  1. Oh, I'll be back. Wife and I bought a lot in Pioneer Point (point 10) and we will be building and retiring down there in a couple of years. We've been coming down for 35 years and have always wanted to end up there.
  2. Just returned home from our 2 week trip to the rock. I'd like to thank everyone on the forum for all the tips and information that is posted on here that I believe made my fishing more successful. Mostly fished the lower to mid James. Always great information here and I'm glad so many folks are willing to share. Hope to get back in the fall. Tight lines to all, Bob.
  3. I was out tonight from 5:30 to 8:00. Bagged 17. Sm, LM, K's and whites. Biggest white.... 18".Biggest SM 20". Lots of other keepers. Silver Dixie jet and the Ned got the job done. Most bites came in 14-24 Fow. All gorging on shad. Whites chasing shad to surface. I'll see if I can get some more whites in the morning. Whites are good eaters, everything else goes back. Water up almost a foot today. I hear it can go up another tomorrow. Water in the James will probably start to cloud up again tomorrow with all the water coming down from Springfield. Like Cindy-Jo said.... Find shad.... Find fish. Good luck out there.
  4. Aunts Creek.... Mid James looking very good. Was in there this afternoon. Rain tomorrow and Saturday..... Don't know what that will do.
  5. Yes
  6. 73° fishing in 12 to 18 fow.
  7. Was out from 7 to 10 this morning. Bagged 29. K's and sm mixed. Water clearing up nicely. Ned rig on Dave's 1/8 oz head in green pumpkin orange and Canada craw. 3.8 keiteck on a jika rig in electric pumpkin shad. Lots of keepers. All still swimm'in. Had a good time this morning.
  8. I was out from 8 to 11 this morning and caught 16. Mostly K's. Slight rock drop off in 8 to 18 fow . 3 keepers. All came on Ned in "the deal" color. Bagged 15 in the same spot yesterday afternoon and caught half of them in the "pearl" color. I know it's not normal, but they seem to be liking these lighter colors up in this stained water. I'll be down here for a another 12 days, so I'll try to keep everyone informed as to what's going on in this neck of the woods. Quite a bit of debris, but it's easy to dodge. Good luck out there.
  9. I understand that the Ned has been good. Also the Keitech. I fish those alot of different ways. I'll keep reading and hope that they drop the water a bit.
  10. I am coming down on Thursday for a couple of weeks. Last time I was down was the last week of October. Lake was 4 or 5 feet low then. Now I'm going to deal with 16 or 17 feet high. What's a guy to do? I am following the posts tying to get a handle the bite. I can tell you that I would be lost without this forum. I am staying in the mid James up by the hideaway Marina. Thanks for the heads up about all the debris. Most of all, I hope all you local folk are faring this latest flood okay. Any suggestions would be appreciated. See you all soon.
  11. People tell me that I don't look like my brothers, so I must have come from the mailman! (this thread is beginning to go down hill along with the water)
  12. Just a thought. I know that the dams (and lakes) were built for flood control. What would happen if all of the structures were not in place? What would be the effects of the surrounding areas after a storm like this?
  13. I just read a forecast that said that the Ozarks could get a foot of rain if it all pans out. YIKES!
  14. Ya, I agree this thread needs to get rolling. I'm coming down for my annual 2 week vacation on May 11th. Beginning to get a little concerned.
  15. I have a Johnson 130hp on my boat that is going to require a bit of service. I know that there's a lot of good marine shops down there, but I am wondering which one would service my Johnson. Voltage regulator or stator I believe. Thanks, Bob.
  16. I was kind of jealous that I could not be there to participate in the tournament, but after looking at the weather down there, maybe not so much. Looks like all that rain has raised cain with the lake as well. I will be down for 2 weeks starting May 11th. Hopefully, things will stabilize by then. I hope all of you that fished had a good outing, all things considered. Probably, lots of good chow anyway.
  17. Oh good.... I'll cancel the 5000 I just ordered! ?
  18. I'm definitely going to try them on my underspins. I have not tried them that way.
  19. 1/8 to 1/4 tungsten bullet weight. I prefer to "float em" a little bit.
  20. I've been throwing them on the rock for a long time. I like to Texas rig them. That's been good to me. The pro special is my best color.
  21. KFC....if your coming from Kentucky lake , your gonna love Table Rock if you haven't been here before. I own a cabin on a little lake outside Metropolis Il., so I;m pretty familiar with Kentucky/Barclay. Wife and I bought a lot on the lake last October. We will be building and moving down to the Rock in a couple of years.[ retiring ]. The rock 'fishes' a lot different than Kentucky lake. Bit of a learning curve. Good Luck and have fun. Weclome to the forum. This is the best place to learn.
  22. Prayers your way cheese. Good luck.Hope everything turns out okay.
  23. What were those slips selling for? Just curious.
  24. If you saw it on the Internet, it must be true!....
  25. I would guess that most of the people working in those places are retired folk, high school kids or younger people bidding time looking for a better job. They do their best. Their not pros in fishing, camping, guns etc. Their there to help you the best they can. Suggest that you all just give them a break. Just my thoughts.
