  1. Gavin, are you in for both.
  2. I had a slow day at work and found these. I know some of us like to try new things and new ways so I thought I would share. PS... Chef Ramsey killed most of this himself on other videos. Enjoy. Duck: Rabbit: Catfish: Hog: Hare: Morel:
  3. Updated.
  4. Well, I've lead a winter swap two years in a row. Anyone interested in year three. I'm thinking flies due on 15 Feb for a 1 Mar recieve by date. There was some talk about swapping pond flies this summer. So, I figured I would run two if there are enough volunteers. Looking for 6 folks tying 10 flies each... one any trout fly and one a pond fly. Sign up for one or both. New Rules: I opened up to 11 people. We will still tie 10 each. If we don't fill up, I'll randomly sort the flies. Feel free to tie extras so everyone gets two, but not a requirement. Trout 1. MIC - MIC's Wet Hare's Midge 2. Lancer09 - Stonefly Nymph 3. 5. What is everyone's favorite color combinations for both Woolly Worms and Woolly Buggers? I would post mine, but I don't really fish them. Hope to tie and try this winter however.
  6. What do you do with all that meat?
  7. Just one question... Does a duck hunter go crap in the woods or reeds?
  8. What is your price range? I'm not selling, but I really love my coachman hybrids. My first one was under 3500lbs, and I pulled with a minivan. My second one has a full length pull out is just under 4500lbs. New they are in the teens to twenties. They also fit in your driveway.
  9. Same here to all my brothers (and sisters). MSgt Michael Donaldson, USAF, Retired Air Traffic Controller IT Project Manager 1989-2009 1990-1994 - Little Rock AFB, AR 1994-1995 - Vance AFB, OK 1995-1998 - Tinker AFB, OK 1998-1999 - Osan AB, Korea 1999-2004 - Ramstein AB, Germany 2004-2009 - Scott AFB, IL
  10. P.S. I swapped out my inlines with debarbed single point hooks. Unlike BSC, only single hook fishing inside the park during C&R.
  11. I don't know the hole names in the park, but seemed to work just past the last corner where the three water drains are. Downstream from there any pools in front of rock damns all the way down to the end of the park. Yes on the fly rod, I did have luck on Saturday with midges and hare's ear under a float.
  12. Greasy B promised to teach me how to fish the Woollies this winter as I never had much luck with them. For my birthday, I recieved Woolly Wisdom, How to Tie and Fish Woolly Worms, Wolly Buggers, and Their Fish-catching Kin by Gary Soucie. For a pattern book, I really enjoyed reading all the instruction, history and tips found through out the book. I'm realitively new to the Ozarks, but I'm really surprised on much influence Ozark outdoorsman have had on the Woollies. The first half of the book covers the Woolly Worms, the second buggers, and the third on "Woolly Like" flies. All in all, a great book for a fly fisherman's libary. Two thumbs up from me.
  13. Just call me the great white hunter... Ok maybe not that, but family and I simply slayed them over the weekend. All together we probably caught over a hundred fish. Almost all of the damage was on an inline spinner or a simple marabou jig tied 12" behind a hookless inline. Monday morning was so bad that I could not fish because my daughter was bringing them faster then I could get a line out. In addition to the catch rate, the fish were of good size. Overall a great birthday weekend camping in the Ozarks. I'll posts some pics once my wife gets them off the camera. Tight Lines, MIC
  14. Well everyone has their faults. Atchison High class of 89.
  15. I second the nomination.
  16. Atchison KS is my home. Great land up there.
  17. Good for him letting it go.
  18. I'm headed down to the Spring this weekend for four days. Hoping to spend a day down an Montauk also. Anyone going to be there Saturday or Sunday?
  19. Concur, like the woodworking. You will have to share some tips. Welcome to the site, please post reports and pics whenever.
  20. I thought about this one again, Spang is north of where I was at Ramstein and is a lot more hilly. You might have some luck up that way. Ramstein had a hunting and fishing club on base. If Spang does, you might want to start there.
  21. I lived there for five years. I didn't fly fish then. I don't think there is much in the Rheinland-Pfalz area, but if you can get down into the Black Forest south of Stuttgart you might have luck there. However, Germany has some unique rules that go back the land-owner days. I would make sure you get a guide. My best suggestion would be to have your daughter call down to the Armed Forces Recreation Center - Edelweiss in the Black Forest and ask for help setting you up. Even if you don't fish... the area is so worth a weekend trip. http://www.edelweisslodgeandresort.com/index.php
  22. Alright I give...
  23. I've never had goose "cooked right" so my take on goose is, it sucks. However, I'm always up for trying to new things. Anyway, I thought I would share with you bird hunters. Enjoy
  24. First, yes I know I'm stuborn... With that out of the way, here is what I need help with. I'm trying to show a flatter thorax profile on a PTN. I'm starting by tying small pieces of .30 lead, one on each side, on a size 14 hook. I start a hookeye's length back and continue a couple of MM... covering the thorax area. It looks really nice right up until I try to tie off the herl. No matter how hard I try, it falls off the front of the lead area into where the head would go. Are there any tricks I can use to keep the herl from falling off thorax area into the head? I know the technique of wraping and flattening the lead, but I'm stuborn
  25. The USS Forrestal was it's name. I don't remember this being a flying thing... I remember it as hot munitions. However, my memory sucks.
