For those of you with a jet boat who do you all use close to eureka area to sharpen your impeller? Got some rocks in the impeller while I was out last weekend? Thanks

Gotcha, I really liked the mount I mentioned as there is a place to mount the fishfinder, which would be the swivel arm and the transducer mounts to lower portion. ...seems like this would fit the bill as you mount it to this bracket and you can take it anywhere and any boat you choose. The fish finder really is amazing. ...good luck -

Thing about using it on another boat you would have to buy another transducer unless you plan on taking this off your current boat.....they are like $300....a bit pricey than what you have have but I have this mount from cabelas I used to use when I take my pond prowler and craw dad boats out.....http://www.cabelas.com/product/Portable-Transducer-Bracket/699847.uts?productVariantId=1183045&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03449000&rid=20&gclid=CjwKEAiAirXFBRCQyvL279Tnx1ESJAB-G-Qv66kwaFlk_sudfndKwbmHRrmB4GBJGBFoNKoTXX6pqRoC2Yrw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds -
Moguy1957 and my self were at riveround I was reading 47, but it was overcast saturday....water was extremely low in spots....need rain, but water color is real nice...guess if you were buy a shallow creek it could heat up a few degrees. My other buddy was reading 49 by Castlewood yesterday....water is definitely warming up

These fishfinders are the best for the money....can also network with the 5" version to share waypoints. You can't do this with the low rance or hummingbird fish finders unless you get the same size unit or the more expensive units...also don't have to spend more money on a map card -

Got to talk to brandon palaniuk at a fishing show this passed weekend and didnt have to much to say about the lake...guess he didn't do to well

It was nice to meet the famous Hog Walley in the flesh Saturday. Thanks again for the advice on the Walleyes and really appreciate giving us a few of the craws to try out. Looking to get back out this weekend, but trying to decide between bow hunting or fishing. That boat of yours is truly a beast.

How is the county road to Bell Chutes? Hope it isn't as long and dirty as the Pay Down access. I got off the water and had to head to the car wash......On a side note was talking to a local that lives off that county road and he said his nephew caught 22" in that stretch. He also said if you go down river 2 miles you can't get through the river as there is a log across the river. That area has some good looking water though.
-
Nice fish....will have to hit that area up again, but need waiting on my trolling motor prop to come in. By the way that gravel road that takes you down to paydown is loooooooooong!

I ended up putting in at Paydown and running about 9 miles up river just past the 42 bridge. Ending up having a pretty bad day with the boat and went home with a battle mark. A few miles up from the boat ramp I encountered a place where the river splits and it looks like your could go up three different ways. ended up choosing the wrong path, but not a big deal as i cleaned the grate and had her back heading the right direction in now time. This was the First time running this section, so after my first experience of the day I decided to examine any chute that doesn't look right to me. Ended up reaching the 42 bridge and ran a mile or so above it. Some really nice fishing at and past the bridge. Put out the anchor to fish and after 10min the rope broke. Thought no big deal as the rope was a little dry rotted any ways and I knew I would just run the trolling motor. Well, after 15 or so minutes of running it I hit a rock that you could not see from the surface and it broke a propeller. Know I know to carry extra propellers with me. Thought this sucks as i'm going to miss all these holes I passed up to get to the 42 brige. I ended trying to fish somewhat as the boat was drifting in deeper spots whiles using the motor to somewhat guide me. I got to say this stretch seemed a little tricky to me and was Not what I hope for on the day, then the worst happened on the way back to the ramp. As I was heading back for the day within a mile or so from the boat ramp had one last hair turn will timber all around the chute....Pick my spot and was going good till I got closer and saw a lot just barley sitting there as I was turning. tried to give it more gas cut it hard to get out of the way and it gave me a good kiss in the underneath of the boat. Didn't seem to affect the performance of the boat, but I would say it is a pretty decent dent under the boat. I have insurance on the boat, but curious if I should just leave it or fix it. It is not noticeable unless looking under the boat or from the back underneath of the boat, what is a cost to fix these? Guess I should just stick to river sections I know or pull out the kayaks A buddy Ended up catching 17 smallies and 2 spots on tubes, drop shots and ned rig.

I guess I will have to stay away from that area. 500cfs is about as low as I want to run...was thinking bell chute or pay down....have a few days before I go....I'll let you know how we do....thanks

If I wanted to but in at hwy 42, is this possible? Isn't thes a private campground?

Perfect....thanks again for the information fellas. Want to try and fish the gasconade more

It still doesn't look like like this has a cable to pull the motor up when getting close to shallow water. I like the idea of getting the powerdrive and adding the wireless foot pedal for &100 and purchasing the i-pilot. To resolve the fish finder cable you would need to get the universal sonar V2 option and run you fish finder cable through the slot for a cable and this will prevent the cable from snapping off or twisting around the shaft. The Terrova is a nice setup, but then again no cable option. Guess a guy would just have to reach down and pull the head when getting close to really shallow water on the meramec then put it back down when in a little deeper water. Would be really nice to have that spot lock option

I have the minn Kota Edge 70lb. I was researching installing a i-pilot type but after doing some researching and handling of it I realized that there is no rope. This raised a big flag to me as what are you suppose to do in the river when the river gets shallow. Most people pull the rope up half way and it pulls the motor up a bit, then drop it back down when you get past the shallow. The i-pilot's you have to bend over and raise the head up with one hand and try to still use it. on a lake it is no problem, but a river seems a little difficult to use. What trolling motor did you go with. Cowtown told me he would have to take a look at the boat to recessed the trolling motor. I can see under the storage area and the boat tends to get a little shallower at the bow of the boat. I don't want to attempt it by myself and really want them to feel it out to make sure it can be done. Curious, how do you handle pulling the head of the trolling motor up when you get in shallow water. I really want to get one of these i-pilots.

Thanks for the Pdf. Called CowTown and Cody said 415 for stainless impeller and 45-50 for the wear ring. Said no charge to install. I don't think it would be bad to do myself with all the youtube videos out there. Just need to find a place to purchases the impeller. He also Said for an 18ft with my motor, 30-35mph is about right. Thanks

When checking wear ring to impeller fit, is this stored on the ring or impeller somewhere. Also, I seem to he running 4800 to 5000 when I hit my 32 max speed. Of I trim any higher the motor bogs down because I'm trimming to high. Seems the trim on jets don't need to be adjusted like normal outboards Where can I buy stainless steel impeller? I also heard that loss of speed comes from the impeller not being as close to the ring. Meaning if the ring is wore you will lose problems, like you mentioned. Have you ever heard of taking your grate and sharpening the grates. Making them act more of a knife point so more water comes through the grates? Thanks

Yeah, I thought about this after we loaded. Told my buddy that's was it was a bit difficult to load. We were using phone and it was saying 32. Just have to try again as I really though I would have hit 35. River is getting pretty low, but thinking about heading out Friday evening for a bit. Might check mosel ramp and see how low the section there is

Why do you need that? I thought I converted you to the horney toad after that smallmouth You caught last fall
