  1. Just saw this. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41692545/ns/us_news-environment/
  2. Thanks for posting Duane. These will no doubt be some interesting meetings.
  3. Through the efforts of Phil and the Branson TU, the stations are going in at Taney also. Dano
  4. A little search for info on your problem revealed this post from 2002 "Mike is right on this one. I watched Borger at the Sportsmen Show throw a new 555 before his demo. It made a whistling noise when he cast it. He thought it might be the guides on the rod. They switched the rod and it made the same noise on the new rod. It was a brand new line too. Sounds like they have some engineering to work out." Personally I prefer the Cortland 444 Peach floating lines. Don't think you can go wrong with them.
  5. What kind of noise? Does it sound line the line is slapping the rod? Is the line casting as normal?
  6. Prayerful thoughts to you all. Vince is one solid fellow. Thanks for the update Phil.
  7. UFO, unidentified fishing object? Good job.
  8. Bittersweet, but it's all for the best. Sure love that part of the creek.
  9. Glad to have you welcome.
  10. Nice Report Bman...thanks.
  11. Glad to have you Jim.
  12. When fishing the streams for warmwater species, just a straight piece of 6 or 8 lb mono. Works for me.
  13. Think you could get the youngens to help me with my double haul? Very nice.
  14. Seen it a few times. Good show.

  16. Hahaha, I was just about to post Chuck...
  17. Davy Wotton. He has some DVD's available on tying and fishing traditional wet flies and soft hackles including multi fly rigs. Dano
  18. Swinging a soft hackle with a bit of chop on the water is very effective. Dano
  19. Then there is this: http://www.recycledwaders.com/
  20. Agreed, my PF9 beat me to death. There are factory fixes for the early releases at no charge. I traded the Kel Tec to my Police Detective son in law for a .40 cal Taurus. Dano
  21. The next person who uses profanity and I have to edit it will cause this thread to close. Phil and I talked about this in other threads and I am not going to continually have to go in and edit items that people should have the decency to leave out. There are those who have asked us to not allow it primarily because their children and others who may be offended sometimes come to this site to read and learn. Sorry this is just the way it is going to be. Dano
  22. Dave is right Okuma makes the Prestige and Prestige Plus as well. Like the spools, parts are also interchangable. Dano
  23. Same here tie them with a tungsten bead in the middle and sometimes dub over the bead to hide the flash. Dano
  24. Just my humble opinion. Go to each one and see who welcomes you, most friendly, the most involved in conservation, willing to help new members with skills and tying. I think you will get a general idea after a meeting or two as to which one to join. Dano
