  1. Got out for the afternoon yesterday. Caught a few small Kentucky on a drop shot worm at 40’, over deeper trees. They wouldn’t hit the spoon for me. Water temp was about 51 in the Kimberling area. I stopped around point 6 on the way back and hooked into this nice smallmouth. He hit a swimbait in about 20’ of water on a gravel bank roll off. He put up quite a fight!
  2. Hello, my Dad and I fished out of Meramec State Park on Sunday. This was our first trip to the Meramec with my Blazer jet boat. We fished the bluffs 1/2 mile above and below the park ramp and had a great day. We started about 1PM and fished till 6PM. We caught smallmouth, largemouth, spotted bass, crappie and goggle eye. My Dad was using a green color small shad rap and I rotated between a 3" white swimbait and a whopper plopper. The best smallmouth we had stalked and devoured the plopper but came off, he was probably 15" or so...all in all, we had about 20 fish for the day. The water was moving pretty good but was a little skinny in spots. We saw one canoe and that was it for the day. Next time, we may try Onondaga or further downstream (St. Clair).
  3. Fished a few hours last night and had a great night. I fished mid-lake between point 5 and 6, mid way back in the creek arms. I started with topwater while it was cloudy and switched to a wacky rigged senko since I could see followers. I had 15 fish and 3 that I missed. Had about 7 small keepers in the mix and almost had a grand slam! I had the boat in 20-25ft of water casting to the bank. I didn’t see anything locked on beds, but I’m sure they were there. I just fish for fun so this is about as good as it gets for me. Headed back out in a few...
  4. Fished from 1PM - 6PM today....they didn't want the Senko in the high sun so I switched to the Ned rig and fished deeper. Caught a few on that and then a few more on a 4" swimbait once I got some shadows and wind. Ended with 7 total, 3 keepers. Same areas in Spring Branch...lots of big boats out today. 65 degree water in Spring Branch.

  6. We probably saw you out there today. We were out for an hour this morning, then afternoon 2-6. We fished from Cow to Mill and had 3 keepers up shallow (2 spots, 1 smallmouth). All on cole slaw spinnerbait from the bluff to backs of creeks.
  7. Coming down DD, point 5 to point 7 looks stained at the most (from the road). Doesn't look too bad here at the house ramp either. Saw boats fishing and running around point 7. update: we fished from 5-7 this evening. 7’ visibility and no real debris except some leaves and small branches. Water was a little milky in Spring Branch...53 degrees. More bird obstacles than anything else. No fish for us...back out tomorrow.
  8. I'm headed down tonight with my son...we were hoping to fish tomorrow evening and then Friday/Saturday. We are around Point 5/Spring Branch. Looks like it's coming up quick but with the gates open that should slow the rise. http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/data/tabular/htm/tabrock.htm
  9. Had a great time at the BassBoatCentral Midwest Rally out of Bull Shoals Boat Dock this weekend. We caught lots of fish on the cloudy days but everything was tougher on Saturday with the high sky. Still a great time. Here's some GoPro footage of the bass at BSBD too:
  10. Awesome! Glad to have all that available right up the hill. Kudos to Kelly and the Ulrich team.
  11. Nice one!
  12. Can't wait to check it out!
  13. Awesome report and insight on the bushes....what advantage do you think this jig gives you over a regular spinnerbait? Just the loose head?
  14. Way to go!
  15. I use an Aqua-Vu on our dock. It's a few years old and is the micro camera with LEDs. It's not easy to control, but you can spin the camera just by spinning the line with your fingers. The LEDs light it up pretty good and I can see on the bottom in 30-40'. The kids love seeing fish and all the junk on the bottom. In direct sun, it's tough to see the screen, but works great on the dock. We are around point 5 so it's pretty clear here.
  16. Pete, if nobody responds. I'll run over there Friday and check it out. Hopefully, we don't get anymore rain and the lake will come down a bit before then.
  17. Interesting study on bass movement after release... http://www.bassmaster.com/slideshow/how-far-bass-move-after-release
  18. Great post and great article, Donna! I had my kiddos out this weekend as well. We waited until the BFL/Pro-Am was done and fished till dark. They don't take it too serious (lots of breaks/naps if the fish aren't biting), but we still have a great time.
  19. I added a Bass Boat Technologies mount to mine. Gets it off the RAM mount and gives it a more secure base. I bet BBT has a mount that will fit your boat.
  20. Glad to be a sponsor and glad to be fishing it. Get your entries in!
  21. Another vote for Mr. Jones and Mr. Weed...great assets along with several others on BBC. I put MK Talons on my Z521 and love them. They are helpful at TRL as I mostly fish by myself and make launching much easier. Fishing LOZ a few weeks ago, they were great for dropping and holding in a pretty stiff wind. I went with Talons after seeing/hearing they fixed some of the bugs. I was also doing the install myself and didn't want to attempt the hydraulics. The mounts are rock solid and the tilt mount makes them easy to stow.
  22. We have a condo on Indian Point that has been on the market for a year, maybe I need to add crappie hot spot to the listing!
  23. The frame shop in Branson West has some cool prints of the bridge from before the lake filled. The wife won't let me get one for the house, but I would still love to have one.
