The traffic seems to get heavier and heavier every year. Maybe i am getting crankier as I age. I try to NOT fish on the weekends now as in the past you couldn't keep me off the lake.

Aunt's is crazy on the weekends. Not sure if there is a safe place to go. Cape Fair used to be better before the bigger marina opened up. Crazy there too. I try to just fish week days now.

Not an expert but I know a bit about the area you fish. Summer is tough for me too. I am not sure what I would do if not for drop shot and c-rigged fish dr. Point ten would be great place for you about three casts from the sign. head up lake and look around that island some too. Hopefully the experts will weigh in. I wouldn't ignore the shaky head either. Those two spots should get you bit year around.

Fished and camped Namakan, Kabetogama and Rainy Lake a lot! Best smallies in North America in Rainy! Miss the summers in Intl Falls but not the winters!

Love catching them on the Sammy. Go to bait is obviously the Eakins jig with twin trailer. A lot more fun watching them surface and chase the lure though.
