  1. Trout fishing in Highland Il at a winter trout lake with my 13 year old. She brought this in on a prince nymph via 2lb test. She said her wrists hurt. That's a good pain.
  2. This is a woolly, but made with beads.
  3. Well try number two. This one uses chewie skin for back. Marabou for tail. What I'm not sure about is it uses left over dry fly hackle for legs. It might be to stiff. Suggestions welcomed.
  4. SmallieBigs... I say it again. I hate you... want to be you, but I hate you. Thanks for the post.
  5. Congrats... did you get anything besides bragging rights.
  6. Yea. but not in a lab by splicing genes. They are doing what man has been doing for hundreds of years.
  7. Welcome.
  8. They aren't making lab fish. The genetics have allowed them to figure out which strains are different from others. Knowing this allows them to put different strains in the water to test.
  9. If you can't go waterproof, wouldn't wool fingerless work better then cotton?
  10. So what is the expected breed and survive percentages for the blue ribbon area? Do they want that BR area to be self supporting or mix of wild and reared?
  11. Can we add the smallest fish for fun.
  12. Thanks. message sent.
  13. As the tail. I was still going to add the rubber band cap. But in short... different versions of wooly.
  14. Do you know what he caught it on?
  15. Will you have any room specials? Would you have a way for non-boaters to ride with others?
  16. I figure I would try it three ways. Just rubber band, rubber band over marabou, and just marabou.
  17. Better supply some big rulers
  18. LOL. I don't have a work area. I have a TV tray and wife makes me clean it up when I'm done.
  19. So I took a stab at my first Hellgrammit fly. The recipe called using a rubber band. It needs some work but is promising. I think maybe marabou under the band in the tail area or just dropping the rubber band tail all together. Suggestions?
  20. Here is my two cents. I to started with two ultralights, but I felt like I lost fish because I could not get and keep a good hook set. I switched to a light action BassPro Extreme Spinning Rod and will never go back. I keep a reel with four pound test and another with six and swap them out depending on the situation. I use Berkley Smooth Casting line and caught many have never lost a trout.
  21. Anyone on here from NE Alabama or NW Georgia. I'm going down that way this spring, and I want to take a try at catching Shoal bass. Need some advise.
  22. Mark... I think what they are saying is they don't bring in much property tax income because the feds and state already own so much land in their county. It the state buys this property that will be more tax dollars lost. So... by having the park there may be more usage of infrastructure, but less money to pay for it. My guess is because it will only be primitive camping, there will not be enough sales tax money collected to make up the difference.
  23. I'd take some, but I still have some from last year. They are not as nice though. If you have extras in a month or so, let me know and I'll swap them out. But... let someone else have then that needs them first.
  24. How will the store work. I assume if you want to sell, you will open up a thread for them?
  25. Who are you supposed to chat with?
