  1. Awesome! Good for you both!

    What's Cooking?

Mallard breast with a port wine, balsamic, blueberry sauce, risotto with onion & mushrooms, and asparagus.
  3. You would be lucky to get 2-3 fish worth weighing on the Lower Meramec. It's 15 minutes from my house, and not worth my time or gas money.
  4. Agree, just do it. Used to fish around the Bluff's allot when it was an active campground. My Uncle, Stepmom, and a few others still own a couple lots down there.
  5. Looks like a couple Shannon Twin Spins too. Standard stuff, but neat to have. All would catch fish today.

    Slow!

Hard to go wrong with an egg sandwich! Looks like some strong south winds on Wednesday & Thursday. Hope you get some.
  7. Outcomes are allot better now. Hope they both recover quickly.
  8. You can fish both on the same trip, only a hour between the two. I like fishing the NFoW allot better than Arkansas, but it is allot easier to catch in Arkie. A day trip to the Eleven Point is my usual Plan B when the NFoW is fishing slow.
  9. Was on at Fountain Grove this AM. Hunted solo on a 3 pill. Shot & called poorly but scratched out 4 Greenheads in 2 hours and 24 shots. Did I mention that I shot like crap! Worked several big bunches. Teal buzzed me at first light but only mallards after that. Saw some specks flying high. Was a good day!
  10. Justin sold Sunburst to Bryan Bade, great guy. Very good flyfisherman,
  11. There is a landfill at 141 and Prichard Farm Rd...Not as bad as the West Lake Landfill in Bridgeton, or Weldon Spring. West Lake & Weldon both contain nuclear waste.
  12. Squirrel might have gotten into some Fentanyl or bath salts. Our urban wildlife have allot of bad habits.
  13. I've caught goldeye on the Middle Gasconade. Decent smallie fishing in that area too.
  14. Sounds like good times Mitch. Glad you got some Wily, I do appreciate your input...Think they work fine if I set up right 2 panels, one front, one back. Copied the design from the panels they use to hide in corn at a club in S. Illinois. Used to be Keck's Marsh.
  15. Rodloft Pro for sale, has all mounting harware. $50 pick up in St. Louis area 63119.
  16. Wrong North Fork Pete...The river is spring fed so it will be floatable & fishable. I don't know where you are staying, but you could wade at Sunburst Ranch or River of Life Farm if staying there. Its a bit of a haul for both, but you can wade up from Patrick Bridge or Kelly Ford as well. Fish deep, and wade carefully. The limestone bedrock on that river is really slick, the rocks are big, and the current is swift. Have floated my hat on that river many times.
  17. Portable Tiki Bar is done...No more projects just need to go hunting. Hope the ducks will die to get in.
  18. More like Pulp Fiction BMF...Former Recon Marine with 3 tours in Viet Nam.
  19. Never have tried grilling coot, will have to wack a few and try it. Have some cheep Super XX steel to burn. Headed to NWMO Weds-Sunday next week, with a reservation at Fountain Grove on Saturday 11/14. Latest is that FG is holding 40,000 ducks, 56,000 at Grand Pass, 25,000 on Swan so I might have a chance to kill a duck next week! Some snows, and specks too.
  20. I'll shoot coots if they are flying...Good target practice...and they taste OK in gumbo.
  21. How big are you? I had a OT Pack years ago. They are short and wobbly boats. I would not want a solo canoe under 14' long. Current solo is a 15' Mad River.
  22. You down at Terre du Lac? Looks like fun!

    What's Cooking?

On New Ballas, S. of Olive. West side of the street. You can walk in and order, or call ahead & carry out. No inside or outside seating at the moment.

    What's Cooking?

A little treat from Gioia's Deli for lunch. Hot Salami de teste on cheese garlic bread with giardinera. So good! This is the Creve Couer location. but just as good as the one on the Hill. Gioia's is a must visit if you come to St. Louis....James Beard award winner.
  25. Controlled burns are great for Wildlife. Up in MI they cut & burn allot of Jack Pine to help the Kirtlands Warbler. It only nests in Jack Pines of a certain size.
