  1. Or Louisiana.
  2. I've caught a couple >26 at Bull Shoals. One of which I saw eat my jerkbait. Pretty crazy.
  3. I had a skin mount done of a 6 1/2 lb Largemouth that I caught April 10, 1972. Not bad for a 9 year old, but that's the last mount I will have done. I have a free replica waiting on me in Texas for a 10.40 LMB from Toledo Bend. In general, I don't like replicas but the price was right. I try to get a good photo of special fish. Heck you might want to frame the photo with the actual lure you used. I keep all my legal walleye until they reach 26 inches. I release them >26 inches. That's just a random number I settled on. To each his own
  4. Good Luck Seth. I hope you enjoy it. I love how they load and throw the Jig. They are light weight and plenty sensitive. I only hate that they will go up on price $10 a year until ppl quit buying them. I do have one still in plastic put back for the next uh oh moment.
  5. I'm pretty tender hearted about fish, but the walleye are stocked there for you to enjoy. As long as you caught that fish using legal methods and it was legal size and part of a legal creel limit ; Don't sweat it. Stockton seems to have a lot of walleye
  6. I think so. Lots of quality used boats out there and new isn't terribly pricey
  7. I see no reason why I would ever want to run anything bigger than a 60/40 and really I'm happy with my little 20 HP.
  8. Jets run differently from outboards for sure. Have fun putting it on a trailer in current that first time , Lol.
  9. Heck Man , 1 foot deep is really deep. That's no sweat at all . Really Running shallow is however much under 6 inches you dare.
  10. I just used cheap bass casting sinkers 1/8 thru 3/8 about 20 cents each
  11. Starts tomorrow IF I read the fine print on the mailer correctly. I should have stated that.
  12. Unless, there is some special <1% interest rate deal, I won't finance a boat over three years. I may have to save for 10 years, but I'm not paying it off for > 3 years.
  13. No Doubt that it's the friendships that I've made through being a member here. It is very improbable that I would have met these folks any other way. johnsfolly and I fished yesterday. We had a big time and caught a bunch of nice fish in the high winds. Wind always cheats. I look forward to fishing with him again this year. Lord willing, I'll fish with Billethead again next week. Look forward to fishing with other OA guys the rest of the year.
  14. I save trips to the ER for bigger stuff than a fish hook.
  15. A quick head's up that BPS has the Browning Air Stream rods discounted to $49.97. That's my favorite rod to sling a Zig Jig. I always use the 7 footer, but fishermen whose opinions I trust are happy with 6 footers and 6 1/2 footers. As far as I know, they are all 2 piece rods. - they also have some of the B&M Jig poles 20% off. And lots of other stuff. Again just an FYI
  16. It's not like it's freaking difficult. There is a fraction of a second where there is a sone pressure and then the hook is out and it's back to fishing. it hurts less to jerk it out than it does to leave it in there.
  17. Don't sweat it John. I've pulled hooks from my best friend, my son, and my boss. I think I've pulled 5 hooks so far and I've been on the wrong side of the string twice. Done correctly, it is almost completely pain free.
  18. A P2 saves thousands on the front end on a new one. I've fished out of both and loved both boats. I was looking for a P2 when I found a motivated seller of a Cougar with low hours (<45 hours). Usually, I'm not on big enough water to need the extra length. Cougar isn't a lot longer than the P2, but it can tote the 250 HP vs a 200 HP. I might notice a significant difference if I dropped down to the Sabre.
  19. I wouldn't have used pliers. I would have used the string trick.
  20. I'm a BassCat guy. I absolutely love my Cougar, but I might drop down to Pantera 2 on the next one. If I got unhappy with my Cat, I would look hard at Phoenix.
  21. I would have yanked that jig out of your finger for free and the jig head would still be intact.
  22. Just tell me the BassCat is safe.
  23. I don't lose sleep over the hits that I get without hooking the fish; I lose sleep over all the fish that come over and look at the bait without me ever knowing how close they were to biting it.
  24. Wut?
  25. Sells a boat, buys a boat.
