I got out and bank fished in a cove not far from home (henry hollow). I fished several things... shakey head, Ned, chater bait, weightless senko, jig, weightless fluke. The fluke is the only thing I caught anything on and it was only 1, but a good 2 to 3 lbs.
I went out last Sundayand fount the bite scattered as well. Caught some nice ones on a square bill and jig. My biggest was a 4 lb on the jig, halfway back in a cove, next to a stump in about 2 ft of water.
I haven't seen any posts lately about what the fish are doing and how they have been caught. I plan on fishing Holiday Island to Eagle Rock on Sunday. Any suggestions? It has been pretty slow on Beaver and I haven't fished Table Rock in a while.
I went out Monday with visiting family member. We got a late start (7:30 AM) and put in at the dam. Fished in Indin creek and caught a few small ones on shakey heads and jigs. Caught more and bigger ones on the jig with a craw trailer. The bite fizzled there so moved up toward north Clifty since I had arranged to tow my neighbors boat from his dock to Sylvan Shores boat ramp. On the way my oil light/alarm came on. Shut it down, waited tried again. Same thing so idled the rest of the way to my neighbors. The oil resevoir on the motor was low but main was quite full. Put oil in the small reservoir, primed it and all was good. Towed my neighbor to the ramp then continued fishing in that area. Didn't do to bad. We caught about 10 or 12 bass. It was a mixed bag of spots, largemouth and smallies. The largest about 2 or 2 1/2 lbs. Headed back to the dam about 2:45. No oil alarm on the way in. Tried to upload images of Zacks fish but woulnt load.
If it warms up a bit I'd like to get out for some bass fishing. As I get older I have turned into somewhat of a fair weather fisher. Anyone know what the water temp has dropped to? I'm guessing mid 50's?
I put in at Dam Site Park around noon and went to Indian Creek. Didnt go way back. I tried the first couple of coves first. With the breeze blowing I figured I'd try a sb, no luck. Threw a few faster moving baits like a lip less crank bait, a chatter bait and swim jig - nothing. So I decided to go finesse with a chigger craw on a shakey head. I finally got my first fish not far in the cove out in about 10/15 ft of water. I got 3 decent smallmouth between and around docks and missed a couple. Went to next cove and hauled water. Finally decided to go to the very back of Indian. There I caught a largemouth about 2 lbs. Several spotted bass and 2 smallies. Not a bad day, all on the shakey head. And it was a beautiful day God gave us befor the cold hits.
Got to say I love my skeeter. The ride is smooth.
