  1. Why do you think it's outlawed in the BASS AND FLW? And in almost all trails on table rock. Including our own OA tournament!
  2. Most "Real" tournaments don't allow it! It makes a zero into a hero.
  3. I thought this was a fishing forum! Wow, I guess I joined to read about golf, basketball and seems almost anything these days. Check out the Stockton or other lakes on here, pretty much about fishing! I guess I'll have to weed through all the offbeat stuff or simply move on. I remember when this site was "almost" exclusively about fishing!
  4. I strongly disagree with carrying a gun! I have never I repeat never been in any situation that calls for brandishing a pistol! If you believe that enjoying the great outdoors with a pistol on your side to protect yourself, you might be in the wrong spot! I have never been close to thinking that I need a pistol to be safe on Stockton!
  5. Great report and results! Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the thread! Great information!
  7. Put in a 9, had to use park ramp, main ramp closed. Stayed in River most of the day, water temps 50.2-54.79 Tuff bite for me, landed 12 all blacks with 2 squeaker keepers on 3/8 hand tied brown/purple/red jig in 8-15fow . Caught only one on cb as was a pretty still day with little wind. Had several on green/ pumpkins/red 4" finesse worm Texas rigged on 5/16 bullet weight. Fished deep bluffs across from state park and not a sniff. Lots of wildlife out, Eagles, those huge white Pelicans and lots of ducks. Loaded up at 2:30 CPR and tight lines!
  8. That's a beauty! Congrats!
  9. Praying for your dad my friend!
  10. Tandem trailer has saved me countless times. I know that it's twice the maintenance, but have limped home several times on three wheels because of bearing failure. I personally wouldn't own a nice bass boat without a tandem trailer. Plug kit is also a must and a spare set of bearing, tools and grease if you venture far from home.
  11. Great guy! Fished with him a month or so before his accident. We caught over 60 that day and had a huge bonus eye! He is buried at Mt Olive cemetery in Marionville, nice tombstone, says "Gone Fishing" with a bent rod and real with a fish on above his name! Have visited him several times since his passing.
  12. Nice, thanks for the report and pics!
  13. CC has been redone, extended ramp, refurbished courtesy dock and walkway. Brand new bathroom. Great condition!
  14. I applaud your passion and willingness to learn! I also agree with Redcatcher, be careful. Hiring Bob Bennett would emensly help you get a great start on good areas and methods to help you get started. Best of luck and welcome to the forum.
  15. Great results! Did you guy stay above 245 bridge all day? Also was ramp open or have to put in at campgrounds?
  16. Good deal! Them whites that size are fun and pull and fight like freight trains! Good to see you as well. Other than you, only seen one guy in a Lund spider rigging in the Shaw bluff area as I fished back to the ramp.
  17. Put in at 9am, water temperature dropped over 10 degrees from last Friday at ramp, showing 43.9 with ice on bank in spots. Went up and under bridge, temp 39.6 made a few casts and headed towards Springield cove area. Down sized to a 4" junebug shaky head worm and struggled to catch 5 all day with one keeper on cb. Had one big white bass as well. Fished bluffs entire trip and loaded up at 3:30. Warmest water I seen was 46.2. Cold front has dropped lake temps and pushed fish deeper and gave em lock jaw or at least for me. CPR and tight lines!
  18. I've decided to put in at CC around 9 am. Will gladly meet you at the swimming beach at Ruark at 1pm and compare notes. My phone has vertually no reception until mile long bridge area. So I'll be there at one, white and red nitro. Hope to see you there. Good luck tomorrow!
  19. Thinking about putting in at Cedar Ridge tomorrow and was curious if ramp was open and any current water temps in Highpoint, Aldrich area? Thanks in advance for any feedback!
  20. Very cool, so now makes a eye in every month of the year?
  21. Interesting, I recall several times thinking like you, that we never gonna get free! ? Glad you made it of without to much damage, and only scratches! Again, nice toad!
  22. Curious Dan, does this count for your March eye? Or does it have be caught from a boat?
  23. With all the area lakes this low it reminds me of Lake Fork in Texas. I have been fishing there since 92 and have on countless occasions been stuck on on submerged wood. When this happens you gotta fire up big motor trim her up and simply power off, sometimes back an forth in forward and reverse to get free. My son and sing a song for it " stuck on a staub" Nice fish!
  24. The guys that know the spots and techniques of lower end crappie fishing catch predominantly huge black crappie. Know of a few guys that kill em every year in Indian, Spring and around Cow and Little cow creek. Its deep fishing 20-35fow and predominantly prespawn.
  25. Way up the Kings or point 15 area of the James is your best bet, my buddies have been doing well in both areas. Hope this helps.
