Great pics. I joked with him that he was just waiting for me to fall in. I beat him on the officail clicker count but I think he missed a few. I used the cheater stick, baitcaster with a jig, part of the time

My friend went 6/2 in evening fishing for bass. not much luck with the bass but caught 7 walleye with a few keepers and lost a large one at the boat. we we on Saturday very little wind, did fair on the bass but he boated 6 walleyes only 2 under 15" and lost 3 at the boat all in 4-8 fow on the Ned. I boated a 16'". found a crawfish in ones gullet. I figure the crawfish must be doing something up shallow. Why we didn't do better on the bass I don''t know.My friend was throwing Orange /green pumpkin, I was having issues with my ned rig setup that day was relunctant to switch to such a gawdy orange bait. We released the walleye figuring we never get a descent buch of walleye while bass fishing. After boating the 5th one we questioned our wisdom.

You're use a different fly every trip just to make me think you know something. Or you jusy like showing your beauties on OA -
Did you catch your fish all on the A rig or did you try other baits?
-
Lookes like she's worn down her tail or wasn't blessed with much of one. Did you weigh it, looks 6+.

Fished Stockton yesterday and today. Caught 3 keeper LM and maybe 10 shorts yesterday but no Whites despite doing my best. went today armed with an A rig. No thirty minute limit but did put a limit in the boat and threw a few back. Only caught 2 that weren't near the 2 # class. Tried jigging spoon, swimbait, spinnerbait, crankbait, roadrunner.None of these would produce in the same areas I was catching them with the A rig. I had 1 A rig without blades but I went to BP on the way and picked up one with blades. Also I started with 4"swimbaits and got a lot of misses. Put a 3" on the terminal bait and did better.. Like most everyone I have resisited throwing the A word. It is not a simple throw and retrieve, not to mention the effort that is required.

Hows the water clarity. I tried to float right before the last big rise in the water. Even the the water was on the higher side of fishable water and also colored.we started at Ponce went down thruogh 2 riffles when the rain hit hard for 1 hour. We decided to pull the boat back up to the put-in.Goff creek was running chocolate water into the stream.we were in my 17ft paddle john which we launched off of the trailer. The put-in requires 4wd when it is dry so we had to carry all our gear to therode and then pull the boat up oever the mud bank and up to the road. Didn't have as much fun as you had ysterday.

Is marble ground the campground just before Mcall Bridge? Went by there last week and they have a new sign up> looks like they are trying for business.

Sounds like jpb2187 had the same plan family trip get out of this heat and fish alittle. Drove up from Spfd Mo. Got out for 2 days of smallmouth fishing with Chris Johnson guiding us in a decked out 21ft triton. Went out of Egg Harbor and caught fish right off on the point just at the edge of the harbor. My wife was with me and she has never really fished but Chris had her casting a tube jig fairly quickly. She fisfed for only an hour or so but managed to catch a few, one 18". I was throwing a ned rig most of the time. Not huge numbers maybe 15 for the day but all quality 16" up to 20" ,most of then 17-18. Next day it was just Chris and I, (jpb you could havecome with us). shortly after getting on the water it started to rain. Not a drizzle but never downpouring just steady rain witha good breeze. Wasn't cold thoughso we managed. Glad i took my bibs inaddition to a rain coat. Unfortuanately the bite wasn't happening. Worked several spots 8-15fow all no more than 100 yds off shore. Caugth a couple smll fish on ned. Switched over to swimbaits and did better. The rain and wind died so we headed out to a nearby island. Fished and big 12ft deep flat with no luck. Just as we headed back the wind came up and generated 3--4 ft waves so we had a long 5 mile trip back to Egg Harbor. His boat handled them fine it was just slow. Julie's first smallmouthSmallmouth aren'tthe only fish here Sorry for the sideways pics. I know there are better times to go up to door county for fishing but to get out of this heat when the fishing can be slow and go out and catch smallmouth this size was quite a treat. Next time I'll tow my boat up there. It is only a 17 1/2 ft aluminium but wiht an eye on the weather I think it can be safely done.

made my first trip to door county, just got back. Hadn't seen this post yet. We stayed near Fish Creek and I fished 2 days with a guide for smallies out of Egg Harbor. Were you fishing inSturgeon Bay? I'm going to post a thread here with some pics. Definitely want to go back.
