  1. Fished my heart out for this one, after looking at the pics, she was caught earlier this week by a guides client. I taped her at 32". I would like to say thank you to the old timers who have passed down a lot of hard earned wisdom to me and my friends in the parking lot and at the pavilion. This fish is a true testament to catch and release, and the work of the MDC. Triploid triploid triploid. Thank you to the guys with the tape and who walked down after I flashed my light and hollered for them!! View full article
  2. The best thing to do is have a game plan for all water levels. You can catch fish at all flows you just gotta figure out how. Once you do and you quit living by the flows you will be a happier man.
  3. I think I know but....
  4. Think of how many of Johnny Morris' trout are now in Table Rock from Dogwood Canyon. I would say quite a few come from there and espeacially the one aarch caught in Baxter. With all these floods he has basically done annually stockings!
  5. Both the MO state parks and the Springfield news leader claim the new state park in Branson has the "crystal clear waters of Roark creek" flowing through it however they fail to mention the neighborhood of trailers of or Tunnel Drive just north of Branson West that have no septic service of any kind. They simply have pipes coming out of the trailers that the raw sewage exits through. This sewage goes down the hill and washes into Roark Creek which will be flowing through the new park as well as it already flows through another Branson city park, and into lake Taneycomo.
  6. Love the silhouette of them against the light.
  7. I've worked at Indian Point Marina for 9 years now and more and more frequently we are seeing injuries related to wake, the gentleman that drowned at the beginning of summer, although he wasn't wearing a pfd or a kill switch, was thrown from his boat after hitting a large wake. Twice this summer we had ladies that had to be taken by ambulance because of injuries sustained from boating in rough water. One of them had to be sedated to be removed because her pain was so intense. More docks will bring bigger boats, bigger boats are owned by folks that have no business operating them. Dock building is a money maker for our area, however, the end result wouldn't be in anyone's favor except for those making a dime that have nothing to do with the lake. Salesman and realtors.
  8. Indian Point is open just no water or electricity
  9. Met that guy the other night, he was really cool!
  10. Glad you got into them Phil, the night bite has been tough for us, although I will admit I have not thrown purple and red.
  11. Phil how is the DO doing right now ?
  12. That was me and the old guy mickey
  13. So the other day a little storm blew in, wind and hail and a lot of heavy rain. It had just calmed down when a guy in a ski boat came in and told the old guy working that he wasn't sure but thought there may be a body out in the lake. Looking out from the gas dock about 250 yards towards the main lake you could see a big object. Bloated. The two went out and stayed with it while the young lady at the gas dock called WP. They were there in 10-20 minutes and western Taney had a basket they guided under him and got him out. Really glad this event can be over now for his family.
  14. There are fish up top, but like these pics show there are browns that haven't made the move yet!
  15. I fished it twice the last couple weeks. Early morning people were doing well on rooster tails and meps.
  16. Multiple eye witnesses saw it happen. His remains haven't been recovered.
  17. Never recovered
  18. Thanks for the useful info!
  19. The guy that runs the the dive shop at Indian point is about the most legit diver you ever met, the WP is going to have him do some dives. If the body was cut by the prop then the body may never come up on its own.
  20. The guy had just launched at stillwaters and was running his boat out of the creek headed for the main lake when he hit a wake in front of Indian Point Marina and was ejected from his boat. Folks from different parts of the marina saw it happen and saw the guy in the water struggling. The owner of the marina jumped into a pontoon and raced out there but could not get to the guy in time. The bass boat was circling in full throttle and the marina owner took a tube rope and was able to get it in front of the boat and tangle the prop. The water patrol searched until about midnight and dove a few spots and suspended efforts for the evening and diving operations began the next morning at 5:30. It was unsuccessful and the WP ran imaging all day on the area of the incident where they marked a few points that are going to be dove tonight 5/28 after the boating traffic has slowed for the day.
  21. I have fished Taney a lot as a non boater. If the weather is nice and the water up I would highly recommend going creek fishing. The James, Swan Creek, and Beaver Creek are close enough that I would go chase smallies then be confined to the outlets and competing with the hip wader crowd.
  22. Deerdude64 that was me on the phone. A a few years ago the COE turned the ramp over to the marina owner. So we ripped out the money box.
  23. I'm sure you will get some info here on bull shoals. Just know bull shoals has zebra mussels and table rock does not. Yet. Please be careful and take preventative measures if going back and forth.
  24. Free to launch. Slips are $20 a night
  25. Last year I called them (JRO) to see if they would shuttle my vehicle and drift boat trailer from horse creek to galena and they said because of insurance purposes they couldn't. I think hunk they told me I could do that, but I'm needing my drift boat trailer shuttled
