  1. Wait... what?
  2. All about your timing. Those practice rods are great for learning to get that down.
  3. Good stuff. I recognize some of those flies.
  4. I tie on a peak. Is it more expensive than a bottom line vise... yea. Is it cheaper than a lot of vises... yea. It has made a huge difference being able to rotate the vise see the other side of the fly. Will it make you a pro by tying on it? No. Will it give you a hand up though? Yes. Tying on a rotary has probably made the biggest difference in my skill other than number of flies I have tied over the years.
  5. I know a few streams where the trout fishes like the dark stoneflies.
  6. Just search crackleback or google it. any chartreuse body would work. Even thread.
  7. When I started fly fishing as a little kid my dad didn't see the difference between tippet with that X and regular fishing mono. Years later I gave up caring about that as well and now buy 100 yard spools of flouro for something like $5. I usually carry 10,8,6,4 on me and a spool of 7x. I dont think to this point I have ever caught less fish because of this approach. And now I dont cringe when I have to rebuild a leader like I used to when I was buying those 30 yard spools of expensive tippet, or premade leaders.
  8. Without a matching pair it wont be of a whole lot of use. you could use it for something like a shellback but it wont have any mottling like a turkey feather will. unless there are biots, and I dont think there are, toss it or keep it, up to you. Hope that helps!
  9. Ill be there again this year. Probably fishing saturday and sunday if anyone wants to get together and do some fishing. I did ok last year but want to stick a toad this year!
  10. She just needs to find her way into the front of a boat.
  11. I mail you a $5 bill, you mail me a box of hooks?
  12. Take a look at the 7mm-08 great little gun with plenty of punch and not much recoil.
  13. What do you want for a box?
  14. Just upload to photobucket them copy the IMG code. Use the photobucket app. plenty easy.
  15. On a "30" foot cast, yes. however most lines heave a taper that will still be changing around the 30 foot mark or just finishing their taper. I would say go with 30 feet of the actual fly line.
  16. I'd want two or more units running probably. get yourself a topo map and follow the channel.
  17. Strips of card board. cut slits and you can fit them together to make compartments.
  18. Something to try... Find a big coat. Put your hand in the sleeve. Fit the reel in the sleeve Hold Handle of rod all in sleeve of said jacket. If you have to tape it all up so you can't bend your wrist. Figure out how to feel the rod throw the linen instead of you.
  19. Am I now missing a deleted post?
  20. A little bit of everything, mostly thinking of warmer weather.
  21. I forgot to add recipes. Mine are not hard. Fly 1: Tail: Rubber Legs Body: Ice Dub Rib: Red Ultrawire Hackle: Black Wing: Turkey Fly 2: Tail: Hen Hackle Body: Ice Dub Head: Bullet style black deer hair, over a lead base
