Stockton and Pomme have lots of drum. I have eaten them, though not nearly as excited by them as others are. They fillet kind of like a skinny bass. Good seasoning is very helpful (think cajun). Sometimes they aren't bad sometimes they were tough as a boot. And they were all.cooked at the same time.

I would hate to get beat up over a carp. Be a shameful stain on my life, sort of like the time a tore a muscle beating a possum to death on my porch late one night.

How do they taste compared to the regular common carp.

RPS, I feel for you on the blood draws. I will think about it tomorrow when I am in the chair to gI've them some blood. Usually I am an easy stick they say. I enjoys watching them work. Some work by feel and some by sight, however when I mention they are like hunting dogs that way, hey don't see the humor as much as I do.

It's true, I had forgotten about the darters being in the Perch Family. What that really means is that those darters should be delicious too.

I do believe walley are a perch also. Yeah I grew up calling, bluegill, green sunfish and a few others perch. After a degree in wildlife biology I still find myself doing it occasionally. Walleye are perch family, largmuth, smallmouth and spotted bass are in the sunfish family. Confusing for a normal feller at times.

I love beets, pork chops, and caprese salad. Haven't had beets in several years. Used to pickle a lot of them, but just cooked with butter is my favorite.

Finally got a few minutes to make the ole cukes,maters and onions. Added a few sprigs of dill because I like it. Sadly as I tasted it to see how it was going I came to the realization that the last few days of fighting with some sort of sinus thing that I cannot taste bupkiss. However my wife has pronounced it edible.

Skunks aren't too bad in a trap, toss a small tarp.over them, them drop the trap in a pond and go have breakfast. Come back and remove skunk. Dispose of as you with far away from house, or in a trash bag that you repeatedly twist and make multiple bag layers with.

My first thught was it was a goat, but looking closer I believe it's a dog. Yeah it may be legal but on a small stream it definitely leaves a mark.

Maybe, but by the time you add in new tires to the jalopy, a new tattoo of her boyfriends face, some dental work and a few hits of meth it adds up quickly. Sort of like fishing with a zebco 202 reel combo, it will work, but I will happily pay a little extra for the higher quality and fewer trips for repair. Sometimes that low maintenance ends up a lot more expensive in the end. My wife don't mind driving my truck or old work car as long as I give it a quick cleaning (old lunch containers, spitters etc.) and spray it with Lysol. To be fair sometimes the smell of sweaty old guy mixed with various other things gets to be too much for me too.

That sounds like the exact opposite of low maintenance to me.

We had a pick up and 30 foot trailer in the lake last week. Wrecker that showed up was a monster, looked like it could have easily pulled out an Abrams tank. Operator commented it's easier to have too.much wrecker than too little. Also had a diver go down and hook up a chain and tow cable and pulled them out still coupled together. Of course that was only one vehicle basically and warm water with no current, but it was after midnight and very dark, over an hour from the time the diver went in until it all rolled ashore. Still won't be easy or cheap to.do it right.

They need a recovery team with experience, not cheap but there is a reason they often have some big ole wreckers or cranes on site. Where is gravel gerty when you need her.

Sometimes the actual repair isn't difficult, but having the knowledge and or tools to do it safely and or well is more difficult to come by. Is it a big problem to.simply get on their waiting lift and wait? Sometimes if there is another job close by they might do yours to finish out a day for the crew.

I went summertime simple tonight. Seasoned and grilled some chicken thighs, then chunked them up to go in with some salad in a bag. Raided the garden for a bowl full of cherry and some oddball looking little tear drop looking tomatoes (don't have nearly the flavor of them.old school wild type cherry ones), one nice big pink brandywine tomato peeled and sliced, and for dessert a big bowl of overripe peaches I peeled and added sugar and some sprite to make a syrup. Pretty darn good, relatively healthy and not too heavy for a hot summer day. After I water some garden I will have a Mikes Hard Lemonade. Ahhhhh summertime.

Man, I think the heat is getting to some of us. If you really want to drive your kids crazy learn the lyrics and sing along. Since I sing very poorly it would usually result in them.just giving in and letting me listen to talk radio. While fishing I can listen (or more properly ignore) just about any kind of music, or even a baseball game.. I remember kids screaming and crying over Walkman and such years ago also. Any way you slice it kids fishing is good. Let them fish, take them fishing, if they want to go for a boat ride or swimming let the. Especially with kids or folks who don't fish much it is important that they have fun and enjoy it.

That sammich looks good but the beer is a combo of 2 things that don't do it for me cream soda and IPA. I made do tonight with some sliced maters. Are finally starting to produce well, absolutely no comparison between the best store tomato and a warm brandy wine hot off the vine.

Well not one of Papas meals but how about a hospital popsicle.
