color, but looking for the color that's going to catch them best. Like almost anything else, I start with a color based on water color, available light, and assumed aggressiveness of the fish. I tweak from there.
  8. SuperDave you can Watch all three Yoga with Yoda DVD's if you want to. I want to feel that thump (at least some of the time).
  9. Alberto is the best that I have learned. There may be better ones. It's long and slim and flies through the guides. Uni to uni works fine, but bumps through the guides which is irritating and must rob casting distance and worries me that the knot might be damaged eventually. i have also used the surgeons knot where you add a third pass through. It is easier and really seems good enough. I've been playing with it in the trout world. I might use it some in real fishing. really though with the right rod and right drag setting, 6 lb should be plenty for ANY smallie in the world. I have caught 3 monster carp on 6 pound line. They pulled hard and long.
  10. I'm always going to over complicate colors in soft plastics and as a result overbuy. I see Green Pumpkin, watermelon, smoke, chartreuse, and pearl as must haves. I probably have 4 versions of smoke based on flake color. And 3 watermelons. And a pumpkinseed or two. Hard to go wrong with Green pumpkin though
  11. 1) Some of us are thump junkies and want to feel the bite. I'm able to feel bites with a lot of slack thanks to Nanofil and good gear. 2) overworking the bait is a very valid point and something to watch out for. I fish a variety of retreives and try to repeat what works. I really doubt I would catch 4 times more fish going "no touchy" full time. I use a lot of controlled slack and dead sticking. I don't feel a lot of my bites, but I enjoy the ones I feel. 3) it is impossible to overstate the impact of being in front of the boat. Two equally skilled fisherman using the same bait and similar techniques , the guy in front is going to out catch the guy in the back 2:1 Full props to Dave for nudging me into trying the Ned rig again and for lots and lots of great advice along the way. You won't go wrong following his advice to the letter. IMO, he has worked out the best jig head in existence. Any contrarian comments by me while honest and heartfelt shouldn't be taken as anything more than nitpicking or the ramblings of a misguided heretic.
  12. Not sold on Fluorocarbon on spinning yet as a mainline nor as a leader. I've never read the explanation for why I NEED fluorocarbon as leader. I've done better with mono or copoly as leader. My beloved Nanofil provides the sensitivity and casting distance and the copoly lets me re-tie or change lures easily and less expensively. I put on a new leader when I get down to 18 inches or so maybe 12 in a pinch. I'm not sure the fish care at all. I usually run 6 lb leader but might jump up to 8 lb if throwing around a lot of cover.
  13. Is it the same plastic though? That Yum grub caught fish, but it was really durable too. IMO, nothing gets bit like GYCB, but the dang things have the durability of wet toilet paper. I cant make myself buy the GYCB grub.
  14. The Yum Muy grub was too good to be allowed to stay on the market.

I run a 250 HP. I sort of accidentally ended up with one. Most of my throttle time is at 50 mph or less, but I let her run every now and again.
  17. It will be an option for those of us that refuse to pay market price for a pre rap wart, but the loyalist will remain loyal to pre rap wart. Interesting news though.
  18. I've had versions of the pole style. Hound dog is easier for me, but y'all do whatever works for you.

It seems also that some fish are just more susceptible to it than others. Freshwater Drum are more wimpy about it than bass.
  20. That has been the frustrating part of the dog leash Deal. I like being able to get FB loose from 30 plus FOW and if you not exactly over the bait that requires more string as well. I guess I need to carry 2. Shallow and deep versions
  21. I prefer to have one. I'm not a brand loyalist in this type product.
  22. If I have to throw a DD22 to catch them, I'll do without. It's more work winding the bait back in than it is to fight a fish in if and when you get a bite. Eff that noise.
  23. Sell them. Sell them all. It's silly money that guys are throwing away for these baits.
  24. Seems like they might be in the wrong line of work. Did they move down from Chicago or something ?
  25. <4 foot I'm throwing a square bill 4-6 WW >6 or when I want to catch a fish Rock Crawler im not a Wart guy. Get some greens and browns Rock Crawler : Spring Craw, Phantom Green, Phantom Brown, Green Craw, Molting Craw
