  1. Not for a second. Love the banter.
  2. You guys crack me up.
  3. Put in at Cow Creek and fished towards Coombs Ferry. Not sure what you guys call this area of the lake. Water is very clear, surface temps 54-55, no debris. Fished from noon until 5:00 - not even bankers hours. Strong SW wind gusting to 20+. Had a pasty-white, winter-weary friend down from MN to share the boat with and we enjoyed a great afternoon on the water. Caught 19 with 9 being keepers. All keeps were 15-16". Nine Spots, 1 LM, and nine Smallies. 3 fish came on a wiggle wart in a main river pocket, the rest came on the little rig that shall not be named in PBJ. Smallies were relating to a main-river ledge-rock type of area. I can't begin to describe how youthful I feel after fighting and landing a 16" smallie on a ML spinning rod. It just never gets old.
  4. Always good to start the day with a good laugh. Thank you.
  5. Congrats on the great day. It was a magnificently perfect spring day yesterday. Between work in the AM and the non-fisher-people company we have down, I was forced to observe the lake all day from the house and could only wonder "what if". Is the meanmouth a smallie-spot cross? Cool looking fish.
  6. Well said Quill. Couldn't agree more!
  7. Great pics! Thanks for posting.
  8. Congrats on the win!
  9. Had an odd day yesterday. Caught 4 Spots in the 14" range that were all relating to wood (Cow Creek area) and later caught two 16+ fish, one a Spot and one a LM, that were just fat! Thought they were ready to spawn until I TM'd over to the spot and marked a massive school of baitfish. Both of them ate the 1/8 oz PBJ Ned with gusto. I'm guessing they were looking for a little garnish to go with their meal of fish? Lol.
  10. True dat!
  11. I believe that thread was a troll.
  12. I wouldn't follow his route. I think he was on the inside of the white buoy on the point across from Spring Branch!
  13. lol, Bill. Maybe they've gotten the message. I didn't think mine was quite that bad and they do have a very clean parking lot.
  14. Well, the fishing must be picking up because even MN guy caught 'em today. I fished the Little Cow to Indian Point area. Caught 20 with 7 keepers and a mixture of LM, SM, and Spots. Most were spots. All were caught on Dave Reeves 1/8oz Little Heads jigs with half a PBJ Zero. Mostly targeted the channel side of the main river. For the first time since I got down here Feb 21st, I've found some concentrations of fish and have been able to catch 3-4 before wearing out my welcome. Main river surface temp was 49 in the am and 51-52 this afternoon. Just one of those days when it all comes together including some awesome weather. I even got my bride of 40 years out in the boat for the afternoon (she brings a book) and then we capped off the day with some great burgers at Blue Eye Burger and enjoyed their outdoor patio. My thanks to Dave for his excellent jigs and the quality info provided by members of this board. Sure wish it wasn't going to get cold this week! At least I'm not shoveling the 8" of snow we got at home yesterday.
  15. Watching Chris Lane this morning. Very cool coverage. I still cannot get over how fast these guys fish. He's fishing the way I would fish if I was getting ready to leave for another spot and was quickly fishing my way out of there.
  16. Awesome picture!
  17. Fished Long Creek Monday (3/16). Caught 7 with only two keeps. Water was 52 in the morning and by mid-afternoon I saw temps up to 57 at times. All 7 fish came on a wart. The two keepers came from the same spot in approx 7-8' along a broken rock bank. That particular spot seems to have snaggier rock than anywhere else in the area I fished. The first keeper just engulfed the wart after I popped it loose from where it was hung up in a rock. I marked a lot of fish in the 12-14' range but could not get them to go. Tried deeper cranks, deep down husky jerk, Ned, swinghead w/Zoom Baby Brush Hog. There was a fair amount of debris floating but if you were paying attention, it was avoidable. The water,as you soufers say, had some color to it. It was definitely dirtier in some spots, cleaner in some of the creeks. Also, I can't believe the number of boats I saw for a Monday. Doesn't anyone work for a living any more?
  18. The heavens declare His glory!
  19. Great video, great event, and just a thoroughly enjoyable day. Y'all are some great people down here. My thanks to Jeff, Phil, Bill, and everyone else that made it possible.
  20. That's too bad. Mike missed day 3 by 3 ounces.
  21. While I am greatly anticipating the thought of winning that coveted trophy tomorrow, , I'm looking out at the lake currently and I can't see it due to some really dense fog. What is the plan if we wake up to the same tomorrow morning?
  22. I highly recommend it as well (the title is "An Impossible Cast"). It provides a fascinating look into the life of Glen Andrews and tournaments of that pre-BASS era which I have never seen written about anywhere else.
