  1. If you know where they are...dont say.....Dr. XYZ. at the zoo says so.
  2. Think main river not the branches right now....they move up in the spring, down in the fall. Springs will concentrate...but I'm figuring thats just as bad as wacking fish off beds in the spring.
  3. Wife and I were up at FP. round 1;30-2pm......two little girls...one in pink other purple...saw a couple folks I didnt get to say hi to...Dwayne, John E...ran into blinky Ted at the boathouse. Say hi...no big deal. Lots of folks out. Kids had a blast running around the frost on the ice rink.
  4. Thats a hoss! Congrats!
  5. Took the girls out for a half hour or so..no action so they lost interest. Had to settle for a walk in the park and fish & chips at the boat house.
  6. Looks like a great trip. Some of the best water on that river is right in front of Sunburst.
  7. Tater Tots.....28" brown..Pat's.....Beatty's 30" brown...Fox squirrel...a good drift with either is money.
  8. The Captains fish is a spot or a smallie/spot hybrid. QB's fish...looks like smallie/spot hybrid on the left and a spot on the right. There is alot of color variation among hybrids. Some are 50/50...others have crossed back a time or two.
  9. Jefferson Lake in Forest Park got a bunch today....3500+ should be the place to be for a couple of days...may take the little ones out to catch a few.
  10. Great news. Thanks for the link.
  11. Usually the first week of November.
  12. I've seen some sad story's. Former clients of mine would wast 10- 100k in an evening.Thought they had it figured out. They didnt. Didnt benefit anything...just a waste of money, Casino's suck...but if you think its fun and dont mind getting played like a sucker..please waste your money there.
  13. There are two kinds and the term hair jig is often used synonomously..Type 1-Hair jigs you fish like soft plastics...most of the ones I posted are of that type, Type 2)Float & Fly Jigs- are tied on minnow heads and meant to be suspended under a cork. The little blue, gray, yellow, & white jig I posted up is a float & fly jig.
  14. I toss the same jigs for trout & smallmouth.
  15. I've caught several 20"+ trout on hair jigs..Usually in the middle of the day when nothing else is working.
  16. Cant complain about a trip like that! Glad you got out.
  17. The opener @ Bennett is always packed...The folks from Ozark Fly Fishers in St. Louis fill up Sand Spring every year, and there are several other groups that pay annual visits and stay elsewhere. Best bet: Pick up some blaze orange and fish outside of the park.
  18. Sinking lines are a pain because the application for each is pretty limited...tip to short, sink rate low and your fly wont get near the bottom. If it sinks too fast you will be hung on the bottom all the time. You will have to have several setups to match different water conditions. I have several of those sinking leaders in the 5-10' range..Airflo makes em I think...plus a 15' sink tip, 24' sink tip, Fast Full Sinker, and a 30' super fast sink head & running line setup....I dont use them much, but they come in handy at times. .
  19. Looks like you brought enough stuff:>)! Glad you had a good time.
  20. Dunno for sure..those appear to be small flowers not leaves...maybe Sorrel...sour grass.
  21. Sounds like fun! Glad you got out.
  22. I agree...Casino's are some of the saddest places on earth..
  23. Know a few folks up there from my Marine Corps days..Bad conditions but they are well prepared, . I'm sure they will be helping out when needed.
  24. Think the fish take a R. Legs as a stone or a craw....flat out ruthless anywhere...Goldens are common on the current.Rubber legs Fox Squirrel works pretty well...The CR Gold works too.
  25. Google Kapok Fill..its available for a couple bucks a pound..
