  1. Wait until they stock in October and it is relatively easy.
  2. That is a very nice photo. Well done.
  3. I'm used to summertime wet wading at Rim. but it's a little different wet wading at the Narrows.
  4. Hooray Beer!
  5. I feel like the Browns move up and down river at times, but I have limited experience and a small sample size. Maybe some of the trout guides could chime in on this subject. They make a lot more trips every year.
  6. I've caught them on BSL that way. Knocked the snot out of it.
  7. Haters gonna hate. He screwed himself. He was a difference maker, but they'll do fine without him. Watch the DE's eat QB's alive this year.
  8. A river runt may have caught fish very well in its day, but it will not catch fish nearly as well as some crankbaits do today. Turn in your Top Dollars and go back to Lucky 13's.
  9. I'll be watching the results of BOTh of the new SEC teams very closely. I hope Mizzou will at the very least do better than the aggies. I expect Mizzou to struggle a little bit in the SEC, but I'm not rooting for them to do poorly. The aggies on the other hand can go fall in a hole and die. I'd like to see the aggies lose every SEC game they ever play. Go Tigers! LSU Tigers naturally.
  10. I throw my stuff on 6 lb. if I threw stuff on 4 lb for a while and if I thought it was even a little better, I'd still be throwing it.
  11. Enjoy the $400 dollar check. You're going to get crushed by rising costs in the next few years. The CBO runs the math based on the numbers they' were given and the whole set up was rigged that the true costs would not kick in for a few years.
  12. Soooo they use the males for sex and then throw them out in the cold to die. Nice.
  13. Me. I need AC. Best of luck for a complete repair quickly and inexpensively.
  14. I'm going to have to buy a live trap. Sounds like a good project for today. I hope those stay gone.
  15. I'm interested. hamneedstofish@hotmail.com
  16. That's freakin crazy that it hit Topwater. I've been investing time trying to get one to eat a fly thinking that they would be more likely to eat something small and vague. Great fish. I'm so jealous.
  17. I was really impressed with all the trout I caught. Pretty fish , not a blemish on them. Made me realize how many fish on the Lower White are scuffed up from the hatchery. They were all really full bodied fish as well. Very muscled up and well feed. I really had a change of heart about trout fishing on the NFOW before I caught the she beast. Thanks for the feedback of the relative size of her. That will in all likelihood be the biggest Rainbow I ever catch. I do intend on going after big bows in Alaska sometime or another so maybe there I'll have a shot at bigger one. NFOW certainly is special. It fishes a little different too so I'm sure a guided trip would be a good idea for guys wanting to fly fish it. They need to be ready though. Giants swim there.
  18. Some conjecture and some fact, but both have fish population that are going to be limited by how much water they had during dry times like right freakin now. I'm more interested in the Little Buffalo, but wonder how often you can launch at Jasper and take out at Hasty.
  19. I was mainly wondering if you were going to up the fleet from the two boats you have now. Like I said, I won't be buying one until my Tarpon is dead or my wife takes a Coosa out for a spin.
  20. Maybe y2k's with something trailing behind it would have worked a little better. The fish are (usually) there with some oversized ones in the mix. Smallies are there too, but I always catch mine on bottom bouncing stuff.
  21. Until I saw a few of those beasties swimming, I had no clue those giants were swimming there. How long have y'all had those size trout and how often do y'all catch them? I don't think I'm good enough with a flyrod to have landed her. I've had a few over sized trout hooked on a fly and only landed one or two trout on fly> 20 inches. I'm pretty sure once my wife floats in that , I'll be buying one. Justin do y'all have plans to order more?
  22. Keep it up and you might change that.
  23. GM, IF you take the right line very little dragging. I took the wrong line one time I think and hung on bedrock. I carry a lot of colors in that jig, but I could live if I just had White, Triple Olive, Olive/Ginger, and Brown/Orange. Solid Black or Black/Olive aren't bad, but I reach for the others.
  24. There is an access below the Hwy 101 Bridge. A not insignificant amount of government money was used to put in a boat ramp that would be sketchy to use when there enough water to launch a boat. Head south on Hwy 101. Turn left before you get to the bridge. There is a sign. Wander down to the access. Enjoy the dry river bed. I doubt the sections that go dry every year ever hold many fish even when they have water.. There may be potholes that hold over fish, but I think they are largely mythical.
  25. I didn't bring any fly rods. I did see several pretty decent trout make really showy takes on the surface. I think hoppers would have worked in spots. Where legal I got the smallies on finesse soft plastics. Once I hit the trout water, I used Zig Jigs on 6 lb P Line CX premium. I caught all my trout on 1/8 o Zig Jigs. It was nice to talk to Justin again. I thought the boat rental fee which included the shuttle was very fair. They do a great job at Sunburst.
