  1. I think I see gooseberry pie on the menu.
  2. Raised beds are the way to go. The lettuce has to go today (for compost). Hate to see it go but I hope to have more this fall. Need sun for everything - cukes are kinda pale.
  3. Take care & get well soon. That may take some P. T. to get them working again.
  4. Years ago at Beaver Creek I went to the toilet . Opened the door to find a mad guy with a dip net dipping down in the toilet and slinging it all over the place. Had to find another place to pee. Hope he found whatever he was dipping for and you find your knife.
  5. What few hb's I have wait their turn because of the downy woodpeckers. The hummers don't seem to like peckers or wasps. So far, my ant protection cans are working.
  6. The west side (left side going upstream) is the deep side. There are a few docks that you can fish for a couple hundred yards. Might be a good place to try the Ned Rig. After that, a riffle, then another deeper hole with a bunch of downed trees. Used to be pretty good for lm bass there. This may have all changed after the winter flood (haven't been this year). Could also try for crappie down by the dam. Good luck.
  7. Looking good - the lettuce & spinach has been great this year. I'm starting to turn green around my eyes.
  8. At last - a couple of birds are showing up. Actually maybe 1/2 dozen hb"s are using the feeders.- a few birds at the feeder.
  9. Done.
  10. Soak them in salt water over night -bread them -fry them - eat them -enjoy them (red meat and all). Better than night baseball.
  11. BH - You win - I am up to two. Will put in new juice Sunday -maybe that will help.
  12. I still only have one bird & I don't see it every day. Both feeders are still full - anyone know how long the mix lasts?
  13. I think I would thin rabbits not radishes but you can't hurt them - they must be transplanted.
  14. Way to go -Mrs. BH.
  15. BillitHead - I cheated on the "B" in the BLT today.
  16. You could try The Pot Hole in Forsyth, Mo. (end of Taney - start o Bull Shoals). You never know what you may hook into there.
  17. I think I only have one bird using my feeders - it is small & skinny.
  18. This no show makes me wonder if there has been die off over the winter. Have only seen two this year. One Sun. & one Wed. morning.
  19. You hold it near your face and I will take the pic.
  20. At last one lonely HB came in for drink late Sunday eve. It left before I could get a pic.
  21. Welcome -lots of good info here.
  22. Uh-oh.
