Spinnerbaits, spinnerbaits, spinnerbaits. Always works for me. Rocky banks, timber, bushes, ledges, bluff walls, never seem to have trouble getting bites on them. I fish a lot later at night than you it sounds like though.
Stopped by the other day and got my yearly permit. Didn't catch anything but I'm heading out at sunrise tomorrow. Hopefully I can hook into a few before it gets too hot
I'm 6'1" , 250 and my hands are 5" wide at the knuckles if that helps put the fish in perspective. MDC is doing an awesome job with Stockton I think. Stockton has always been good to me, very rarely I go and come back with a goosegg.
I was never really big on it. Always swore by day fishing but a buddy of mine has gotten me really hooked (no pun intended) on night fishing. It's a little cold in the early months but it's worth it for sure.
Got on the water at 1930 and fished until about 0200. Ran all over around Maize Creek and Masters. There were a lot of boats out.
Caught a lot of fish but only 8 keepers between 2 of us. Hard to establish a pattern with them tonight. Biggest fish of the night (and the year for us) 10lbs 8oz.
Just curious if anyone has fished turkey creek lately. Heading up tomorrow and will be targeting whites and LM. Fished sons creek last weekend, lost iPhone in about 8' of water but other than that had a good day. Caught probably 20 LM, all on 3/8-1/2oz jigs (mostly brown and orange) except for 3 that were caught on 1/2oz spinnerbait all white with white trailer. Only 5 were keepers. Also caught 1 keeper smallie on a jig. Target depth was 5-16' of water.
thanks guys. Good luck out there!
