  1. Olive & Oak in Webster is nice, so is the Block, & Sushi Station. Robust good for a cocktail. Living in the WG bubble. Everyone is nice, and all is above average.
  2. There is that rolled ice cream place in the loop. Forget the name...girls loved it, fru, fru, and about $7-8 bucks a cup...is delicious though. Cant really name a favorite restaurant anymore. Hardly go out. Edgewild, and Walnut Grill are popular with my Westco restaurant owners. So many new spots....
  3. We have a ton of new choices. Most are pretty darn good. Food Culture and the restaurant business is allot more competitive now.

    What's Cooking?

Ness the temp does not vary at all and it can go a very long time. We had had some very good results plus it thaws frozen meat really well.

Have checked its accuracy a couple different ways. It is very accurate to temperature . What you dial in is what you get. Have had ours for couple years. Holds up well.

Looks great! Have the same Anova device. Makes some great stuff.
  7. Did get your PM, FW. She should look locally...Huge talent deficit in my industry. Always room for a smart kid, with a good work ethic, and communications skills...need them locally though. Hard to find.
  8. Looking for someone with basic small business accounting skills, some tax knowledge a plus, good work ethic, and good communication skills. Westport in STL. If you know of someone, I would like to talk to them.
  9. I use the Octopus hooks and a pretty stiff 6'8" spin rod..Braid, and a leader.
  10. Now hiring!
  11. The Roubi does go underground for quite aways, upper above the wasting stretch gets hammered and can't repopulate other than by reproduction. Lower can repopulate from the Gasconade but gets hammered too.
  12. Think all caught at least one 20"+ smallmouth, abundant 12-18" smallmouth. Didn't really fish Walleye except for small lunch fish. Best was around the 27-28" mark, did not measure just let it go. Had some fun with the pike but nothing over 3' long landed. Buddy had a 4' plus monster pike blow his WTD plug out of the water. Did have some fly rod fun with my 9wt. Remote lake, boated in on a bigger lake with 2 guide boats and a canoe. Hauled the canoe and or gear up the outlet of the smaller lake with two waiting boats w motors. 75' vertical up slick granite to the middle lake. Dan & Scott took the canoe further up to another lake, and 3 of us shared the middle lake in the two motor boats. Lots of dumb bass & pike up there. Ate everything you tossed even with the motor running.
  13. Always bring a pocket full of Sailor Caps!
  14. Failoni's on Manchester on Cougar night. Know the Famous Bar well, my friend used to own it 50/50 with his brother. Sold out to his brother about 8-9 years ago.

Hard to go wrong with braised meat & a cream of mushroom base. Looks good!
  16. I can tell very little difference in freshly caught & cooked white flaky fish species. Some will hold in the freezer for awhile, some won't. Trout & salmon need to be wild or feral for good flavor. Indifferent to catfish.
  17. Bummer, sight in at battle sight zero (200M) like the Marine Corps does and you would have meat in the freezer. Can hold dead on mostly and kill shorter or a bit longer depending on the cartridge.
  18. Takes a bit of time to learn those lakes. Sattelite imagery helps if it is a clear water lake. It can show some of of the better points and some of the offshore rock piles. Won't help you on a tanic stained water lake. Electronics help on those. Sometimes you find a reef with your prop! We had 5 in our party. Took 3 guides, and 3 boats out on 3 different lakes our first 3 days. Did the next 4 days on our own. Depending on the destination we would tow in a bigger boat with a 50hp, or grab some 15hp motors and a gas cans to load on a remotely stationed boat. Only fished 7 days, hit 6 different lakes, and they had boats on 34 more lakes.
  19. It was a slow year according to the guides at Camp Quetico. Lake levels were very high, and they had a cold summer. Weed growth was very sparse and the fish were scattered. Fishing was good though, Guess I had better companions.
  20. It’s a dead elk, don’t really care. Will be good eats for someone maybe.
  21. Heard Dad called directly when he found out.
  22. Wife would skin me alive if I did something like that. They penalty at home might be greater than those provided by law.
  23. Don't know anyone in your area but my sister uses a mobile butcher for her cattle. All gets done on site so you know you get your meat back.
  24. That's a nasty way to go, my best to the family. Lost a friend to ALS several years ago.
