  1. 6/0 Daiichi Aberdeen Lot's of Bucktail and CCG! Just about the right size to fillet @ 8"
  2. I had a client that is a starting out fly angler, and wanted to use his own spinning rod after fly fishing the first half of the day. He had some Nanofil on a medium duty spin rod, it seemed like really nice line. I'm sticking with my Power Pro on all my big bait casting musky rods though. (80-100 lb. test) Cheers!
  3. just discovered I now have a bee allergy. Does the epipen help with snake bites if there is a reaction???
  4. " - "Most" musky anglers stop fishing these giants when the water temps increase, even in our northern states......why? To preserve their fisheries." I totally agree with you Pruett. We had a hot spell back in July where I saw some surface temps on the rivers as high as 87 degrees, all the way up here. That's the time put the 10 weights and the big flies away, and do a little small mouth fishing or head up to lake superior. Things have cooled down nicely here, temps are right around 70 and the musky's are very happy! (And so are my clients...!)
  5. hayward area river
  6. ...with some bonus wild life while wading. top water fun! Taken with an Olympus Tough. Not the best photos, but it's nice to have a waterproof camera that will fit in your pocket!
  7. No, doug and his wife came over from N.D. to fish for a couple of days. They had saltwater experience and picked up on casting the big flies very quickly!
  8. Here's Doug's first musky, one hour into his career! 10 wt. w/ a streamer to boot!
  9. Not sure who would win in a fight - big shouldered smallie or Rockford fireman...??? Fishing from Don's hand made work of art-
  10. How did you know I caught that with a shiner on one of them spinnin' rods looking for a dinner walter???
  11. Things are finally in good shape after going straight from winter to monsoon season!
  12. An effect of climate change is wild fluctuations in weather, in theory. From last year, to this year: we have gone from the earliest ever ice out to the latest. WTF??? The evidence is there for those willing to admit, green house gasses are in the atmosphere proportional to the advent of the industrial revolution which is also proportional to the rise in temperature. FACE IT.
  13. quite fond of 'em smoked!
  14. Glad to hear you guys are joining in the fun!
  15. There will be very little of that kind of fun for opener on Saturday. Just got another foot of snow, lakes are all frozen, and the rivers are flooded! Ahhhhhhh!!!! Nice little mouths...
  16. I second the streamer support group. I've gotten to the point where nymphs and dries are something that is to be done when the warm water season is closed... Brian, I still haven't gotten in a drift boat since the Streamer Love Fest and our general opener is pretty much FUBAR - the view out the window a few minutes ago says the whole story...Getting tired of organizing!
  17. Wisco tried to introduce a season on feral cats, didn't make it though... I probably would have gotten a new tack driver if it had! Back on topic, I saw my first elk from the Clam Lake herd (that was reintroduced) in the yard during new years eve this year. I still have song birds...unless the wolves have gotten 'em all?
  18. This is my fourth post today, getting snowed in is starting to loose it's fun. Fresh Ooga, cajun shore lunch batter, AND HERE IS THE KEY, fry fish in pure woooooo pig sooooooie saved from bacon drippings! No processed oils messing up the krausened mojo of the iron skillet.
  19. This is getting absurd... Photo is from this morning, heavy lake effect snow from the north. Still enough ice on the lakes for automobiles...
  20. Do you have anything super tiny for my 2 wt. ????
  21. "What Is This?" awesome
