Buster introduced me to Bob Tyndle and we became good friends and fishing buddies. Bob was a great guy to be around and a very accomplished fisherman He once had a Ranger 487vs like mine that he had used on the pro tour. Needless to say I let him drive and run the trolling motor. I feel like he knew TR as well as anyone. Fond memories

I had the honor of fishing with Buster on many occasions. Middle of the night for giant stripers, stickbaits for walleye on mud flat dropoffs, swimbaits for SM on main lake flats, huge white bass in the back of coves with stickbaits, and much more. He was a dear friend of Mike Gundy, the head football coach of Oklahoma State because they were both all state wrestlers and football studs. I will be forever grateful for what he taught me about SM bass fishing. It helped me immeasurably to show my grandsons the pure joy of latching on to a big powerful SM. RIP Buster

Might be a bit similar to the fight they put up against the Jayhawks ππ

Try to live every day like it is your last one. No squabbles, harsh words, and other regrets. Very few leave this world knowing it is going to be their last day. Oh, and don't forget to be grateful for each new day. π

Thanks Bill, I'm good about putting them in standby or turning them off For as old as they are they have relatively few hours on them. I will test the 73% etc. settings to see if I can improve the 2d. Dockits images are quite a bit better then mine

I have 2 Lowrance HDS Gen 2 units (not touch units) I am using the original out of the box transducers and they seem to work just ok. Would there be a benefit to replacing them with new transducers? Are there any new transducers that are compatible with my HDS Gen 2 units that would be an upgrade? I have the Lowrance Structure Scan setup as well and it still produces nice views. Thanks for the help

Thanks, I'll check that out.

I have 2 Lowrance HDS Gen 2 units with side and downscan installed on my Ranger. The units are networked to share mapping and waypoint management. The system has functioned well for me but I am interested in updating the transducer on the bow if there is an upgrade available. Do any of you know if there is a better 2d transducer available to mount on my trolling motor? Thanks

I have read the comments in this thread with a great deal of interest. There have been a number of very thoughtful comments and perspectives. I spent my life chasing the American Dream and was able to enjoy a number of special experiences that came my way. Golfing with Willie Nelson, adventure diving with Fijian Special Forces, fishing with Rick Clunn, and a lot of cool cars, to name just a few. But non of it matters much now except worshipping our Lord, my wonderful family and being grateful for all the good and learning to forget the slights. The greatest source of pleasure in life comes from being genuinely grateful.

It seems to me that algae, rot snot and maybe even e coli contamination could be a result of a concentration of septic systems. The north side of Clevenger (with a high concentration of septic systems) looked like a farm pond most of April and May. Just an observation

After 20 years in the corporate world, I started my own business and ran it reasonably successfully for 25 years. I recently sold it and my office building and have fully retired. Working with the public can be a challenging and I learned to be a good listener, nod a lot, and never talk politics with a customer or client. There is seldom an opportunity to have a sensible discussion with someone that is completely committed to being wrong ππ Try to keep silent and wonder to yourself how someone could be such an angry fool. π€ͺ

We had a great day together capped off by this nice smallmouth. The size we have been catching is just amazing. I told him not to get think it was always this good...π

I was unpleasantly surprised by the number of wake boats and jet skis there were today. I was hoping we would get a few weeks to fish before the flotilla commenced π£π£

We released this fish but gentleman who made a replica for us was from Smithville in NW Missouri. He has a degree in Marine Biology. He said this fish was a cross between a smallmouth and a largemouth. It did have brown eyes not red ones like a spot hybrid.

I think all the outboards available today are good but I do have some reservations about Brunswick Corporation. They have had difficulty with a variety of ventures since making a great bowling ball. It took Harley Davidson years to recover from the Brunswick years. In addition, there are few domestic companies that have comparable R & D resources to global juggernauts like Bombardier, Honda, Yamaha, etc. Examples include: Yamaha and Tohatsu have provided Mercury outboard powerheads and parts for years. Porsche makes the engine for Harley VRod motorcycles. Yamaha supplies engines to Ford, Volvo and Toyota. Bombardier builds Lear Jets. Darn hard to compete with.

University of Missouri continues death spiral after sacrificing dignity and integrity to deranged student protesters. The misery slamming Mizzou is only getting worse following their shameful 2015 performance when, faced with a mob of entitled, cultish students throwing tantrums, they responded by agreeing to more or less everything. Even this past July there was plenty for us to talk about with university enrollment falling by 35% over two years, seven dorms closing, and over 400 positions being cancelled. Recently, however, Jillian Kay Melchior of The Wall Street Journal offered not only some scathing alumni reports regarding the University of Missouri, but some additional damage statistics. Melchior writes: One of perhaps the most fitting accounts included by Melchior came from a Mr. Victor Wirtz: This is the legacy schools bring upon themselves when they encourage and appease the SJW hordes. Violence, intolerance, and cowardice. People avoid the Berkleys and the Mizzous because, no matter how lofty their past reputations may be, the enabling of thuggery and entitlement leads to nothing but embarrassment. PC policies just donβt lend themselves to making money, loyal alumni, or educated student bodies. Sources: The Wall Street Journal
