Missouri lost one of its pioneers of trout fishing, Spence Turner, last Saturday night. If you enjoy fishing for trout in Missouri, especially brown trout, or enjoy fishing any of the "trophy" trout areas, it's because of Spence! Rest in peace my friend! http://owaa.org/owaa-legends/spencer-e-turner-iron-man-in-chest-waders/

I try to avoid skin contact with most waters in the state of Missouri. There's just too many cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, geese, and humans, to name a few, fertilizing these waters anymore!!
Because there's lots of people who enjoy fishing for them and they pay sales tax and buy trout stamps for the state to provide this fishery. I know lots of wives who ask why is it important to catch any fish?
GREAT post Al! Brought back some great memories! I haven't been on the Jacks Fork in about 30 years! It's a little piece of heaven, in the Missouri Ozarks!
The trout fishery was pretty good back in the late 1970s through the 1980s. I would anticipate this fishery reflects MDC's priorities for this stretch of river and how many and how often they stock trout in it. It would be interesting to get the stocking records from MDC and see what they show. Hopefully, with increased stocking, this area may return to a pretty decent trout fishery.
Enjoyed the video!! Out of curiosity, what video software do you use? I'm just starting with my GoPro and I'm looking for the best editing software that a dummy like me can use.
Thanks!
I would suggest starting her in zone 3 drifting half of a white plastic trout worm on a size 10 hook with a bb split shot (12 inches above the worm) on 4 pound test line. Can't miss!! White crappie jigs work great too. Years ago, I even used cigarette butts a few times, after cleaning trout with them in their stomachs! Good luck and enjoy!!
