Muddy, I figured you would know about the Riverbassin Tour.....go toMy link This was started by Drew Gregory and basicly the event in Rogers, AR will be held @ Lewis Clark Outfitters. The rules are pretty simple....you must measure your fish and take a picture of them on a recomended measuring defice. They take the total measurement of three fish and pics, there must be pics of the measurement. The thing I like about Drew and the Riverbassin tour is they are adaptable on the fly and make adjusments to the tour based on the location. For example the Rogers,Ar stop I heard they are going to allow other species to be measured such as trout, even though it was designed for bass. The part of the tournaments I like, which lends to locals winning these events is that you are allowed to fish several designated streams within 50 to 90 miles of the event location. At the weigh in's they have a huge BBQ and a nice spread of food, we go over the pics and locales of the catches and lures used. That part is actually way more fun that I thought it would be. They are cool events, if you ask me and way less stressful than the Tournaments I used to fish. You should try that one Muddy, it's the closest they have had an event to me.You would have a big local advantage I would think????? I fished an event last year and the winning fisherman had 58 inches of Smallies, not bad???actually I think one fish was a Shoal bass not as impressive as a feat as if it were a Smallie. also Diablo Paddle sports, Jackson Kayaks, and NUcanoe are contributors and you win their kayaks....I really want to win a Diablo, chupacabra...they are friggin sweet!!! a little heavy but sweet!!!!

Sorry Phil, I think someone having a strong opinion on a subject is not a bad thing....far from it.I like the difference in opinions here.Life is way to boring otherwise if you ask me. I am trying to think about your question and it has a lot of varibles. " Our way of fishing" versus fishing off shore in NY or in the Adriondacks stream fishing?? Is "our way of fishing" just fishing @ Taney??? I would have Al Agnew be on payroll and he can explain any type of Ozark fishing to an extent that not many can compare to. Are you talking from a tourism perpective to draw interest to the region to get people here or there beeing Lilley's Landing from NY?? -
Is anyone on this forum planning on fishing the River Bassin Tournament that is in Rogers, AR 06/04/2011 ????? I am fishing in the Rogers, AR stop and the Frankfort, KY stop 04/30/2011. I am fishing in the Oakley Big Bass Tour event by KVD @ Table Rock on 03/26/ and 03/27 also.I f anyone here is fishing any of these events please pm me I would like to meet some forum members if they are going to be at these events. I think a lot of guys here would actually like the River Bassin Tour event, they are very diferent from your typical tournament on a lake to say the least. The KVD event @ Table Rock is a little early and can pose some weather propblems but, all you need is one big hawg!!! My team is goofy we are try to catch the biggest Smallie we can @ the Table Rock event but we will not turn away a big green bass.... not with a $45,000 rig on the line. I hope some guys here will try the River Bassin event, they are pretty cool. I think some of you guys and gals would enjoy it. Scott

So what keeps you posting here at very high rate compared to most???? if there is so much BS and bickering. -
There seems to be several bears working the area surrounding St.Francis State Park on HWY 67.There are several true indications of bear right along the hiking trail in the park.I ask the park ranger about all of the trees being shredded and whether that was from deer rubs and he confirmed that no it wasn't deer doing that to the trees, it was Black Bears and that they had several bear sightings in the vicinity. At first he stated the bears around there were quite small and I had nothing to worry about, after a 20 min conversation he admited the bears were much bigger than he first stated. The ranger also stated he new of a first hand account of bear on his brother in laws yard, he stated this. A large boar was sighted on a property owners land on HWY 47 west of Bonne Terre destroying his bird feeders, he took pics and reported the incident to MDC, they investigated and looked at his pics and estimated the boar to be between 400 and 600 pounds.Thats a nice size boar by anyboby's standards for the lower 48.I personally think there are more Black Bears in Missouri than we are beeing led to believe by the MDC.

I have read stuff from William M. Gray that states global warming beeing caused by man is a farce. His knowledge in the field of global atmoshperic conditions and predicting tropical hurricanes is enough for me. I don't need to watch someone on CNN to tell me the world is boiling and we did it. When you reduce the stations where you take the temps to determine the average global temps from 10,000 to roughly 1,000 do you think you can the results can get gerrymandered???? I need to stay out of this section of the forum!!! -

I knew you would automaticly try to dispell by attacking credentials....but the Pacific is very cold right now, all the earths oceans are cooler right now.Say what you want I don't buy your allegations you read and recite.I don't want anyone to think I want to rape the planet's natural resources just because I disagree with you.I conserve as much as I can, I have been for about the last 18 years. -

I get my data and alleged facts from Meteorologist and Scientist who actually work with the weather and predict it acurately. They also don't rely on a grant for income that is contingent on the results of their studies. Here is a link to a gentleman, Joe Bastardi who is brillant and has predicted trends very well.To me it puts a huge hole in the global warming science. My link some of the weather related terms in this vid may not be to familiar to some, but it is about to get real cold for little bit, with out trying to sound so "Rushbeckian". -

I know when I read someone's opinion on this forum and it is not my opinion I don't immediately assume they are stupid and watch Olbermann, Madow or CNN or even the goul, Mathews . I just chuckle to myself and go on with my life.It must be a trite, sad existance to assume everyone who disagrees with you is stupid and mis-informed.For someone to assume that I don't care about the enviroment and I willingly allow myself to pollute or somehow purposely screw up the enviroment, well thats the biggest load of sh*t I've ever heard.I defy anyone here to challenge and research what I do for the Meramec and Big Rivers.I have devoted a lot of time and money to trying to clean up St.Louis County and rivers.Do I burn fossil fuels???? hell yes!!! I'm not a hypocrite like some on this forum. What happens if the arctic ice dramaticly increases this September over years past??? -

I always question the validity of any article from the New York Times.....give me a break. I don't understand it seems to be a double standard on the reasoning behind global warming. Are we saying it's geting warmer because it has been warmer the last couple of years???? If thats the case as soon as it gets cold for a bit you could say we are heading into an iceage. I tend to agree with Coldwater, it's soo typical of the Post Dispatch to print an article that is lacking so much info and parade it around like it's the ultimate truth. It's kind of like the Global Warming THERORY over all....it's just an opinion. -
Mdc Investigation Of Ray Co. Mtn Lion Killing
Smalliebigs replied to Trout Commander's topic in Conservation Issues
Nice work Jason!!! finally something on here that is not some sort of hear say and speculated opinions. I don't agree with shooting of the Mountain Lion but I wasn't there. I can totally accept the MDC'c decision in this case and I will go on with my life. It's hard to say whether I would give a Mountain Lion a sporting chance to charge me from that range, even if I am armed. I know I wouldn't turn my back to it. I still think the MDC needs to address the issue of Mountain lions in Missouri and start the education blitz on them very fast. Thank you Jason for posting actual accounts from the investigating party and explanations from them directly....I can't stand all the speculation. -

Wow!!!! dude, Skeeter is a good friend of mine and he has a very realistic head on his shoulders. If the term Eco-nut offends you that much, mabey it hit to close to home???Knowing you, Stone your are not an Eco-nut but wow, no need to get so offended.Skeeter has had some first had experience with Cougars of which nightmares are made of.Cougars are a dangerous animals and should not be in an area with the population density of Chesterfield, it will only be a matter of time before a child or a dog is eaten. My nephew plays select baseball @ the Chesterfield fields off of HWY 40 and I am a coach.Last fall one of the moms were walking on the trail there that runs down the levee. She came back horrified that she had seen a Puma. We all disregarded her claim as though she was on too many psych meds, which is all to common in that area. Now I feel bad!!! There are so many deer where that cat is, it's got plenty of food thats for sure. -
Fox 2 news reported a gentleman off of White Rd just west of 141 and Ladue Rd. captured a Mountain Lion on a game cam 01/12/2011. It sounds like Eric and Stoneroller you are going to get your wish....Pumas in the burbs. The poor kitty would have to swim the Missouri river to get to you guys though I just shared a video with you from http://www.fox2now.com Here is the Link: http://www.fox2now.c...in-Chesterfield

Man, sweet jigs you tie there, they look awsome.I use some very similar to what your are using when the water temps get cold. The diagram is pretty sweet to the disection of a Brush Hog.

Rob, sorry about Collin, he is in a better place smiling down on you.I'm also sorry about not reading your post correctly, I didn't realize you wanted to float to that E. I'm talking about another HWY E way further up stream. Scott
