How ironic...the way you think about Sarah Palin is exactly how I feel about the goofball this stupid country voted into office. The more rhetoric I see and hear from the union boss, community organizer the more I want to get out on a river and get away from it all.I don't want to punch him in the face 70 times, I just want airforce one to go down in the Atlantic with Joe and Nancy on board.

Thank you Doug!!!!! Awsome info I'm with Skeeter I'm printing this for my boat, I just had two 700 series Hummingbirds instaled the new rig, they both have GPS. Very helpful!!!!!!!!!!! Skeeter I hope to get out on that Skeeter someday!!!!

Eric, I have been using Brass and Tungsten for about the last 10 years......the brass river weights I buy that weigh 4 to 6 ounces are very expensive but I do it.Even my Brass and Tungsten bullets aren't cheap. The main reason I use brass and here is one of my gaurded secrets, is that brass clicks on pea gravel or stones where lead has a dull thud sound. The clicking is similar to the sound crawdads make underwater.Brass outfishes lead in a river with a stone bottom any day of the week. Since my tournament years I'm convinced that Brass and Tungsten out fish lead and have been fishing them ever since.

Yes a fellow forum member bought the second day

riverat, I'm a little over the top with my post? you just called a guy a wimp from behind your keyboard....I wouldn't call that over the top but in knowing Paul Owensby I highly doubt you would say that man to man to him. I have never singled out anyone on here and have never lied about what I caught.I just don't post pics on here anymore because I don't like getting pm's from want to be river fisherman making lame accusations.I love Al's post's I have met him in person twice and found him to be very delightful and I did not have anything bad to say about him in this thread.I really don't care what you think of my alleged over the top post's you speak of, I fish alot because I am lucky and I take advantage of the fact that I can fish alot.I don't have problems with anyone on this forum.

I don't know what to tell ya Chief and I really could care less what you think of me or anyone else on here.I still think quit a few guys on here are full of jealousy and are legends in their own minds.I don't post pics on here anymore because of the pathetic attitude of some but, I still catch a hell of lot of smallies though.

Are you kidding me!!!! normally I'm so fucking excited about going I can't really sleep the night before. If you say 5:00am I'll be ready at 4:00am, I'm like Trav. Each day on the water is another chance I get to count my blessings and feel whole again, I relish every second whether the fishing is good or not.Now back in the 80's when I was getting hammered all the time there were a few times I was to drunk in the morning to fully function but not anymore.I love everything about it way too much.

The reason above HWY 8 sucks now is because way too many people are hitting it all the time. I use to catch many 18 and over every year up there, it's not like it use to be at all but what river is??? I know where Al went and caught 683 smallies over 17 inches, I can tell by the gravel that he mistakenly allowed us to see by his paddle Hey I have tried to take OAF guys on the river to no avail and expose my supposed secret spots. The only one on here who will go with me is MOsmallies and he has reaped the rewards.I have no problems showing people where I go but, you have to go with ME.Not many guys on here are willing to go where I go and do what you have to to get way out into the dung. Go on a 12 mile float and have to drag your canoe three miles of the twelve.I will give props to Fishingcricket he is like me willing to hit the river with ya and have good time and not be so pretentious about it.I don't need the Smallmouth Alliance to show me how to catch smallies or Chuck Tyron to show me where to go.

Almost Too Much Of A Good Thing...
Smalliebigs replied to Al Agnew's topic in General Angling Discussion
Where are the pics??? sounds like a blast, I know of a few creeks like that. I just can't justify hitting them very often so like you said Al, it's a once every few years sort of thing. Those creeks that are that special need to be left alone and not advertised but don't be suprised who's hitting your secret creek. They are very fragile and the fish don't grow very fast at all.I know I will go very far and wide across Missouri and Arkansas if I have to get my smallie jones on so realisticly there are no secret creeks if you ask me. There are just some most guys won't take the time and energy to go to and research and go hit. -
Largest Table Rock Largemouth Ever...
Smalliebigs replied to zipstick's topic in General Angling Discussion
Zipstick, This is not a Missouri story so it may not be as impressive or hold as much of your attention but, my grandpa and my uncle and I were fishing at Crescent Lake in Crescent City FL, part the St.Johns rivr chain. We were fishing for crappie and I was getting truly bored with the meat hunting for Florida slabs and insisted on trying to catch some bass. My uncle lives down there and was giving me all kinds a crap about fishing for bass because they were just not hitting very well at that time and he needed meat for the fish fry they were planning. He just wouldn't leave me alone and gave me hell for about 30 mins straight until I caught this fish on a spinnerbait. It wasn't a huge bass by Florida standards but it weighed 11 pounds 9 ounces on a digital berkley scale my uncle had in his boat and fought like an absolute warrior. It was deffinitely a good change of pace from the crappie fishing and it was fun as hell talking trash to my uncle the rest of the dayI really like my grandpa's face in the backround, he kind of looks a little pissed???? -
Absolutely awsome!!! she is a cutie!!! good job dad, memories for a lifetime.

Sight Fishing For Trophy Smallies With The 5Wt Fly Rod
Smalliebigs replied to Bman's topic in General Angling Discussion
Bman, I think I will have to start calling you "THEMAN"!!!!! wow what an experience!!!! on a 5wt rod absolutely awsome!!! your son is going to be thanking you for a lifetime taking him to back to that hole!!! I don't doubt your 23 incher story at all, I've caught up 22, so I know there are bigger ones. Fish get caught up in small isolated areas and grow and grow until Bman shows up. I have seen huge smallies sitting in small water that no one has hit for awhile tons of times, you just have to count your blessings and keep it to yourself!!! I think people on this forum need to get out on the river, because I had huge sucess today on the Meramec and I saw Cory did as well. The level of the Meramec went down so fish that people were not able to get a bait to are now available. Hell my wife caught a 19 incher today!!! Good job Bman and I would like to see your Riverpro before I make a rash decision on my jet purchase. I'm going again Monday it was just to good today, mabey I'm beeing foolish with the heat comming tomorrow???, I don't know, but after today I have to otherwise I'll be second guessing myself all week. -
Gary, that is sweet!!! I'm glad I could help and can't wait to chasing some hog smallies with ya!!!! stay in touch...the jet is on the way!!! By the way that is cool looking little rig!!

the Tadpole and trailer are gone, a new friend from the forum bought it today...thanks Gary I hope you get good use out of that trailer.
-
I know this si the wrong spot for this but I thought more guys go to this thread. I need to move a boat out of one of my storage spots to make room for a new jet. This is a 2006 Tracker Tadpole, it is in great shape if you ask me. I always take very good care of my boats and take pride in that.It has two built in seats and is a great boat for lakes with motor restrictions and small streams. It comes with, which is the best part of the rig if you ask me, a 2005 Trailstar trailer also in great shape. The trailer can be used for canoes or kayaks and can accomidate up to a 16 or 17 foot boat. I bought this off a guy who had a stroke and I had him insured, he only used it about 3 times and only used about 3 to 4 times. I was asking $700 for the package. Now I need someone to make me a reasonable offer I figured I give someone on this forum which I love a shot at this rig before I put it on craigslist. I saw the boat only on iboats.com going for $785 and it is a 2004.Here are the pics....call me if you are interested in seeing them or buying....314-629-4778....Scott aka Smalliebigs

I need to get rid of one of my many vessels. It is a 2006 Tracker Tad Pole, it's a cool little jon boat with two bult in seats. I only used it three times actually, and it works great and is in very good shape if you ask me, I tend to be very anal in the way I take care of all my boats. It does not leak a drop and is ready to fish, it's perfect for small lakes and lakes that have outboard restrictions. It also comes with a 2005 Trailstar trailer, with what they call a galvashield coating on it. To me the best part of this package is the trailer, it can accomidate up to a 16 or 17 foot boat. The trailer has buddy bearings and in very good shape also. It's a great railer for a canoes or a kayaks. It has a 2 inch ball hitch. These two are beeing sold as a package for $700, now I just want someone to make me a reasonable!!!! and they are yours, these are in the St.Louis area if you would like to see them call me on my cell 314-629-4778......Scott aka Smalliebigs here are some images of the two::: I figured I would give someone on this forum a shot at this rig before it goes to craigslist where it will go fast.

MO, nice report from Trout Lodge where you can't walk, run, sit, talk and most of all drink!!!! Pretty soon I am going to call Malibu and tell them about your adventures on their kayaks and get you a job with them marketing their kayaks!!!! I have offically blown off the Jacks Fork trip, this river has to many people on it for me screw that. If I wanted to get on the water with this many people I could have gone to LOZ. I am going to be back later today....call me.... time to hit something where no one is at hopefully!!!!! Man you said that bass was fat but you didn't say it was Oprah fat, that thing wasn't missing any meals.

Korkers will not keep the gravel out at all!!! I guess I don't slip as much as you guys, I don't think I am hitting as many trout streams that have the minerals that produce the moss and veg build up to make the rocks slippery. The Keen Hood River has three holes on the botton of the soul on the outside with a tight wire mesh screen that allows for great drainage.Like I said E, my buddy thinks they look gay but he is always stopping and removing gravel from his shoes while I walk ahead.I will leave you with this as my stupid young, punk nephew has just arrived, the Keen Hood rivers don't provide as good of support as the shoes you are looking at.They do have a hundred times more support that an aqua sock, they are simmular to a tennis shoe in tha respect, but I walk for miles up and down creeks with these on and have no problems.I am a river and creek walking freak though!!!!!I tend to agee with Gavin the Korkers would actually be great if you wear a neoprene sock of some sort to keep the gravel out, I am just not willing to do that, it would be tough to size them to do that I think. For me it's all about keeping the gravel outof shoes and keeping my old feet comfortable....p.s. I also found a guy in Tennessee who was selling the Keen Hood Rivers for $39.99, I couldn't help myself!!!!! they were to cheap
-
Eric, you left off Keen Hood River boots, a little pricey but I can tell you from buying several different wading shoes and spending a ton of $$$, I personally will never buy another shoe again for wading unless they quit making them.I am so paranoid of Keen quit making them I have three back up pairs, this kills my wife!!!The Cimaron II's are not bad, I have a pair of 11 1/2's only used twice if you want them, The Simms pursuits are a waste of $100 + dollars. Why do you need felt soles???? Do not get the Korkers!!!! big waste of time if you don't like gravel in your shoes.I will admit the Keen Hood Rivers look a little like Jeremy Wade should be wearing them, a little gay looking but you will not get gravel at least I never do and they have a great support in the soul of the shoe, but they are not felt like you want. Hey if you wear an 11 or 11 1/2 call me you can a pair of Cimarons, I hate those pieces of dung, once again a big waste of my money for me personally. They sit in my garage in my kayak corner unused. That is just my opinion , which on this forum is getting very low at this point. If I could just get my nephew to get his butt back here so we can get on the river I could quit trolling on this forum. I'm sitting here on my iphone waiting to hit the Jacks Fork, way up on the Jacks Fork and it's not as shallow as I thought it was going to be but we have gone anywhere yet so who knows.

Oaf Angler Is, Eeeek, A Baitfisher Of Smallies..
Smalliebigs replied to jdmidwest's topic in General Angling Discussion
I am trying this from my iphone so I hope it works. kkirchmer, I just wanted to say I am truly sorry for calling you a tool. You are correct, me calling you a name without me ever meeting you or knowing you personally is truly immature and wrong. So I am saying that I am sorry. If you felt I was threatening you in anyway that is not the case at all. I am a complete shithead sometimes and let my emotions get the best of me. After seeing that you are true stuart of the rivers and smallies I feel much better. I am one of the biggest advocates of the preservation of smallies you would ever want to meet and sometimes it is to a fault. I will never appologize for my views on the preservation of river Smallmouth Bass in Missouri, it's just something I will never budge on. I will take that opinion to my grave. So I just wanted to say I'm sorry kkirchmer, I'm a jackass!! now it's time to float on the upper, upper Jacks Fork.......see ya
