  1. 39 Bridge is fine and H-Hwy off of HWY 39 is fine
  2. X's 2 on the defensive backs. Patience,Patience,Patience. I feel like I am bass fishing instead of watching football.
  3. I might wear out Aunts Creek since I have Thanksgivng Break starting tommorrow.
  4. Thanks, guys. Up until Saturday, I have been running into creeks and big pockets with secondary points and fishing the points as long as there was shad flipping on the surface. However, after the last few weeks of not getting squat, I eliminated fishing those areas on Saturday and fished the channel banks to catch numbers. If it going right you can run into a big one that pulled up and it pays off but for the most part the quality bites normally comes on flat stuff with the deep water really close by. It may not matter right now where anyone starts to fish as long as you have a wart, spinnerbait, jerkbait, and jig they will probably be bitting it for a few weeks.
  5. 3/4's of my fish were spotted bass, with one nice smallmouth for whatever reason he was in the Kings have caught a few in the kings, but when I caught a black they were good 2 3/4-3lbs. Most of my fish either bit right next to the bank or a few cranks off the bank in 5ft. I caught several fish when I was hung up in the rocks also. It was alot of fun.
  6. We are all on "fish time" not our time. Hopefully they bite when we are there.
  7. I threw a blade off and on Saturday and only caught 1 fish and he was small but he thumped it. I figured a bigger bite would have come on the blade but I was doing to good on the wart but not good enough.
  8. After a rough couple of weeks of fishing for a handful of bites was wondering if the bite changed yet with the fronts coming in. Saturday fished a club tourney out of Shell Knob 16 boats and by the end of the day 12 caught limits. I fished at the mouth of the rivers and caught 20 plus keepers all on a wart and when it was all over had 13.5 lbs never caught a fish over 4lbs. Several other guys stayed real close and fished alot of flat points and into the pockets with warts and spinnerbaits. A couple of them had 16.5 lb bags with 1 kicker in each of their bags the biggest fish that was brought in was a 6.48 he had 17.89lbs and he was the only guy fished deep with a jig. The weather wasnt a problem because we were catching alot of fish throughout the day. My non-boater had a rough estimate of how many fish I caught he said it was in the mid 60's. It was alot of fun. I fished main channel swing banks with the boat in 10-12ft. Water temps were 54-55.
  9. I was fortunate to help a local in Tysons move from NW Arkansas to Broken Bow and saw the edges of the lake and what appeared to be the river end of the lake this past August. However, wasn't to excited to try the lake during the summer months due to traffic jamming pleasure boaters turning into the lake. Would like to indeed try to fish the lake from now to early May before all the boat traffic hits the lake.
  10. Have been talking with some club buddies and local anglers around my hometown who have good track records up here and none of them are sure what is going on with the fish. Yeah we can go out there and get some bites right now and if you have five fish you will have 9-10lbs. A month ago me and my partner caught close to 18lbs and losing a solid 6lber during the winter series. All our fish except for one 2.5lb kentucky were 3.3/4lb-3.25 lb blacks. Since the first series of cold fronts them suckers have moved somewhere or suspended out over the channels releating to bait but we cannot find them on the graphs in trees or on the bottom. I know thats fall fishing but with as many good anglers that has been fishing the last 3 weeks in these tournaments and not one fish over 6lbs has been caught it just make all of us anglers scratch our heads. It is difficult to try and be patient with better days coming but when it changes like it has so fast and the places we have fished still have the shad on the banks and in the pockets to not catch anything makes you wonder "where are the fish." Adjusting makes or breaks us anglers, it is what makes this sport so great.
  11. Fished winter series Saturday and thought we had a gameplan catching fish on steeper banks than what we have been fishing in the creek arms. Don't know what is going on with the fish or where they are at but we fished shallow stuff in the morning and didn't get a single bite. Made an adjustment we thought which was our new game plan that was hopefully going to work mid-morning but after two more hours of not getting bit doing that we just started following some wind and finally caught 3 keepers for a whopping 6.5 lbs with on being 3.18lbs. Terrible and tough. Sunday we were going to dance with the big boys in the Anglers in Action and we figured if we would just get 5 keepers we would be close. When the wind was ripping in the morning we caught two solid largemouths shallow. We should have made our adjustment as soon as the wind started to lay but with what we had going up shallow when things are right we are catching the right fish so we stayed with it til 1:45pm because the way the wind was blowing until 11:30 we knew there would have been some big bags coming in. We moved out deeper with about 35 minutes left to fish and at 3:05 partners thumped two magnum spots and had 4 more little fish. Knowing we needed one more "just" keeper to give us a shot. Weight four fish just under 11lbs. A keeper would have put us in the top 3 for sure. Caught 10 fish and 4 of those just wouldn't touch. This is what makes this game so much of a joy, there is alot of ups and downs throughout the day and at any second it can change. Keep your head down and make the right adjustments and good things can happen. Til next time. Good luck.
  12. Yes the spillway.
  13. Was wondering if any one heard on the news or around the area that the Corp would be dropping the lake 6ft to work on the new dam by Moonshine. Just curious, ran into some club buddies and they thought it was happening on Taneycomo. Any thoughts?
  14. Covering alot of water and eliminating water has been the thing, with a few fish in between. When you get bit you will catch two or three pretty close together.
  15. Agreed, it has been a pleasant view that last couple of trips on the lake.
  16. Fished the Big Indian area from 3pm-7pm. Hit some wind blown banks and pockets with standing timber and big rocks throwing a spinnerbait and wart had very little success. Caught 6 fish with 2 solid fish at 2.5lbs. One on the blade and one on the wart. Found very little shad in the areas I fished. Wasn't graphing alot of fish either. Since these few cold fronts have blown thru it has thrown me a curveball on where the fish are positioned. Will try em again and hopefully have better results. Water temp 62.8
  17. My partner and I have been spoiled the last few months especially 2 weeks ago. Tasted a little bit of humble pie. We will figure em out again.
  18. Fished Winter Series Saturday figured the bite would off but was still optimistic about these crazy ole green fish. Made a 5 minute run to our first spot and slammed 6 fun bites with 3 solid keepers on blade and wart in the first 30minutes. Didn't get another bite once the sun came over the horizon for 5 more hours. Finally, connected on another solid keeper about 1pm and that was all she wrote for the day. Knew it wasn't any good weighed the fish for points and headed home. Saw a couple of bags that appeared to be around 16lbs and heard 4plus lb fish was big fish while we were still there. Can't complain about a bad fishing day since we could have been doing somthing else. Threw a blade and spinnerbait all day every once in a while would flip a dock that looked appealing. Caught a total of 12 fish.
  19. Does this mean that the ramps are back to being opened? Heard that there was a cable strung across the road at H-Hwy at big indian.
  20. Me and my partner thought that there would have been several upper teens bags plus some 20lb bags but the big girls haven't moved up yet. We have fished a few other big team tournaments since August and big fish has been nothing over 5lbs. We just have been catching solid keepers and covering a boat load of water. It's almost here though.
  21. CRAP HAPPENS!
  22. Appreciate it Champ, the competition is a stiff as they come when they are on the lake several days a week and I am doing good to get out on the weekends to try and figure something out.
  23. Champ 188, we finished 2nd in the Winter Series. Lost an absolute toad early in the morning that would have put us over the top as well. Caught everything we weighed on a 5/8oz jig alot of the other keepers were caught on a wart inside of mainlake and secondary points.
  24. My fishing partner put in at H-Hwy Sunday afternoon.
  25. H-HWY ramp isn't maintained by the corp anymore either. A club recieved a grant a few years ago to get the ramp re-paved. The only reason there is a dock there is because of a dock building company just up the road that the owner agreed to maintain the dock because it is easier to get in and out of their dock barges.
