I am gonna have to practice on the Alberto, I tried a couple times both times it just sort of came apart on the pull, obviously I miss stroked on getting the line back hough the loop correctly, was too dang hot in boat barn to practice more. Nanofil is mostly on my crappie rigs and I don't mind it tied directly to the jig, but sometimes my crappie rig become my walleye rig becomes my creek rig.

Been 500 cfs since Tues. Flysmallie is correct, don't try to fish Pomme like you would fish Stockton, completely different creatures.
-
I will see if I can tie the alberto, I tried the albright and it failed on me. I wonder if the smaller lb test line is making a difference. The last time I lost a shad rap ir was with some 10# fireline and I think 10 # Stren mono. Thanks Ham.

Drew how well does the triple surgeons knot go through the guides. I am ready to try mono leaders on braid again but have had horrible luck with them slipping and coming undone. I have no issues with confidence in braid directly to a jig, just issues with abrasion against rocks etc. The braid just doesn't handle it as well.

Ham, I am gonna tell you the same thing I told my wife, the glitter was in the crappie nibbles, or maybe it rubbed off of a friend's bass boat as we fished. However nothing like a quick bath in creek where the spring branch runs into wake you up. I keep a bar of felt naphtha sad in my creek gear, mostly to wash away poison ivy but it does improve the odor in camp on multi day floats.

If your area got the rain we did this Monongahela it should trigger the suckers to feed, and with a little muddy water coming in, them worms should be solid gold for suckers or cats both.
-
Oneshot, red worms is all I have ever tried, they might bight on a carp type bait, but doubt they would on a meaty bait.

As long as I come home smelling of something aside from perfume or April fresh she would be fine. She knows me well enough to know there is no telling what I might end up doing. Smelong like cow pies, fish, catfish bait, stinky mud, diesel fuel or just my normal stinky self doesn't raise any warning flags. April fresh or smelling nice, there would be some splaining to do.
-
Hmm, I just usally end up smelling like I have been fishing. If I didn't my wife wouldnt believe I was fishing.
-
I have eaten some of them big ole TR crawdads, been more than a few years back though. They was tasty.
-
To be fair the fishing had been pretty poor up to that point, even the wormy little bass and green sunfish didn't want to play. Had to do something.
-
Carp are always a blast to catch. And if they come off, oh well. I will admit to fishing small creeks and spotting the working. Then easing out to a nearby pasture, flipping cow pies to get a few red worms, rig them with just a hook and spend 20 minutes stalking them. Why not!

Absolutely the story of my life some days.

Wow, put my grandson down for a nap, decided to have one myself, and woke up to this. I have yet to see anyone here who is a die hard Trump or Clinton supporter. Either way it goes I believe we will be the laughingstock of the world. We either elected a liar, who will say whatever it takes to get elected or, well there really isn't another option. Personally I will give Trump a chance, he may be a lot of things, but stupid he is not. It is still up to us as American citizens to hold the President accountable through our elected representatives. As for being republican or democrat, I have no respect for either party as a whole.
-
I am unwilling to curtail any constitutional rights granted to American citizens, and honestly I am undecided on a ban of refugees. But denying citizenship to them does not violate the constitution as they are not citizens, nor do they enjoy any constitutional protections since they are not even in the US. As for Trump being a racist, I seriously doubt that he is truly racist, bombastic, blowhard, over confident, and poorly spoken at times yes. However the Democrat side of the situation seems to be more vested in driving the deep divides in Americans along racial, ethnic, religious and incomes lines. Only reason I can come up with is it is much easier to control a population that is too busy fighting among themselves to notice the erosion of their freedoms and liberties in an attempt to make us more like Europe, Canada, or whomever, but guess what we are NOT those countries, nor do most of want to be patterned after them.

Benghazi, what happened at the beginning is not my issue with it, terrorist attacks happen. Could the embassy have been better protected, sure but there is always a balancing act between having a large force and appearing to be peaceful. My issue with Benghazi is that once the attack happened, and the radio traffic came in, why the support element not released to do what they were supposed to do. Would it have been bloody, yep, would the end result have been the same, possibly but you cant not try to rescue them. Gunships spraying rockets and mini gun rounds have a way of changing bad guys way of thinking and possibly left other wannabes with the thought in their heads that maybe messing with an embassy is not a good idea, because just when you think you are gonna win, death and terror begins to rain down on you from the sky.

I will refrain from typing the comment I really want to in response to the white hoods in the closet. Hillarys past is her biggest problem for her and Trump is certainly his own biggest enemy. If he were a politician and willing to say and do the things he theoretically should at this point the election would be over, but doing the politically correct this is not how he got the.nomination, sometimes though I wish he would get some elective surgery and have a brain/mouth filter installed. Trump supposedly has some information on his website that isn't bad but I haven't had time to look through it. Hillarys first plans are to pass some common sense gun legislation, I am all for.common sense gun legislation, but I suspect that we would vehemently disagree on what common sense legislation is. I honestly don't believe President ObaMA has been all that bad, he has used very few Executive Orders, and those did little to nothing. He has not used the office of President as a bully pulpit, and by and large has been a very decent human being, foreign olicy has been a disaster and the ACA, while doing some good has certainly raised the cost of healthcare. Ever notice the one large group that never had a bad word to say about the ACA, the insurance company lobby, basically guaranteed them a profit. I don't believe Trump will be as bad as I sometimes fear he will and I believe Hillary will be worse than i fear, and would use the power of the office to force her will on the american people, which is not the job of the president, their job is to work for the good of the nation. The email scandal was never going anywhere from day 1, too much influence and the fact that others have used outside email servers before doomed it. The die hard liberals will vote Hillary, the die hard conservatives will vote Donald and as always the issue will be decided by the undecided. I wonder if voter turn out will be low due or high this cycle and how that will play into the results.

Sometimes I am just fishing not targeting anything, but when I am targeting crappie or walleye for example even catching a nice Largemouth annoys me, shouldnt but it does. Still not as bad as throwing crankbaits or jerk baits for walleye and having a muskie decide it looks tasty, they tend to cost me lures, although they are fun for a while.

My best bass came out of Stockton fishing from the bank near the dam, early this spring. 1/8 Oz jig with a paddle tail plastic body. Hit after dark, was sure I had a big jack, when it rolled up in my head lamp I wasnt nearly as impressed as I shold have been I was just ticked off. Guessed it at around 8 lbs. Had big ole mouth, was like takin a jig out of a coffee can.

I think maybe it is.

I have no doubt that Trump is smart enough, he doesn't have the skills. I might be a Rhoades Scholar, but that doesn't make me an neurosurgeon. There is a definite class of American Royalty but I don't cut Either Trump or Clinton in that group, they are rich, but have only become rich in their own generation. They are more of the Robber Baron tyoes.

Me too, but we will likely have to add a yearly membership fee to pay for taxes, upkeep, and of course I can't be expected to live there full time for free. I still have some years left till retirement eligible at least 7 I think according to the current infomation as I just turned 50, so we might have to hire someone in the meantime, but once I retire I wouldn't be greedy, $50k a year, plus my retirement and free housing, yeah I cold do that. Will be accepting applications for Co operator (can't expect me to be there 7 days a week), am willing to accept bribes to reccomend applicants to the selection official. Hey I could be a politician, seem to have the concept down.

Definitely enjoy it, my daughter is 22 and my son 18 and about to start college. Strangely one of the best memories with my daughter was wading around in a small local creek, falling over rocks, catching crawdads, (with a net because she didnt want to touch them) only to let them go later.

Dadakota, I will say that when a major disaster strikes the US, you bet other controls do assist us. The US media oddly seldom reports it but they do help and offer help. Most other countries don't have a spare aircraft carrier to send to supply water, electricity and medical services like we did for Hati, but earthquake specialists from Japan, engineers from Germany and England, after Katrina here was a group from Holland there with pumps and expertise on using them. Very few if any other countries have the depth of expertise and ability to assist that the US does.
