  1. Kinda of a wierd ritual of the locals... Gotta watch your back in Hickory county.
  2. RS, Anything you would share?? Im headed down on Friday and figured it would be pretty tough, Thanks
  3. Fly, have you had good success with a buzzbait on Pomme? Anyone else had topwater luck here?
  4. I read the fishing reports coming out of the TableRock thread and get jelous as hell of the topwater bite they are getting on that lake. I have never been able to get on a good topwater bite at Pomme. Maybe because I give up too easily and it just builds on the thought that Pomme just isnt a good topwater lake. Has anyone been hitting them on top? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Chris
  5. Thank you sir!
  6. MOPan, Any update on what level they plan to draw down to? Thanks
  7. Very tough weekend. I had a few shorts on a jig on secondary points and two very nice fish (one 6+) on a jerkbait off of a gravel main lake point, but that was it. Water still cold, lake dropping, blah blah blah it should not be this tough right now. Gotta believe that this lake is gunna pop very soon.
  8. Great fish Basser! Im jelous as hell, I gotta get down and throw the jerkbait, it was by far my best bite last year..
  9. How was fishing? what are they hitting?
  10. OK... what about bass in August? Im heading down this weekend, anyone have any advice??? Chris
  11. Can you get a boat back to the bridge this time of year? Would it be worth trying?
  12. Hillbilly and SRV how did you do?
  13. Tom, I just got back from 4 days at Holiday Hideaway, what a great place. We had a group of 25 and it worked out perfect for us. Aunts Creek is still very stained, but the spinnerbait bite was on pretty good in the bushes. We also ran down to Indian Point and did great on the smallies with the fish Dr. Good luck
  14. Can Anyone give me the location of a ramp on the southeast side of the lake????
  15. Slow Slow Slow! Very limited success this weekend on any species. Nice weather and Fall fishing do not mix. Bring on the cold windy days to get the whites schooled up. I guess I will have to try again in a couple of weeks.
  16. Have the whites started yet? It looks like the surface temp has dropped from 75 to 68 over the last 3 or 4 days, Im sure hoping that this gives the whites and hybrids the boost they need to get their feed on... I had an absolute blast catching them last fall and would love to get into them again this weekend. Anyone been fishing the lower osage recently? Where are the blacks?
  17. I used to think they were not very good to eat, but if you cut out the red V in the middle and the pink fat next to the skin and finally soak them in Sprite for 3o minutes, they are great eating. Its a little more work, but it makes them very tasty. For the casual fisherman who gets out 6 or 7 weekends a year, I LOVE catching a mess between fishing for the "real" Bass. Conman
  18. Great report Lilley, I appreciate the extra effort it take to insert the pic. Very cool you are taking your nephews. Sounds like a great Morning.
  19. Friday morning was great with 4 keepers before 7am on the Fluke. Once the sun was up the bite was slow for us. We did end up with 3 more keepers in the evening. Sat (tourny day) was very tough for us, nothing to weigh. Out of 16 boats the winning team had 17.87 with the bite coming on wacky rig centipedes fished behind docks. The second place team weighed over 16lbs, they were throwing white Senkos off the bluffs. Big Bass of the day, 5.23, came on a crankbait.
  20. Bill, Thanks for all the help. One of these days Im gunna buck up learn these things in person from the back of your boat. But for now... You say "in the top of the water column and mid depth to the bottom"... What does this mean? What color Fish Dr's are working best. I will be in the Big M area starting tomorrow. Do you think these techniques will work down there? Thanks Again
  21. Anyone else buy into the "Tablerock Color" for spinnerbaits? or do you stick to white and or Chartreuse. What brand and size do you use? Thanks Guys
  22. Guys, I am looking for advice. I have never floated or fished the Gasconade, but am planning on doing it next Thursday. I am open as to what part of the river to float, we are coming from St. Louis. I need to find a rental place that will rent a boat and haul us up the river. I would prefer a john boat that we could mount a trolling motor on. Suggestions please. Thanks
