  1. I am headed up there in June. I am hoping to do some pre-fishing even though I will be on the back of the boat. Maybe we head up and split the gas cost?
  2. Thanks for the info. When you are an AM...you fish where the pro goes. I had a nice feller, but we stayed on the pattern that worked for him yesterday. Part of the difference might have had to do with the lake getting shallower instead of deeper. It was a great learning experience either way. Charlie Campbell is one of the nicest guys in the World. I like to stand next to him and try to soak up some of his knowlegde and niceness. It seems like everyone around him is always smiling.
  3. I fished the AM side of the Pro/Am today. Big old stinky skunk here! My good friend was an AM on another boat and he blanked too. There are some big fish being weighed in. I think Charlie ( walking legend) was the leader when I went to warm up some. I wasn't cold until we stopped fishing. Funny you mentioned a client throwing his bait 15' into the trees. My first cast today was about 40' high. I am sure the Pro in the front was laughing on the inside. Spinner bait was the key again today. One angler said you had to have round blades not the willow blades. Now he tells me!
  4. The weigh in was Ahoy's. Big bass was 6.98 pounds. Top weight was 23.13, 2nd was 21.40, and 3rd was 20.82 (best I remember). You almost had to have 16 pounds to earn cash! Looked cold and windy! Spinner bait seemed to be the bait for the day. No surprise there I guess. Saw Babbler down there. It is always a pleasure to bump into him. Beck placed in the cash too.
  5. Im digging out the parka and heading down there. Will give any stats I have when I get back.

  7. That is good news! Aunt's Creek is my favorite launching pad. I'm going to head down and see how the Heartland anglers faired today! I bet there will be a few big ones!
  8. Are the Heartland anglers still going? I know it was moved from Bull Shoals to Table rock, but how are they going to get everyone out?
  9. cofobasser, Your question is a bit off of the original posters topic. A new thread might have been cool. Most of the folks around here are purty nice fellas though. I did a quick search and there is a list of bass clubs. I think the Ozark Mountai guys meet in Springfield. Missouri Aurora Backlashers Billings Bassmasters Capitol City Bassmasters Central Mo. Bass Masters Hawg Hawlers Bass Club Lake Saint Louis Anglers Leake County Bass Club Mexico Bassmasters Missouri B.A.S.S. Federation Moberly Area Bass Club Ozark Mountain Bassmasters Pony Express Bass Club Raytown Bass Club Sedalia Bassmasters Show Me Bass Club Sniper Bass Club St. Charles Bass Masters St. Charles County Hawghunters St.Louis County Bassmasters
  10. I went up there but they had more AMs than Pros, so I didn't get to fish. The winning weight was 17.1 pounds or near there. Lots of folks blanked. The weight on Saturday was about the same. The AM side paid down to 18th place and was won with one fish. Very cold. No stick bait bite, the jig seemed to be best bet. If you can believe the fishermen! I think big bass went a bit over 5 pounds. A lot of fun still. Bull Shoals in April!
  11. I don't own a Tracker, but most of my friends do. They seem happy with their boats. I own a Skeeter. I have always wanted one and I am very happy with it. I love it lots! The reason why I am posting is because of the Jim Lovan mention. I did about a years worth of reading and digging. I spoke to Jim a few times and he is willing to share whatever knowledge you are willing to listen to. He will offer you the benefit of his knowledge.....even if you are leaning toward a Skeeter.

    Tent

Ditto on the back and th tent. t does seem that you get used to sleeping on the airmatress in a tent after a few days. We go to Buffalo river and a few other places every summer. I love camping. It makes the kids drop their video games. Nothing better than smores and a glass of wine next to a camp fire. I love that photograph. I recently purchased a Pentax K1000 after reading many of the posts on here. The digital world saves a lot of money on film and developing. Thanks for sharing that photograph. Makes me want to go camping right now. I could be sipping coffee and watching that tent, while the kids are still sleeping.
  13. I would like to add my thanks as well. I enjoyed the photos!
  14. Sometimes I think it is whatever lure you had the most success with. My partner likes the crawdad colors and I like the crayfish colors. If he starts catching them and I don't though.....I like his color better. I have way more crayfish colored Wiggle Warts and Mag Warts.
  15. I like it the way it is too!

    Top 3 Baits

Carolina rigged Fish Doctor is my favorite. Eakins jig and a wiggle wart. Colors are always something to mimic the cray fish, or green pumpkin.
  17. Thanks for the heads up. I gave this site and some of the regulars the thumbs up. No hanging chads!
  18. Hard to beat Buckingham's in Nixa. I love that place. I hope you will give them another chance! I won't comment on some of the other places (Ruby Tuesday's)you mentioned. Mamma said not to say anything unless I have something good to say. We always stay home on New Years Eve. It is dangerous out there. I would rather fish in a thunder storm.
  19. Thanks for the report. I appreciate the details and sharing of information. Happy New Year
  20. Merry Christmas to all and your families.
  21. I hesitate to argue about which lake is better for fishing. Table Rock is not the easiest place I haver ever fished, but I love a challenge. I think the challenge makes it more rewarding.
  22. I lived in Minnesota for a bit over twenty years. The last ten of it was in International Falls. Walleye fishing in Minnesota is real similar to bass fishing on Table Rock. You will do fine once you find a pattern. Might want to pick up a guide for a half day. I fished around for a year or so with limited success. I tried a couple of guides and now I seldom come home and don't smell like fish. We don't always do real well, but usually catch something (even if it is minnows). Good luck!
  23. I like her. She seems real. I bet she knows what a gallon of milk costs, unlike some Presidential candidates in the past!
  24. Are you two related?

    Today!

We had a little work group tournament today. The water temp is about 73 degrees. It was a blustery day! I think there were about twelve boats. Most people only caught one keeper. One boat caught three keepers, and the best boat brought a ringer, Snowden, and cleaned up with big bass and five keepers. I can't tell you what and where everyone else fished, but we used the Eakins jig. We tried the spinners, the fish doctors, the jighead with grub tail, crank baits, and some drop shots. Almost all of the fish came off of the Eakins jigs or a smilar jig. The fish we caught were around the twenty-eight feet area. We caught the shorts up in the Cape Fair area and the one keeper near Aunt's Creek. Hopefuly this weeken it ill be better!
