  1. Im on the Android OS and would be interested in checking it out for free ninety nine .
  2. Looks like a good option to have. I personally will keep using Opera Mobile to view the forum on my phone and use the $3 bucks for flies. But I am cheap .
  3. Not to be argumentative here, but GREAT people.
  4. I have been drooling over these since it was first posted on the Fiberglass Manifesto that they were coming out. Can't decide if I should pull the trigger or not yet. If I do I will get one from the lighter end of the line and outfit it with my grand pappy's old gem 2094 to keep the retro theme going. Look forward to seeing how it works out for you...
  5. I tried out a pair of Costas that were one of the deckhands on an offshore trip last year. They were amazing. They obviously put my $15 Berkleys to shame but what impressed me was how much better they "worked" than the other deckhands Oakley glasses. Since they were used on the big water he had the blue mirror glass lenses but IIRC the green mirror, silver mirror and copper options are best suited for sight and stream fishing. Also I would definitely go with glass or polycarbonate lenses (there is a whole 'nother thread on that topic alone around here somewhere). I have heard that you do have to watchout for the quality of Costas that are produced in China. I believe I read that in multiple reviews on Steep and Cheapwhich runs some pretty good deals on Costas, but all I have personally seen listed originated in China. If and when I have the coin I will probably go with a pair of Costas, unless I find a super deal on a pair of Smiths, which I haven't heard an ill word of either. Hope this helps more than it confuses
  6. Thanks for sharing your outing. The Eleven Point is pretty high up on my list of places to hit.
  7. You should have asked my permission to copy my likeness for the character of Don Paradise you know?!
  8. I've driven both. How do you think I knew I wanted to 6.0??? I do happen to have an lq4 laying around though....
  9. lol he said rods, not jugs, but I'm sure he will be sure to keep the jugs he won't have out of people's way
  10. Your killin me smalls, my wifes blonde hair would go nicely with that color, but she (I) wants the 6 liter.
  11. I think it's the big KC - Kimberling City. Not that little dot on the map where you reside.
  12. It is tempting. Obviously the fins and pump don't get any smaller but how small does the tube it's self pack down? Also, what's the model name so I can dig up some additional specs?
  13. This has gone on long enough. Pics or it didn't happen. (I hope my humor made it through as well)
  14. LOL DUH. I did read the report I promise! I have trouble with line control on the water myself sometimes too, and I haven't been fly fishing too long either. You guys won't get any judgment from me, but I am sure we could trade pointers. Also, the Bass Pro here in town offers free casting lessons, and I bet they also skim the surface of line control on the water. Even if you guys are competent casters I bet it would still be worth it to see if your nearest store offers anything similar. It's something I will do on a day that I have an a.m. free but not enough time for a fishing trip.
  15. Not quite yet, he is 4. His interest is there, he asks or talks about fly fishing on a nearly daily basis. Now that the days are getting warmer and longer I will have him out in the yard with a fly rod in his hand in no time. How is your boy with a fly rod?
  16. That explains EVERYTHING - this whole time I thought "snagged" in your user name was for you, like you either hooked yourself or got hung up on the cable or something. Snagging a fish makes much more sense. Feel kinda silly that it didn't click sooner actually. Thanks for clearing everything up.
  17. There about sentence three or four, I wasn't quite sure which direction this story was heading... I was concerned if the story was going to fit in to the pg rating of this forum about sentence 9 and even more so with the closing word of sentence 12, followed by the entirety of sentence 13. Glad my concerns were for naught, and good on you guys for doing right. But there has to be some back story on the vest too, right?
  18. The benefit that jumps out at me is being able to switch the "top" fly without having to retie the bottom one as well. Additionally, unless they are both snagged, it would seem that the odds would be in your favor of only breaking off one fly instead of both.
  19. ls1 or ls2, Sir Cricket?
  20. Wow, very nice fish and picture. Thanks for sharing. Any weight/length measurements or estimates? I imagine it was probably pretty heave for its size, judging by it's diet.
  21. FWIW I will post all of my reports on these little streams, but I will not say where on them, or possibly not even give the name but post enough telling pictures so anyone who knows anything about it would recognize it easily enough. I am not telling you what to do at all, and don't disagree with your post one iota, and I DO hope you continue to post (as I enjoy them) at the level of description of your choice. p.s. I am dying to fish BSC so if you ever need a fishing partner shoot me a pm. It seems difficult to get away sometimes but I would be more than happy to fish with you anytime I could swing it.
  22. Actually, I did not. It was a short trip, about 3 hours, and I did a lot more relaxing this time. When I first started fly fishing I decided it would be a good idea to become proficient at one technique and then move on to another, become proficient at it and so on rather than being acquainted, but not proficient, with multiple techniques for a long time. So after multiple successful trips to Taney, one to BSSP and your place each I was confident enough in my indicator nympgin abilities to move on the next technique and I had promised promised myself that I would move on to dry flies, but my order of dires had not came in the mail yet so I had a dozen EHC which I could not buy a strike on, and a single spinner of some sort that came in some variety pack. The spinner was successful, drawing 3 strikes in 5 drifts: one that came at the end of the first drift a millisecond after I lifted my line from the water to start a new drift, another on the next drift that I flat out missed and again on the 5th and final drift in which I broke my 7x off with an overly excited hook set. The next weekend I am back in Cabool I will be back down with a stocked fly box Also, sending you a pm on another subject to avoid further hijacking.
  23. HAHA I have some good friends and family in Grove (just don't tell anyone) and played baseball with a great group of guys from coach pitch up until high school because Cabool's program was worthless. But I literally lol'd at this line: "If you look at the history up there, all the Grovers just follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, a spirited people." On a side note, did you find the 5 $1's at the top of your stairs weekend before last? I was too lazy to message you to see if you did.... If you did find it, it was mine. If you didn't find it this is just crazy talk and I was never there
