Put in at old state park at noon. Water temp throughout the day was 54.3-55.8 Fished up to and in Price Branch and back. Used two baits the entire outing a 5/16oz finesse jig and a 3/4oz fb jig in brown/purple/red with a watermelon red critter craw trailer. Fished bluffs, points and chunk rock banks. Caught 14 bass, 8 blacks with 4 keeps, 2 short spots and 4 brownies with 1 keeper and a bonus eye 181/2 in ate fb jig. Fish I caught were holding in 5-18 fow and pounding the jig on the fall or dragging in deeper water. Had a fun day, fishing was slow but steady. Seen lots of eagles and loons singing their tune, music to my ears. To top off my trip finally seen the all elusive otters. Finally, watched 3 play for 10 minutes at dusk at mile long bridge without even fishing. We are truly blessed to live in this neck of the world! Tight lines and CPR

Thanks for the report Quill, been tuff of late, gotta try different things at different depths till you find hungry fish.
-
Secret banks Hun? I understand, good job, thanks for the wart report.
-
The Rock can humble the best, she's a fickle girl and can get real tuff the day after hooking em.
-
Glad she caught some, she's a cutie. Fishing with family, nothing better, especially your kids! Thanks for the report and the pics.

Thanks for the report and pics. Some nice chunks, way to go figuring them out. When there're eating a blade makes for some great action!
-
Bo, you're so right, with the fish so scattered you just can't go to what and where you think they should be. You have to cover water and try different approaches to locate and intice them into biting!

Short outing, put in at 12:30 temp at ramp 58.3 Motored down to Thompson creek area and started on wind blown channels and swings with 6xd, rc, fat free shad and magnum wart not a sniff. Water temp 60.6 Tried 5/16 finesse jig on same type banks still not a sniff. Seamed like I was fishing dead water. Changed to 3/4oz fb jig on points and long run outs, still not a bite. Went to Piney creek and stated burning a 1/2oz war eagle screaming eagle in mouse through tops of cedars in 8-16fow and bam! End up with 9, 2 blacks 6 spots and 1 mean mouth. One nice black and a keeper spot. Don't know if decision to burn blade or if Piney saved the day but either way I'll take it. Tight lines and CPR

As I fished up towards Birch water was getting warmer but never made up there. Fished really hard where had been working for me lately but not today. Maybe should of went to warmer water, but hindsight is always 20/20. I am glad you hooked em, at least someone was one em!
-
Great, way to go, thanks for the report. River bite was slow, but knew someone was on em!
-
Agreed, for me at least two jig rods, 3/8 finesse and 1/2-3/4oz fb jig. Nice fish cheese!

Put in at daybreak and started on channel banks with phantom red magnum wart, water temp 48.3 Covered lots of water and only caught a short spot and a short black. Tried slow rolling 1/2oz blue herring blade and a 6xd cb on some swings and deep cuts, no luck. Switched to 1/2oz and 3/4oz fb jig on channel and points only caught 2 short blacks. Warmest water I fished was 52.7 Tuff day for me, sure someone wacked em. Got to report the bad trips along with the good ones. Still had fun trying. I'll get em next time! Tight lines and CPR

My last several trips I have concentrated on south channel banks and points and have done very well. I agree that summertime north banks receive more light, but not fall and winter. Either way it's all where you have the most confidence in.
-
North banks are better in the spring because of sun angle, they heat up faster and promote plankton growth which is what baitfish feed on. In the fall the opposite happens, south banks get more light because of sun angle. Generally on Stockton windy flats and pockets have been my best places for whites.

Thanks for the photo! Beautiful dad! Gonna tie some jigs exactly that color!
-
Sorry, I don't keep any bass. Crappie and walleye I release to grease, and enjoy them.

Put in at daybreak to 52.4 water temp. Started on channel banks with a magnum wart in phantom green, caught 2 and 1 keeper. Switched over to a 1/2 oz blue herring war eagle blade slow rolling in deep cuts and caught a nice white bass and a channel cat and 3 short blacks. Went back to channel banks with homemade 3/4 oz brown/purple/red fb jig with a green pumpkin critter craw trailer and caught 12 with 6 keepers. Jig fish where right on the channel break in 12-25fow and flat hammering the jig! Warmest water I fished war 61.07 Loaded up a 3:30 Tight lines and CPR

Way to go! Nothing like a fresh crappie fry! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
-
I covered a lot of water to catch what I did. I did catch them in sperts, several back to back casts and almost all cb fish had buddies following them in. When the fog burned off and lake was slick it got tuff. Always fun trying to figure the elusive "bass" out.

Put in at daybreak to fog and 64.8 water temp. Hit mainlake points and swings with 3/4oz brown/purple/red fb jig and caught 2 nice brownies and 4 short spots. Went up to Viola and worked back with 1/2oz blue herring blade slow rolling in off colorered water on bluffs. Had 5 short blacks. Went to Big M and stayed near channel with 3/4oz fb jig and 6xd back to ramp. Caught 3 spots and 4 blacks all shorts. Loaded up at 3. Fish where in 15-25 fow. Seen 3 bald eagles and a group of canvasback ducks. Kinda spiritual on the water in all Gods beauty! Tight Lines and CPR
