    What's Cooking?

Ahh the age old goose recipe, (which in fairness is used on many things), beat it into submission, season it enough to kill the normal flavor and fry it, make gravy. and for all the making fun of it, it looks good, I mean it has mashed taters and gravy. What doI know I have made gravy after frying liver and onions.
  2. I don't think there will be a problem keeping the 1/8th% sales tax for MDC. Lots of us like to complain about what MDC does, or does not do, and there is always room for improvement, but when we look around at other states we realize we have it pretty good on the conservation side of things.
  3. Good healthy looking fish.

    What's Cooking?

OK here is my last update on my colonoscopy today. For anyone who is going to have one in the near future, no worries, it was a lot of hype over very little. The prep is definitely the worst part, lemon & or lime juice in each glass with ice definitely helps, drink it down in tall glasses and simply work your way through the results. The next morning power drink the stuff so you are finished with the results when you have to get in the car to drive to clinic. The rest is nothing, wear the manly man gown and about 30 seconds of banterior with the Dr. and crew you realize they gave you the "happy shot" without telling you. No idea what happened next, except they rolled me back to recovery and said get dressed when you can. Honestly wasn't even very hungry so wandered around town doing little errands until I sobered up. Then to the Chinese buffet. I didn't even hit it very hard, was kind of a let down. Although right now my insides are having some sort of war deciding what to do with the sudden influx of food. Should have just gone to Popeyes for chicken and red beans and rice. See I tied it back to food.

    What's Cooking?

Hmm not sure about the night crawlers or vicrims, but I would at least try the rest. Put some big ole carp fillets in the smoker, ain't too bad.

    What's Cooking?

Smoked peas? I have this mental image of Chief loading his smoker with pork, and then running around grabbing anything he can find to put in it around the edge as well, tomatoes, peppers, apples, grapes who knows.

    What's Cooking?

Well it has begun. Don't know how they make a clear liquid taste this bad, and I am only on glass one. Hmm as for foods I dislide it would be a very short list, I like nearly all vegetables and fruits, love beats and Brussels are pretty good. Pawpaw would probably be my least liked fruit, I can eat it but certainly wouldn't go out of my way to.get one. Tuna casserole nope don't have to eat it anf am not going to, spices, don't like curry at all. Love cilantro. Dang I am getting hungry.

    What's Cooking?

Here is a pic of my meals for today, nothing pick you up like a nice room temp gatorade and a steaming hot cup of bullion soup. And since I have nothing else to add a pic of my grandson loving on our dog.
  9. Wily, bois d Arc has a very nice range, might give it a look see. Its near Ash Grove, 417-895-6880. they have rifle, pistol, trap and skeet ranges. Pack some .22's along and make a day of it. sounds like a good time to me.

    What's Cooking?

I love a good clam chowder, the Moscow mules is more my wifes liking than mine however. JoeD, what no picture of you drinking the JD, just a pic of a bottle, where is the love and enjoyment of consuming it instead of a lifeless photo of a bottle. As for it being the Milwaukee's best of whiskey, well I have drank more than my fair share of the "beast" as well. I have fairly pedestrian tastes. I am happily violating my Dr. orders and having a cup of coffee this morning, still over 24hrs before my appointment, they will never know, oh the excitement of a cup of coffee, but only one.

    What's Cooking?

I like naan bread. And what is there to not like about lobster and butter.
  13. Very soon, hopefully I am going to get back amongst it and see if I can find some fish putting on the fall feed bags.
  14. We never had a problem with cattle and skeet type targets but I remember dad waning about hogs eating them and getting sick. Talk to Jay Steele (I think that is the right name) at Talbot, they may well have a place where you can shoot close by the shop building.
  15. Just whiz in the livewell and leave the pump running for a while.

    What's Cooking?

If on a plate I like my eggs over easy, if on a sammich, I like them just solid, I am a slob and runny egg tends t drip on my shirt, and my wife frowns if I let the dog lick it off instead of just changing shirts.
  17. I believe the buoyancy provided by the Inflatables is about double what a regular wearable type is. Something like 15 vs. 30 lbs. Wearing one is a matter of getting used to it, like wearing a hardhat, or sunglasses. Once you are used to it, you simply forget its on. When I go out on a boat at work, I usually end up having to get back out of the truck after loading the boat back on the trailer because I am still wearing the Mustang Inflatable, get out take it off and put it behind the seat. Sadly I am too cheap still, (yes I know better but just don't do it) to buy a good Mustang and wear it all the time.
  18. Nice fat rascal too.

    What's Cooking?

    Mustard! Preferably dijon.
  20. I believe if you enlarge the photo the officer does have one one, looks like its a black or black/blue one. hard to tell for sure though. I have to wonder if the boaters death was all drowning and not a stroke/hear attack also. The only reason I think that is that just last Friday we had a gentleman have a heart attack while winching his boat onto the trailer at one of the ramps, his buddy said he straightened up and fell back into the water, (only a couple inches). If it had been in the lake it likely would have gone down as a drowning.

    What's Cooking?

The only food commercial that ever bothered me during the bad days of chemo were for Burger King's "chicken Fries", of course they were on at that time about every minutes. I swear on the first one I could smell them and that was all it took to grab a trashcan. After that I would instantly change the TV channel when it came on. To this day it makes my stomach a little queasy to see the commercial.
  22. Nice ones.

My dr. Said he went to a buffet after his colonoscopy. Good plan I might get my money's worth then. Clear liquids for like 24 hrs prior, bleh, hope you fellers start posting some good looking photos of food starting thursday, I will live vicariously though them for a few hours. Gavin I would eat that sauce on just about anything.

    What's Cooking?

RPS I love it when you can take a basic idea/recipe and expirament, some thing I have done that with have been superb, some have ended up with the dogs walking away. The bad part is I never quite remember what I did on the good ones. Even my oncologist said the colonoscopy isn't bad once you get past the prep. Heck after the bine marrow transplant and chemo from last year, heck how bad can it be. Lol maybe I will post up a running commentary on how the prep is going. At the very least I will try to pst a pic if me enjoying the prep-drink just for JoeD.

    What's Cooking?

Tonight's Hillbilly cuisine, 3 way burgers. Ground venisison, pork sausage, and hamburger. Added a package of garlic & herb soup mix, some shredded cheese from a big bag, a little steak rub I found in the spice cabinet, a shake of worchersurshershire sauce and a shake or two of soy sauce. Came out just rigth, juicy and tender. A few slices of a purple cherokee mater that was hiding amongst the weeds, and a sliced red onion. I have to enjoy my food this week, Friday is my first colonoscopy, yeach me. What a PITA this is gonna be.
