  1. I was not burning it but not slow rolling it either. The water was not brown but was murky so it didn't take much to not be able to see it. It was a white spinner bait. She was in about 4 or 5 ft of water. None of the bites I got were hard and most were right up in or close to the brush or lay downs.
  2. I'd have to say War Eagle Auburn! I do like Bama and Tennessee though.
  3. Yep, War Eagle!
  4. Yeah, I love the blade bite! I pitch a jig a lot this time of year too but chose the blade.
  5. Sorry for the double post
  6. Went out Saturday afternoon. Got on the water about 3 and fished till almost dark. I put in at Eagle Rock. Thew a square bill and they just bumped it, switched to a wart- nothing. Put a spinner bait on and started catching. Had about five or six keepers, one being my biggest Table Rock bass to date. She was about 21" or 22" long (my board is only 18") and I estimate about 8 1/2 pounds. I know one thing... It is not easy taking a selfie with short arms and fitting a big fish in! I'll send if I can post a picture.

  8. I agree with champ. By the way, are you part of the Morrow clan up in PA?
  9. I just got the tourn. Pro. Threw a wieghtless baby fluke and weightless worm. It did great! I was really impressed with the distance I was able to get on my casts. I have small hands and the reel fits my hand great! I'm sure it will become my favorite reel quite soon if I could ever get out and fish more!
  10. Rps, I hear about you occasionally from S. Wesley. I put in at HI quite often. What boat do you have? Maybe I'll see you out there. I have a 21 ss, red and gray atratos.
  11. I would say I had beginners luck ! Either way it was a lot of fun !
  12. Put in at Emerald Beach Sat. I keep reading about jigging a spoon and decided to try it.I have had some spoons but never tried it before. We found some fish in 30ft and I dropped the spoon on them. I caught 2 pretty quick. Both good keepers. One a SM, the other a football K. Moved up the point a little and didn't get any more so moved back and caught 2 more then they quit. Fished a jig, a jerk bait and A rig going part way back into a cove, nothing. Went to another point, found more fish in 30 ft and caught several more on the spoon. All my fish were keepers. Best five about 16 or 17 lbs. I think I'm "hooked" on spooning! Caught Ks, SM and LM.
  13. It is the cove on Starkey Island that faces the Dam Site Park and the water intake. They are almost positive they have marked him an sonar and the dogs that were brought in marked the same place. The problem is it is the heaviest cover in the whole cove. The divers can't see down there, the trees are so thick, there are old trot lines and all kinds or fishing lures. It made for a dangerous situation for the divers. Some of the divers got snagged by hooks down there. My partner heads up the Search and Rescue. She said they were all very frustrated because they knew where he was they just couldn't get to him. It is a sad situation and I feel for the wife and kid.
  14. looks like you had some fun. Nice fish!
  15. Quillback, we didn't catch them if there wasn't pea gravel. Chunk rock mixed in was good but just junk rock didn't work.
  16. Ham, we were seeing 53 and 54 for water temps. We even had some down a bank all the way to the back of a cove that the wind was blowing down. They were hitting from 1 ft of water to about 8 or 9. I would say most were in the 6 to 8 ft range.
  17. Yesterday We put in at Viola about 1:00 pm. Had a great day! Found some wind blown pea gravel points and banks and started throwing a spinner bait. We just slayed them. We caught about 50 total. They hit like a freight train and but up a good fight. Only caught a couple keepers but had a blast! Most fish were just shy of 15". They all looked fat and healthy. Some looked like footballs. It was a beautiful day to be out and catching them like that made it even better. Unfortunately I didn"t have a camera or would have some pics to post.
  18. Skeeter, I 100 percent agree with you. Up in the mouth of Panther Creek there is a big dock that has been built and not a single person keeps their boat docked there. It has about 10 or 15 slips in it and has been there at least 5 or 6 years, maybe longer. It is a good place to pull into if it is rainy or you want to just chill and eat your lunch in some shade. Becky
  19. I threw a buzz bait this weekend and caught a bunch. Had one keeper on it. Then threw a spinner bait and caught a bunch for a while with one keeper then switched to jig with a craw. I caught a bunch on it with one keeper. Also threw a texas rigged senko, caught a bunch but no keepers. All were caught off of chunk rock banks.
  20. was wondering if there was any top water action today with the rain and cloud cover. I hope some one is lucky enough to be able to try it since I'm not.
  21. I agree with you 100% Champ.DenJack, sounds like an awsome day. Glad some body is able to get out there and enjoy some good fishing. I haven't been able to make it for a month.
  22. Fished clifty today. Temps were any where from 64 to 68. Caught some on the spook this morning. then fished a jig and a lizard didn't do to bad. when we got in to an area with some breeze thew the blade. I never caught one on the blade but my buddy caought one. All in all not a bad day.
