  1. It is amazing how consistent those guys are.
  2. Check the fuel lines for ethanol erosion. I had a boat last year that ethanol had eaten the lining of the fuel lines and I had all kinds of gunk hitting the filter and causing issues.
  3. I use the shallow water blue lenses and love them. They're good in all cloud/sun conditions.
  4. Congrats! Beautiful boat and I hope Pete/Jerry treated you right. I bought my Ranger up there in February, great place to do business.
  5. With all the rain coming this week/weekend, think the fish will come up shallow or find some running water once it starts to rise?
  6. I have an HDS7 at bow and the console, I was just trying to see the differences in the LSS and the U/S transducers. Didn't mean to hijack your report. Hope to get out with you again soon and will give these settings a try. Off to kayak fish around the cove today...good luck everybody.
  7. It was new in February...It was a complete guess at 80% (I like even numbers). I'll give it a try at 72-78% and see how that looks. Does your colorline % match the sensitivity? I keep my back unit on, but that ducer is on 800khz so I didn't think it would interfere. I run the front at 200khz but need to experiment with 83khz. Googling colorline setting now...thank you very much for the info.
  8. Bill, awesome stuff. Can you explain your settings on your HDS unit? It doesn't appear your sensitivity is very high, but you can obviously see everything very well. I have an HDS7 on my bow with the universal sonar in my Minn Kota. I can bump my sensitivity up to 80%, bring up my ping speed, and see my dropshot/spoon if I'm sitting still. If I move at all, I guess my bait gets outside the code and I lose it. I have never seen results like you have up above. I'm just curious of your sensitivity, colorline and settings if you don't mind sharing. I'm sure the U/S limits me some but I've tried it on the stern as well under my LSS transducer and still have never got as good as you have it there. Thanks again.
  9. Lol...no doubt it will be quite an adventure at first. I have the GoPro all mounted up too so I'll be sure to share if I get anything good.
  10. Hello, Just purchased a 12.5' Perception Caster SOT off CraigsList. Gonna try it out around the cove at Table Rock first, then try to hit some of the rivers. Can't wait! Lots of good info here!
  11. I hear that about a lot of places on the lake!
  12. My son and I took a ride from Rock Lane to Eagle Rock earlier this year breaking in the boat. It is beautiful up there and I wish I had explored the Roaring River arm a little more. The scenery looked amazing up there but I didn't want to get too far off the beaten path given the gas I was consuming. Anybody fish that arm and have any general reports?
  13. I just sold my Z521 that was the exact same color. Downsizing a little, but got a new boat out of it! I do love the color, always looks great. I was 'field testing' a rig my buddy came up with. It was definitely pretty thick wire. I was using the Mann's a-rig on Sunday which was much lighter and lighter wire. The Mann's was a little light in my opinion...somewhere in the middle would be great. I am using a small willow blade on the other arms.
  14. Threw mine on 30# flurobraid (Spiderwire)...I would say it was about 3/4oz? Maybe a little more? I used very light jig heads.
  15. Nope...white/silver Ranger...pic attached. Just ordered it from Angler's Port Marine up in Warsaw. Love the boat so far and can't say enough about Pete and the guys up at Angler's Port. Fished around Kimberling City yesterday from 12-3. Tried Fisher Creek, mouth, middle and back with the swimmin' fluke a-rig. Found 51 degree water but no fish. Moved over to the KC side of point 7 and changed over to grubs. Found this guy but really expected more. He was in 10' of water at 48-49 degrees, out probably 20 yards from the bank. VERY WINDY so we decided to pack it in with the rain clouds moving in.
  16. Went out today about 2 and drove from Rock Lane to Eagle Rock breaking in a new boat/motor. Whew, what a ride...lake was beautiful and saw plenty of fishermen out. Fished across from Eagle Rock Marina for about 30 minutes before heading back, had an a-rig tied on with 5" Kinami shad grubs. I was on the bluff wall fishing down about 15' and got this nice smallmouth. This is my first fish on the a-rig (first time trying it). Heading out tomorrow to try it again.
  17. Signed up and can't wait!
  18. On the water, Long Creek has 87 non-e, Bent Hook (Big Cedar) has 89 non-e and everybody else has non-e premium. I hate to pay the extra on the water, but I'll do it for non-e. My motor wants 87 but I've been running 89 to help the idle.
  19. Because I sure didn't catch any fish! Only got out for a couple of hours yesterday, started about 10:30 and fished until 12:30. Fished from points down by the 86 bridge up to the State Park. Tried my new Luck 'E' Strike Pro Blue jerkbait, jig, grub and spoon on pretty slick water. Couldn't find any wind at all which surely didn't help and tried 10-40' of water. Caught a few perch on the spoon at 20' in the tree tops, and a couple more with the grub but no bass at all. Water temp was 47 out deeper when I first got out and was about 51 in shallow water when I headed in. Probably had 15' of visibility. The wind picked up just as I was heading in (of course). Sure was a nice day to be out though with only a few boats on the water.
  20. Ahhh...might see you this weekend!
  21. Was that you in the cove of Indian Point Marina? We were in the White/Black/Silver Z521. Old guy, little guy and me Saturday. You were heading in just as we were heading out of the cove.
  22. Hey guys, fished around Indian Point Saturday for a couple hours and Sunday morning. Went out with my son and father-in-law and found a lot of small fish out on gravel points (10'-40') and back in the coves in 20' of water. Caught a bunch on the grub and they were inhaling it. They were all about 8-10" smallmouth and kentuckies, but he was very happy with them. Had some surface activity back in the cove but they didn't want a wake bait or the grub. No keepers (or anything close to a keeper) but we had fun catching the little ones.
  23. I sure hope you're right too...I'm heading out Saturday and Sunday with my son and he will hold you accountable if we don't catch anything.
  24. About the same for me...I was seeing a little lower temps around the dam. I would see a few minnows jump but that was it. I did see some surface activity in a calm pocket (across from the dam/point 1) but they didn't want anything I was throwing.
