  1. After reading the boat ramp post in the LOZ forum it got me thinking. Is there any ice on the rock. If so, where and how bad?
  2. I only get down to the rock once or twice a year, so I depend on reports that I find. I found Pete's site last year and he was spot on with what the fish were doing. It was one of the very few times I was able to get a report and go and duplicate it on the water. I just found Eric's videos a few weeks ago and bookmarked them also. I will be using both for when I come down next month and also in May. I will post a report when I am done. Hope it will help anyone.
  3. Jay, If you want to look at longevity. Look at some of the 8-10 year old boats for sale in your area, or on craigslist as a whole. You will see a difference in how they are made and how they have lasted. It is not hard to see which brands consistently hold up over time. After that you can make a better choice on which ones you liked better and go from there. IMHO if you want best bang for your buck, never buy new, always buy used.
  4. For those of you who like to paint, check out my site http://www.shop.blankbaits.com/. I know, shamles plug, but they run great and catch fish. There are some there you may like and a lot cheaper than buying them from the store. jeff
  5. I knew a guy who owned a tackle store up in MN and he said that he would not sell any jig heads unless it had an eye painted on it. The fish didn't care, but the fishermen did. I was partnered up with Dion Hibdon in the last bfl tournament on LOZ. He was flipping a soft plastic on a jig head that was so beat up that there was no paint on it at all. If he doesn' t care about the paint on the head, I will not either. Sore Thumbs, sorry if I helped hijack the post. I have never used the NuJigs, but the look good and have a great design. The ones I use are chompers/omega for heavy jigs, and jewel for lighter ones
  6. Thanks Phil.
  7. Hey Phil, have you set any dates for your winter tournaments yet?
  8. I have a 16.5" crappie that may be what you are looking for. Send me an email and I can send you a picture of it. jeff@blankbaits.com
  9. I was fishing the big bass bash and ended up catching 2 crappie on a crankbait. One was 11" and the other was 13.5". That was the biggest crappie I ever caught. Just my luck, i am fishing for the biggest bass ever and I catch the biggest crappie ever. I wish I had a picture of it, but it was raining very hard.
  10. Way up Shallow
  11. I through a swimbait most of the day saturday with no success. My wife was fishing with me and throwing a spinnerbait all day. She ended up catching several keeper fish, but none that would even get close this weekend. Sunday I started off using a buzz bait and landed only one fish on it, but it was 3.79 and good enough for the last spot in the 7-9 time slot. Paid $165. The average weight was a lot higher than I expected. Usually there is 3-4 time slots in the fall that have a high 3lb fish getting a check, this year it was only one.
  12. I will be there too. I don't need to find some fish, I only need to find one.
  13. With PB&J being a popular jig color, has anyone use a soft plastic that was pumpkinseed with purple flakes?
  14. Thanks guys, I will be down to the rock in mid September and it looks like I will be dragging a football most of the time.
  15. What size line do you guys use when fishing the football jig?
  16. I have a Yeti cooler. I didn't buy it, I actually won it in an online contest with the North American Fishing Club. I usually use it when I go on fishing trips where I will be keeping all of my cold food/drinks in the cooler the entire time. If I am going to a place where there will be a frig, I use a different cooler. Yeti Pros: It does hold ice longer than all other ecnomical coolers It is unreal how strong this cooler is. It is a great converstion/status piece Yeti Cons: $$$$$$$$$$ It is unreal how heavy this thing is, loaded or unloaded. They do not come with wheels, this goes with how heavy they are. Ice does make a ton of difference. If you can get the solid ice cubes, not the ones with the holes. The most important thing is to keep the lid closed as much as possible. After owning one, I would not buy another one simply because of the weight and how hard it is to move around. They are worth the money if you need a high performance cooler.

  18. I don't think so, Toyota changed the body style in 2007. These should fit any crew max from 2007 to 2013.
  19. Thanks hoglaw. This is the second Crew max I have had. Both times I got the Rock Warrior Package. It is an awasome truck. The reason that I am selling the steps is that they are the only "crome/stainless" on the truck. That pic is the stock pic from the toyota website. I can take more with my phone if anyone is interested.
  20. I just purchased a 2013 tundra crew max with the brushed stainless step boards. I am looking to replace them with all black tube steps. The brushed stainless step boards MSRP at $625, I am offering them at $525 obo. They are currently on the truck and will stay there until sold. Email jeff@blankbaits.com or call 314* 221* 3064 Jeff
  21. Jacob, I hope you find someone to link up with. I had the same problem a few years ago and now I try to find a link partner several months before a tournament. I was lucky to find one this year, so I am in for all the BFL's as a co angler. If anything comes up and I can't make it I will let you know and you can have my spot. Jeff
  22. The Hawg Hawlers bass club is having an open buddy tournament on April 13. They have a guarentee payout for 1st ($1000) 2nd ($750) and 3rd ($500). They are a great laid back group to fish with. If you have time check it out. http://www.hawghawlers.com/shirts.htm
  23. I looked earler this year with no luck. I don't think it is popular enough yet. I just made some up with long drop shot weights and bell sinkers. I want to try them out first.
  24. I have not used it yet, but I plan on having it on my spinning tackle this year. As far as the buoyance, It sinks.
  25. Yes they run true. Free shipping too. thanks
