    Chiefs Victorius!

I'm not surprised. I was confident they would be lots better. I AM surprised that you guys are not satisfied with a win. Beggars can't be choosers. I'm happy with the Saints being 2-0 despite both games by the slimmest of margins.
  2. Thanks for the heads up. I don't need any, but somebody will.
  3. I've gotten burned enough that I won't put much detail online anymore. If I know you, I'll tell you everything in person. If I'm familiar with you online, PM me and I'll try to help. I don't talk online AT ALL anymore about river smallmouth trips. I go. I catch em. I don't talk about it. I really value going and catching the fool out of them and never seeing another fisherman all day. They dump 1.5 million trout in the White River every year. I'll talk trout online, in person, whatever.
  4. Zero chance for a steelhead in Arkansas or Missouri
  5. I don't think you could buy three of the hooks used to make these for a dollar nowadays. I certainly am not getting three of these jigs for a dollar. You are more than welcome to fish 33 cent jigs. I'm gonna stick with Zig Jigs.
  6. Wayne, The jighead design is different, the hook is much better than usual, lots more color options, and all feather no chennile. That and I've caught literally thousands of trout on the Zig Jig at this point since I stated fishing it about 4 years ago. I'll catch 100's more before this year is up. Yes, I could catch trout on other jigs, but I'm really happy with what I am using now.

I guess a lot of those players were friends with the Clintons.
  8. I have to touch the fish. I lose dozens a year just before I touch them. They were not caught.
  9. Phil has years of experience on Taney. His experience and knowledge trumps all. My experience a little further down the White and my ONE trip on Taney has been that I can use 6 lb mono with 1/16 to 1/8 oz jigs and can lots of trout. Again, Good Luck and catch a ton.
  10. 6-3 Bama or tami would be just fine with me.

Chase Daniels was a Saint for a couple of years so I'll always like him for that. He'll do his beat if needed, but they'll win more with Alex Smith.
  12. Yes, you can use your 6 lb braid. Tie a length of sacrificial leader with a thin diameter 4 lb mono, fluro or copoly. I use an Alberto knot, but a uni to uni works fine. I have used 6 lb P Line CX Premium for trout fishing. I've used it over the last few years with Zig Jigs. I've had incredible results. Fish 2-4 lb line if you want to do so, but it is NOT necessary to do so. This past year I've been using Power Pro 4/15 with a leader on one rod. This has helped me a lot on windy days. The last month or so, I've been fishing Berkley Nanofil. It's pretty freaking great. I've been using 8lb, but I bought a spool of 6 lb for trout fishing. It throws better than braid, no noise, and still no stretch. Good Luck! Hope you catch a bunch.

I'm not sure why Chiefs fan assume Alex Smith isn't going to get the job done. Smith was the man until he got hurt in San Fran. Kaepernik is a freak of nature. It;s not like Smith was failing to win games. FTR, I think Smith is going to work out for KC. It's a tall order going against Denver twice, but a real chance for a Wild Card spot exists for the Chiefs.
  14. Tami will get some points, but can they keep alabama from getting lots of points. Alabama 45 , Tami 31

Alabama was hugely sloppy on Week 1. If they roll that out against Tami, they just might lose. I'm a winner either way, I hate A&M and Alabama.

I think LSU is going to be OK.
  17. You don't. You don't need Power Bait either. They both just make it really easy for guides to help non fisherman catch a few trout.

The Petrino thing was going to end BADLY. It just ended BADLY a couple of years ahead of schedule. It's really too bad too because there seemed to be some honest dislike developing between Bobby and Les.

Attending a game in Baton Rouge is an iffy idea. There is a large number of ppl that take it way too far. It isn't family friendly. It isn't appropriate. I don't agree with it or in any condon it, but I do acknowledge it. It is a hostile pa,ce for the away team and their fans. In my opinion, Don't go. It isn't worth it. You might have a great experience, but you'll need thick skin and a little luck.

Didn't Arkansas used to be rivals with aTm? I've tried to explain that the Arkansas / LSU rivarily was very emotionally one sided. The average LSU fan doesn't care one way or another about Arkansas. Yes, we want to beat them everytime we play them, But LSU doesn't hate Arkansas the way they do Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida, and Tulane. There is heart felt dislike for those teams.

I thought LSU looked great. Sure, I wish they hadn't given up the kickoff return for a TD or turned the ball over inside their 10 yard line. TCU was holding receivers in the endzone on multiple plays. This lead to FG instead of TD. Mettenberger had a handful of drops and a handful of throw aways, BUT they were 13-19 on 3 rd down and he was 16/32 for 251 yards, one TD, and ZERO INT's. I'll take those numbers EVERY week. Mettenberger was able to stand in the pocket and throw the ball. I remember 2 sacks, but one was clearly a blown blocking assignment from the RB. Best RB sat because of a bar fight. As a result, LSU had a little under 200 yards rushing. Every one improves from Week 1, but I was very happy with what I saw. Arkansas seems to be lots better. Alabama looked rusty. Clemson's QB is VERY good and TOUGH. aTm sat some defensive starters, but dang, they gave up a BUNCH of yards to Rice. I hope Manzel thinks he can keep running. I can think of three or four SEC teams that will make him pay for that way of thinking. Gonna be fun in the SEC this year
  22. do an archive earch for Football Jig. We had a great lengthy dicussion with many of the guys that really know how to fish a jig weighing in with their opiions.
  23. I'm done FOREVER with Shimano spinning reels over the binding issue. They may have fixed it. I'll NEVER know. I use a mix of Diawas, Quantums, and some US Reels (hands down worst drag system I've ever used. CRAP.) I like St Croix a bunch too. I'd look at the Rage line or the Avid line. The 6'9" MLXF or 7'2" ML Rage). Personally, I'm all good. I have two of the 6'8" GYCB Drop Shot rods. I don't even know if they are sold anymore. They do the drop shot and grub jobs. I also throw <1/4 oz lipless cranks and road runners on them. I have a couple of older 7 foot All Star rods that do a lot of applications for me. Shakey heads, finesse jigs, finesse worns on slider heads, and dragging tubes mostly. Then, I have my two old beloved Shimano Aero 6'6" ML that can do it all, but have been saved for my panfishing because they do that so very well. I did get a cople of the TFO 7 foot light action spining rods. They are mostly a dead stick. OK for white bass and with Nanofil creek smallies, but too dead for crappie or trout jig fishing.

    Got Figs?

Glad to read of your success. I had my Dad start some cuttings for a lady I know. She lives right on the state line on the northeast side of Norfork lake. She has three young trees to plant. I think I will encourage her to keep them in pots until next spring and place them on the south side of buildings in the Spring. Maybe IF they get a good running start and she protects them thru the first winter, they'll make it.
  25. IF she's happy with the Falcon, by all means buy her another Falcon. You MIGHT want to step up to a Cara, but Lowriders are pretty nice. I'm sure the G.Loomis rods are very nice. I'm not at all sure they would be twice as nice as a rod half their price.
