  1. Well, THAT ain't changing my mind none. The only way I'm willin' to eat either of those is stuffed with jalapeรฑos, wrapped in bacon and smothered in mushroom gravy!
  2. Crows? Ooops. Wrong thread. Never mind.......๐Ÿ™ƒ
  3. Bingo.
  4. "Aren't bad eating". That tells me instantly that I ain't putting it in my mouth. In fact, as code phrases go I'd rank that one as even more instructive than, "She has a great personality."
  5. ๐Ÿคฎ
  6. Wow - mine isn't either. I might not hear so good but 50 yards? I don't think a guy could hear mine from 50 feet but I guess I could be wrong. I'm just glad that I like mine cause I usually nitpick stuff to death but I've got no issues with my Ultrex and am completely satisfied. Good for me (for once)! I guess that's why they make so many different brands, models and types.
  7. I got one of the very first Ultrex's after they were released and have been nothing but thrilled. Unlike Bill, I don't notice the issue with drift but then I'm not a professional guide so I'm sure my expectations and demands are considerably less. I also don't have an issue with the deploy and stowing of the motor and for me personally it's the easiest to lift in both directions of any that I've owned (of course I used to workout).๐Ÿ˜‰ Nor do I find it to be noisy but then I'm gettin' pretty close to deaf so there's that....... All that being said, if I was buying a new boat or re-rigging my troller and electronics I'm pretty sure that I'd go all Garmin. Part of that reasoning is I continue to absolutely hate Lowrance but I know that's just me being to dumb to figure out how to use the danged things but I've also been really impressed with what I've seen of the Garmin. I don't know how much actual use I'd get out of the feature allowing a guy to link the motor and the graph and follow contours but all things being equal I'd just as soon have the option. Bottom line I guess is that I've got the biggest, bestest, baddest boat and electronic gadgets that I've ever owned and each of 'em far exceed what I need and certainly what I deserve and leave 90% of the fishing world drooling with envy. Nonetheless, I still get jealous of guys that have anything better or newer than I do as I absolutely loves me some toys! If I've learned anything in my near 67 years of coveting and accumulating excessive and unnecessary materialistic things it's to always buy the absolute best that you can reasonably afford. Nothing worthwhile is cheap so you just as well do all that you can to avoid complicating things by introducing buyer's remorse into the equation!
  8. The republicans recent behavior in The House of Representatives was an embarrassment? Wow, we really do see things differently....... Merry Christmas!๐ŸŽ„
  9. Dang that's right - forgot about that. Never mind.......
  10. Don't think this stuff is exclusive to California. In case you missed it, since last summer a faculty group at KU has been protesting and organizing boycotts of the Chick Filet on campus because the owner closes on Sunday's due to his religious beliefs and has stated that he believes that marriage is an institution reserved for a man and a woman. And that's just scratching the surface over at my ol' alma mater. And I don't think anybody down your way needs any reminders of the stuff that's been going on in Columbia. Gives a whole new meaning to the term, "Lack of Institutional Control".
  11. Not looking to further fan the flames on this topic but thought I would share this as an illustration of my point regarding the erosion of the public education system and the associated political biases. The faculty at Chico State University which is a public university located in rural California and not considered to be some wacko, far left wing institution like Cal Berkley or some of the others out there recently released these two official statements: "We want students, staff and faculty of color, as well as any other groups that have been targeted by white supremacist insults, ridicule and other forms of oppression to know that CFA sees the harm that Is inflicted when we are all subjected to witness such abuse." And: "Displaying banners and signs supporting the reelection of the sitting president can be experienced as an act of racist provocation." Those are official statement from the Chico State Faculty Association (CFA). Kinda hard to believe that this institution of "higher learning" is facilitating a whole lot of diverse dialogue and robust debate so that young people can make objective and informed decisions.
  12. Bo's subliminal powers should never be underestimated! Just ask the fish......๐Ÿ
  13. You may be my favorite journalist! Well, you and Bill O'Reilly.... You either observed or were informed of an event and told us what you know about it - not what you think, wish, hope or otherwise speculate might have happened or why. That's all I want from a journalist as anything more is either opinion or propaganda. Give me the honest truth about what you DO know and let me figure out the rest. Well done and congratulations on your new career!
  14. I disagree but regardless they should have to look farther than the tax payer funded public education system to find it. And I watch Fox News but certainly do not hold it as gospel. 90% of todays media is controlled by five major corporations and Fox is no exception. They are, however, the only major news outlet that is not anti Trump all day every day. Fair and honest journalism is dead.
  15. What? There's hope? Although that's kind of a scary alternative to the far left. What's next? Wrench derangement syndrome? I'd be proud to be considered a member of your "base"!
  16. Good for you. And, yes, those pesky taxes can get a conversation back on point in a hurry! Way back in the early 70's when I was at KU, Lawrence was like most other universities of the time. Very anti-war, pro love, hippie, liberal left but it wasn't everywhere like it is over there now. There were more left leaning professors than right but at least there were some conservative thinkers and it made a difference. Just a modicum of debate and discussion in the classroom gave us a taste of how the other side saw things and made it thought provoking to try and figure out where you stood. Heck, one day I was a flag waving Nixon guy and then after an evening with one of those long, tall, blonde flower power chicks I was ready to save the whales! The whole deal is just about listening to each other even if just a little bit. Unfortunately, now it's either THIS or you're a racist, sexist, homophobic hater who must be silenced. I greatly preferred the flower power chicks myself.
  17. Oh, no question. And the educational system is everything. It was one of the very first things that Hitler seized control of. I was just trying to point out that someone saying that because they didn't take political classes in college proves that they were not indoctrinated while there doesn't hold water. But most importantly, it doesn't even matter. What matters are your beliefs and actions and if you believe old white guys are "entitled" or somehow inferior to yourself then you are the racist and the sexist - not them. Bigotry welcomes all comers ya know. As for the educational system, I thought Charles Krauthammer summed it up pretty good years ago when he said, "Conservatives gave up the fight the day they walked away from the college campuses." Gonna be tuff to get that Genie back in ANY bottle now. Man, I need to go fishin'.
  18. I completely agree Wrench. I go through the same thing with Kathy all the time. And I am not for a second trying to imply that I stand above the fray and don't make unjustified judgements about people or groups cause I do. We are all to at least some extent products of our environment and we spend everyday of our lives learning and adjusting fire based upon experiences and behavior. Nothing wrong with that. But it kills me that the people that declare themselves to be "inclusive" and "diverse" are in real life the exact opposite. In reality, they want nothing to do with anything "diverse" or that doesn't align with their ideology and that's nonnegotiable. "Inclusiveness?" Please. They want to include everyone except again those who don't fall in line with their beliefs and way of thinking. The radicals (on both sides) aren't interested at all in what's best or right or wrong only in taking over and compelling everyone else to fall in line. Or else. Don't stand in judgement of me, they say as they stand in judgement of us and everyone else. Dang shame that meaningful discourse and debate along with common sense and logical thinking is all but dead. But then again so am I so there's that........
  19. Look Honey! HONEY LOOK! I've got ANOTHER one and it's even BIGGER than the LAST one! Wow! ๐Ÿ˜ก
  20. It doesn't much matter what a guy majored in or what his degree is in or even what classes he took or where he took them. If he judges any specific group of people much less labels or discriminates against them in any way based upon the color of their skin then he is a racist. If he judges, labels or discriminates against a specific group of people based upon their sex then he is a sexist. And it doesn't matter if he was or wasn't "indoctrinated" by the liberal educational system.
  21. You have a cane pole? What's your favorite? Are they available online? Do they come in a "Pro" model? Gotta get me one of these babies.........๐Ÿค”
  22. Lucky for me I didn't have any! I kinda knew from jump street that there wasn't gonna be enough to go around and me still have enough to be happy. And I'm WAY too stingy to share any of my toys!
  23. Well, now, that's just great. The stuff that Bo recommended hasn't even got here yet and now you gotta tell me about THIS stuff too? I need to figure out a way to put some sort of parental block on this forum! ๐Ÿ˜–
  24. Ya know, I've been doing the six pound mono and fluoro deal (as well as the hybrid stuff) for about as long as I can remember going back to good ol' Trilene XL. From there went to P-line Floroclear then tried some of Bill's Maxima (which I just didn't get along with at ALL), and Yo-Zuri hybrid. Four or five years ago started using the Seaguar Invizx which I really kinda liked but it became a little cost prohibitive what with me being on the "fixed income" and all. I just couldn't get more than two or three days out of it at the most before I had to respool everything again. Considering the cost of a thousand yards of that stuff every couple of weeks the fish oughta be catching themselves...... Last year I went back to P-line and Yo-Zuri. I find it to cast pretty darn good, the price is right and if I drag it out behind the boat every now and then it lasts a lot longer than the Seaguar. Maybe not quite as supple right out of the box but close enough to justify the savings in cost. I tried the Bass Pro stuff that you like a few years ago and quite honestly can't remember what I thought about it but must have liked the other stuff better or I'd still be using it. Might need to relook that option next spring. Tried some of that red stuff (Cajun maybe?) and hated it. Also sampled some Sufix, Power Pro and Sunline. Can't remember much about the Sufix other than I haven't bought anymore. I kinda liked the Sunline but it got back to cost factor. As for braid, I've personally never really been much of a fan but I'm always looking to try something different just to see what I might be missing out on and at thirteen bucks for a hundred yards I thought I'd give it a shot. Plus, I seem to have some sort of long distance man crush on Bo in that when he speaks highly of something I just feel obligated to give it a try! Of course, now that I think about it you and Babler have the same effect on me so...... Bottome line (pun intended) I could use some serious counseling. ๐Ÿ™ƒ
  25. Sounds good Bo - I'll check it out. Thanks for all the great advice and videos that you offer up!
